    1. D.B. Great news. Related: The MSM “The Hill” is catching on: Biden’s ‘Build Back Better’ will raise energy prices

Claim: Princeton School of Engineering professor Jesse Jenkins claimed “Passing the Build Back Better Act would lower energy costs… & Failing to pass the bill will “cost Americans dearly.””
Counterpoint: The article refutes this absurd claim: “A key provision of the BBB plan would dramatically increase the state and local tax deduction. That SALT deduction tends to favor wealthy blue-state residents and sticks middle-class taxpayers in lower-tax red states with the bill.” Jenkins’ argument ignores the growing reliability costs associated with mandating a transition away from reliable, affordable sources of energy, such as fossil fuels and nuclear, to weather-dependent sources. ”

Our health and well-being, as well as our national economic competitiveness, rely on a properly functioning and reliable electric grid. Given this, it’s clear that subsidizing unreliable energy sources fundamentally undercuts the nation’s ability to operate. ”

    1. Speaking of failures of institutions….

If Canada’s hospitals are in such grave danger of systemic collapse then why are governments not bringing in emergency capacity? Like say some portable field hospitals?

Because we’re already paying dearly for that option….

“SNC-Lavalin Group Inc. has been given a $150-million contract from Ottawa for pandemic field hospitals, according to a Blacklock’s Reporter… signed the sole-sourced contract (in autumn 2020) but hasn’t given a completion date for the mobile health units. “There is no fixed delivery date at the moment,” staff wrote in a memo dated Sept. 9 (2020).”

“No formal request has been made by a province or territory to date as these units have been ordered in anticipation of a potential need by the Government of Canada for a broad range of situations,” said an Oct. 13 (2020) government memo.

“At that time (autumn 2020), the department paid SNC-Lavalin more than $26 million of the $150-million contract for a total of five field hospitals.”

      https://torontosun.com/news/national/snc-lavalin-scores-150-m-contract-for-field-hospitals-report

      So which is it?
We are in dire need of field hospitals. There are none. We’re still paying for them.
      OR
There is no need for field hospitals, this wave will quickly fade away. We’re still paying for them.

      1. I imagine there is no need for them. In Durham region on the north shore of Lake Ontario east of Toronto there are 6841 covid “cases”, there are 9 people in hospital “with covid” and there are 5 hospitals in the region. Shy of 1 in 1000 ends up in hospital, less than two people per hospital. Given that everything non emergency and non pandemic has been cancelled the hospitals are likely very quiet.

        1. The experts are generating models that show 65,000 new cases a day and with 1% ending up in hospitla that makes for at least 650 per day ionto hosptials. What’s the average dwell time in hospital? 10 days perhaps, so they need 6,500 beds.

Such malignant modelling, done deliberately to create a crisis, ignores 1) that they are worst case and only “scenarios” not predictions and 2) the use of outpatient treatment that would reduce that1% to 0.01% say. But of course, how can decision makers make decisions when they are not needed? And, of course, politicians claim their measures worked when the “scenarios” don’t pan out.

  1. Risk of myocarditis following sequential COVID-19 vaccinations by age and sex

    https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.12.23.21268276v1.full

    “ABSTRACT

In an updated self-controlled case series analysis of 42,200,614 people aged 13 years or more, we evaluate the association between COVID-19 vaccination and myocarditis, stratified by age and sex, including 10,978,507 people receiving a third vaccine dose. Myocarditis risk was increased during 1-28 days following a third dose of BNT162b2 (IRR 2.02, 95%CI 1.40, 2.91). Associations were strongest in males younger than 40 years for all vaccine types with an additional 3 (95%CI 1, 5) and 12 (95% CI 1,17) events per million estimated in the 1-28 days following a first dose of BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273, respectively; 14 (95%CI 8, 17), 12 (95%CI 1, 7) and 101 (95%CI 95, 104) additional events following a second dose of ChAdOx1, BNT162b2 and mRNA-1273, respectively; and 13 (95%CI 7, 15) additional events following a third dose of BNT162b2, compared with 7 (95%CI 2, 11) additional events following COVID-19 infection. An association between COVID-19 infection and myocarditis was observed in all ages for both sexes but was substantially higher in those older than 40 years. These findings have important implications for public health and vaccination policy.”

    1. D. B. – Two things from what you posted here:
      1. The study says “the association between COVID-19 vaccination and myocarditis…were strongest in males younger than 40 years for all vaccine types…”, and, “An association between COVID-19 infection and myocarditis was observed in all ages for both sexes but was substantially higher in those older than 40 years. That seems to be contradictory.
      2. Myocarditis events, not deaths, increased to between 3 and 101 events per million from the vaccines versus (up to) 6,240 deaths per million with COVID-19. https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality Myocarditis events are at a lower parts per million than C02 in the atmosphere. D.B. you’ve convinced me; getting the vaccine is clearly much safer than getting the virus. I’m finally going to run out and get vaccinated. Thanks for clearing this up.

      1. What are the side effects after 5 years, 10 years? No one knows. Get back to us with a health report in 5 years before you get too smart alecky.

        1. Nini – “No one Knows” – They have been doing mRNA trials on animals since the 90s and on humans since 2015. Besides this history, two characteristics make me believe people who get vaccinated will with mRNA will be ok in five to ten years:

          1. “The Pfizer and Moderna vaccines work by introducing mRNA (messenger RNA) into your muscle cells. The cells make copies of the spike protein and the mRNA is quickly degraded (within a few days). The cell breaks the mRNA up into small harmless pieces. mRNA is very fragile; that’s one reason why mRNA vaccines must be so carefully preserved at very low temperatures”
          2. “Vaccines mostly remain near the site of injection (the arm muscle) and local lymph nodes…lymph nodes act as the trash removal service for the body. That means the vaccine did its job (made spike proteins, which caused the creation of antibodies) and will be cleared from the body.”
          https://www.nebraskamed.com/COVID/where-mrna-vaccines-and-spike-proteins-go

Not trying to be smart-alecky. I am all for the right to make informed decisions based on available data.

      2. Myocarditis events, not deaths, increased to between 3 and 101 events per million from the vaccines versus (up to) 6,240 deaths per million with COVID-19.

Where I live, a region of almost a million people, there have been 394 deaths over the 2 plus years of the “pandemic”, of those 394 deaths, 24 have been people under 60, 1 was a person 20-29, and none were under 20.

I think it’s fair to say that 394 is on the very low side of “up to 6240.”

        https://app.powerbi.com/view?r=eyJrIjoiMjU2MmEzM2QtNDliNS00ZmIxLWI5MzYtOTU0NTI1YmU5MjQ2IiwidCI6IjUyZDdjOWMyLWQ1NDktNDFiNi05YjFmLTlkYTE5OGRjM2YxNiJ9

    1. They should have specified the “fireplace” option.

They paid an insane price for a marginally functional vehicle with horrendous fit and finish and you think HE screwed up?

    2. It’s the Volkswagon software algorithm in electric cars. If TEMP < WARM turn_off_heating.

      1. My old VW Rabbit never failed to keep me warm, even in weather like this. During one trip from Whitecourt to Edmonton, I took off my parka while driving and it was quite comfortable inside.

My current VW Golf comes close to that, though I’ve rarely driven it when it was this cold.

        1. I had a Rabbit Diesel that sipped fuel. 50 miles per Imp. gallon. The only time the heater failed was if the engine was idling in -35C weather or colder.

  2. Effective Jan 1st 2022, BC residents who are not vaccinated are barred from restaurants, pubs and most public activities. If my wife died tomorrow, I would not be allowed to attend her funeral reception.

I have decided to wear a yellow star of David around my neck whenever I go out in public, the kind Jews were required to wear in Nazi Germany. Instead of “Juden”, it says “Not Vaccinated”. Here’s a picture of it:

    https://news.yahoo.com/nashville-hat-store-apologizes-selling-151722817.html

I expect to be called Anti-Semitic – this leap of logic baffles me. The yellow star was used by the Nazis to identify Jews, so they could be excluded from some areas of public life. Over time, these restrictions became more and more onerous. I’m not comparing my inconveniences to the later persecution and murder of the Jews in any way. But at the beginning, it was only a minor inconvenience for the Jews too, and it directly parallels today’s restrictions on the unvaccinated. Our freedom to travel is already restricted. In Quebec the unvaccinated are banned from buying liquor. On the abortion issue, the left screams “My body, my choice”. Where are they now?

At what point did we permit these people to take control of our lives? Our freedom is being taken from us, and as far as I can tell, most Canadians don’t have a problem with that, as long as they can rationalize that it is in the public’s interest. Wearing the Star of David is my way of protesting this insanity.

    1. as long as they can rationalize that it is in the public’s interest

I don’t think most people worry about the public interest. So long as the government’s policy doesn’t affect them personally, they pretty much don’t care what it does.

    2. Sook, you could have chosen a red triangle, denoting ‘political prisoner’. I have one, with the capital letter ‘E’ inside it. This could mean England, (country of origin, as was the case in the camps), or ‘Exempt’.

      1. I was thinking of using a black marker on our maple leaf as a couple cracks and upside down.
This would designate ‘Depressed, Distressed and Broken’ on one of my Canadian Flag Pins.

    3. When you are unwilling to use the violence on them that they will use on you, you will lose.

      1. Because when one sits down, the Talisman can be removed because the Covid is unable to penetrate sitting restaurant patrons. It’s a magic consequence of the rules that Covid obeys, issued by gubermint.
We enjoyed this magic, as part of the dirty, rotten, heathen unjabbed, during the holidays at Mayfair Mall, with a very good lunch in the food fair.
You could literally see the Vid bugs flying off in terror when we sat down.

    4. You’ll get used to it. In Ontario the lepers have been banned from public places for months. I used to eat out fairly often, I was a member of a sports club and a member of a gym. That’s all gone, but I’ve gotten used to it.

Their businesses will go broke from the lack of customers before I need their services badly enough to take their medicine.

      1. Haven’t been a big restaurant patron in 10 years, no loss, my pub being closed for refusing to bend over and take it was a loss. During the last two years during the “lockdowns” my golf buddies and I started garage bistros. It is amazing how many people will stop by for some beer and conversation. We all chip in on the beer and move from one place to the other. F-ck Doug Ford.

    5. My preference is a face diaper that says FEAR PORN or INSANITY.

Mulling over which is better to offend the sheeple.

      1. During one trip to the student dental clinic at the university, I scrawled on the mask I was using: “Live Free or Die” At least one student liked it.

Another time, I had one with “Sic Semper Tyrannis”, though I don’t think many people got the meaning.

“666” on a third got a few chuckles.

  3. PS:

    RE: Elon Musk.

My friend e-mailed a similar story to the National Post a year ago. They didn’t bother writing about it. Of course last winter was a tad warmer.

Are they (NP) under Musk’s thumb as well?? Given the leftist view’s the NP has published in the last while, I wonder????

    1. Think of all the bugs we can eat. (Yum! Yum!) Waydaminnit: it’s winter…….

      1. Buddy – Yes I was going to note the quote about Acuitas: “Canadian biotech Acuitas Therapeutics, which is behind the nanoparticle used in Pfizer and BioNTech’s COVID shot Comirnaty, helped with the nanoparticle component in the Penn study.” I couldn’t find anything that says they are linked to Trudeau other than “the recent budget included a $2.2 billion, seven-year investment to grow the life science and biotech sectors”. I’m sure Justin would be happy to explain to Dr. Madden on a whiteboard how lipid nanoparticles act as protective wrapping around the fragile glass ornament that is the mRNA molecule.

Acuitas CEO Thomas Madden (a world renowned expert in nanotechnology): “The technology in terms of what it’s able to do is absolutely phenomenal. It’s just taken us 40 years to get here.” Another overnight success.

  4. Kate…

Just saw your repost on Gettr from “NovaScotialGirl” ….on the instant Disappearance of that CTV Poll asking if Mandatory Vaxxes were a good idea that did not, in any way shape or form, go the way they likely thought.

    On Mandatory Vaxxines
    22% Yes ~ 2300 votes
    78% No and ~14670 votes

A nice hard slap in their Marxist faces…

  5. A good read. Not all hope is lost.

    https://nationalpost.com/opinion/carson-jerema-there-is-no-convincing-case-for-compulsory-covid-19-vaccination

There is no way to make vaccination against COVID-19 truly mandatory, unless those refusing the shot are thrown in jail or physically restrained and forcibly injected. Lesser forms of coercion, such as regular fines for the unvaccinated, or existing government mandates that require vaccination in order to gain entry to, say, a restaurant, are also flagrant intrusions into Canadian’s basic rights.

    1. Anyone who does not understand that the vaxxes do not work does not have the brain power to understand what the word tyranny means.
The shots do not work, cannot work and will never work. Every fool on the planet can post here and say they do but that will not alter the reality that there is no working vaccine for the made up disease “covid”.
      This is an old one.
“Imagine a vaccine so safe you have to be threatened to take it. For a disease so deadly you have to be tested to know you have it”.
A simple statement that shows the stupidity of the average vax crazed idiot.

  6. Further to my previous post, a brief review of all the laws being broken in Canada by the various governments is in order. READ THIS AND WAKE UP.
    Criminal Code Section 216, 217, 217.1, and 221.
Canadian Crimes against Humanity and War Crimes Act (CSC.2000, c.24.
    Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (1982) Section 2a, 2b, 7, 8, 9, and 15
Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights (2005).
    The Nuremberg Code (1947).
The Helsinki Declaration (1964, revised 2013) article 25 and 26, all enforceable under Canadian law.
There are also other regulations that apply to employers. If an employer coerces an employee to any medical treatment, require a vaccine passport or get a vaccine as a condition of employment they can find themselves in violation of privacy and human rights protections.. Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, 2000,(PIPEDA) as well as the Personal Health Information Act, 2004 (PHIPA), as well as the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. 0.1.
Just how can we allow our governments to trample our rights and freedoms?

      1. Earlier on, I lamented that we are engaged in a losing battle, and it was far past the time to do something to fight back, but I didn’t know what to do.

It may be a pointless effort, and it may even backfire by drawing attention to us as individuals, but damn it… I’m tired of just sitting back on my comfy chair and tapping away at a keyboard, so…

Damn the torpedoes, and full speed ahead. I’m about to put in my submission after I sign the document. At this point, I don’t have much more to lose, and this sure as hell beats creating havoc, or marching up and down sidewalks carrying signs at -20C in the middle of January.

      2. Sorry, while the gesture seems genuine, There is a huge FAIL with this action.

You are volunteering to let Gov Can know WHO YOU ARE AND WHERE YOU LIVE!

Sure, each health authority knows who is and is not jabbed, but, telling Trudeau and his dark hearts who you are, is just asking to be first to be taken to the camps, investigated by CRA, RCMP, spy agencies, and any other nefarious harassment means they can muster.

Be careful what you wish for! We are no longer in a democracy.

        THINK EAST GERMANY STAZI!

        1. Dan, they already know who we are and every keystroke is captured. I have written the PM and fat Doug and they know who I am and where I am. I have signed petitions all over the place. As a famous Russian author said, If they come to your door and face violence instead of acquiescence they will start to think that maybe what they are doing is not a good thing. I once thought more highly of my fellow Canadians and doubted that the police would ever enforce Nazi policies, I was wrong. The generations have become a combination of both evil and stupid. we have to stand up, courage is all you need.

      3. Asking one of TurdHole’s minions to take action against TurdHole. Pitchforks and torches will get further.

    1. Because they have the doctors, lawyers and judges covering all their asses for them.

If a law has been broken, and there’s no prosecution, have any charges been laid?

      1. The government has broken lots of laws, even laws they wrote, including international law. We bend over and put on masks instead of saying no, we took experimental drugs instead of saying no, we closed our churches instead of saying no, we closed our businesses instead of saying no, we have allowed our children to be damaged instead of saying no. Cowards become slaves. Time to tell the government and bureaucrats to FUCK OFF.

    1. Few churches are actual Christian or even believe in God anymore. E.g. the United Church of Kanada.
Many Kanadians have replaced God with government. This scamdemic has proven that many sheeple pray to and worship bureaucrats.

      1. Few churches are actual Christian or even believe in God anymore.

That started more than 40 years ago when they adopted the heretical doctrines of “social gospel” and “liberation theology”.

      2. The United Church of Canada is basically a tax-avoidance scheme for SJW New Democratic Party operatives.

  7. so far only three lefties that we know have gotten away with killing someone. O.J. Simpson, the capital police officer and Alec Baldwin. Apparently according to the news Baldwin has yet to turn over his cell phone under the subpoena issued to him

    1. Jerry, is it not amazing how eye witness testimony is not acceptable when it comes to covid problems, yet in a court of law people can be jailed for life with eye witness testimony.

  8. Forced vaccination is a very dangerous concept. One that should never be contemplated in a free society.

If the definition of democracy is simply majority rule, then 51% of a population vote to put the remaining 49% to death is… ok? The definition is met. Bullshit

    1. Are we living in a free society? Are we? Really?

Look at all the laws they’ve already tossed out the window (as outlined very nicely by VOWG earlier on in this thread).

      Constitutionally protected rights? Some protection!

    2. Leftists plug that line every second. Tyranny of the majority is fine to them, until it isn’t.

      1. I have always taken democracy to mean one thing.
        ” 2 wolves and a sheep deciding what’s for dinner ” .

    1. In a real world, that would be the most racist set up ever. But our world is run by white liberals.

    2. Didn’t Mike O’Bummer tell us that all the buildings in America were really built by blacks because they were slaves?

    3. I recall a few years back (2018) there was a lot of excitement about a bridge at Florida University designed entirely by women Architects and Engineers.

Until it collapsed on the traffic below and a number of people were killed. Never heard another word about it.

      Video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLoqhWjXc5E

  9. VOWG,hits on the key.
If our parasitic overload,AKA Civil Service feels they can cast aside our laws, conventions and our individual rights..Because they are in fear and panicked by their own incompetence…
How the hell do they imagine any citizen will give a damn for their rights, freedoms and institutionalized protection?

The Long March Through The Institutions, has always been held up as “Success” by our Progressive Comrades..
It has never felt dangerous to me,because of the obvious..
I do not need these “Institutions” neither does anyone I care for.
The creatures infesting and corrupting these civic institutions, are totally dependent upon the public continuing to “respect” these institutions..

So having Killed any social good or public value these institutions might once have been perceived to provide, the infestation now blames the citizens, loss of respect for these institutions on “public ignorance.”.

Being blind and stupid themselves,it apparently is inconceivable,to them, that others might see.

Our Fools and Bandits of the political Uni-Party and the professional minions, have broken civil society..to save it they claim.
All bets are off,yet they proclaim themselves “Special and untouchable”.
Rather than totally exposed, contemptible and requiring proper reward for their hysterical insanity..

Some keep claiming Malice and Evil on the prat of our government agencies.
Natural stupidity and Delusions of Adequacy will give us the same results.

And from decades of observing our entitled “helper class”incompetence and systemic stupid is their forte.
As the Magic Vaccine Meme implodes, the excuse of “We meant well” will be brayed forth.

    Intent does not matter.
In a crisis, any real crisis, actions are what count.
    What did our “experts” do?

Now your average bleeding heart and Libtard will insist that motivation must be considered..
Yet the persons in question are serial liars..
By their own lives, their words mean nothing.
Their acts, speak the only truth these people will ever offer.

Perhaps this is better captured by real world..
Anyone been present in a nasty industrial or road accident?
There is always one helper, who is so sure they are in charge and helping, yet for the lives of the injured you must sent that person off on some errand, call the ambulance,go lie in front of traffic..anything to get them and their insanity away from further injuring the victims.
yet in the wrap up afterwards, they claim credit for everything.
    Everything they failed to do.

  10. “But Lawrence, what are they praying to?” Hegseth asked. “Because you talked about how they talk in religious terms about January 6th because what they believe was attacked was their cathedral, which is government. They worship government as if it is their god. And when that is targeted as something

“This is a vigil for what they believe is the altar of their power.”

    Actually, government IS their god.
