Robert asks a common question. Peterson gives an accurate answer. He talks for a couple of minutes about it in his recent interview with Dave Rubin .
The follow up question is what to do about it?
Charles Pincourt, leaning heavily on the work of James Lindsay, has come up with a sort of field guide on what exactly is going on, the strategies that are being used, and more importantly how to block and counter them when they come up. If you’re in some sort of organization or group that’s dealing with this stuff be it a church, business, school, etc. hopefully it will be of some help.

Exactly.
They did not compromise on objectives we did not compromise on principle.
The left won without revolution, without searching for moral purity. They have relentlessly incrementally pushed the center of political spectrum to the left. They promoted their own and inserted tiny bits of their agenda into every choice, into every discussion. Consistently, for decades, they appealed to “common sense” and pushed.
And what did the right do in return? Most of the time they mumbled about a “difference in degree not in principle so no difference really” and ceded another trench line.
And thus we are where we are.
There is a lesson to be learned by the libertarian/conservative, binary world, crowd here. It will not be learned. Too late anyway.
I hate guys or gals that answer a question with a question. Watching Peterson I can’t help but feel that here is a guy who is so into his own intellectual entrapment that he cannot fathom simplicity…as in answer the effin question. Do you believe in God? Yes or no? I would hate to have to ask a guy like him for directions if I was lost somewhere. I think his intellect is bordering on insanity.
Peterson’s recent struggle with addiction to some benzodiazepines – which led to suicide ideations – certainly crippled him. Not the same man.
Wrong, he answers the question with a very clear statement. It is just not the answer that most want to hear. So when they hear it, they pretend that the answer is cosmically complex… because most want convenient answers.
Bought the book – kindle variant. Pretty good, worth the read. Not too taxing.

What I see in the interview with Dave Rubin, especially in the last 2 or 3 minutes, is a man who is, emotionally, in a very fragile state. In fact, I think he is on the edge of a breakdown. I like Peterson and regard him as a good man. But, intellectually, man there’s a reason Psychology (and the other social sciences) are regarded as the soft (headed?) sciences.
Everyone believes in global warming, that’s why ocean front property is so cheap – or is it?
Mockery and the obvious should be used on thick people at every opportunity, perhaps it will wake them up?
