      1. Funny thing. Had a pollster call tonight. 3 topics, one of which was provincial politics.
        “Who did you vote for federally?” Held my nose and voted PPC. CON won.
        “What do you think about Rachel Notley as a leader?” A wonderful example of how really, really stupid people can help to show how demented their parties are. Would up noting “no opinion” when I noted that her stupidity promoted conservatism and that that was a good thing.
        “What do you think of Jason Kenney as a leader?” 3 out of 10. Wasted opportunity.
        “If an election were held tomorrow, for whom would you vote?” I responded that I would vote for an independence candidate. The pollster named 2 parties with “independence” in their name (Wildrose was one, I can’t find the other) and asked which one?

        The money quote for the poll? “Yeah, we’re seeing a lot of support for any Alberta independence party tonight.”

        Judging by where the (based in Edmonton) pollster laughed, he’s one of us. As we were saying our goodnights I noted that I would love to further discuss over a beer or 6 after the lockdowns are done and he just laughed and said “that would be a good night.” We’re not out of the mainstream if we just approach it right. Too many “my way or never” poison the well.
