Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Again, Quebec screws the rest of Canada. Quebec has less than 25% of the population, but close to 40% of the dairy farmers.
“Nearly 36% of Canada’s farm cash receipts from milk production come from Quebec, which makes it the highest milk producing province in Canada. Quebec is the province that produces the highest volume of milk and has the highest number of farms involved in milk production.”
https://lait.org/en/the-milk-economy/profile-and-impact-of-milk-economy/
Dairy is killing the planet from bovine flatulence … Right? So these price increases will be cheered by your Climate Committee … as soon as they return from holiday in Scotland. There is NOBODY in the Canadian Parliament who will speak for the consumer. No one to speak for the lowly middle class. Face it … your country is an abject failure.
I was an exec in the dairy business for awhile and it is regulated beyond belief, and the price and rebate system stinks. If people actually knew the real cost to put a 4 liter bag of milk on the dock for shipping they would shit themselves it is that high. The games played would make a casino exec jealous.
A bit of quick research shows, then Ontario and Quebec produce about 3/4 of the volume of CANADA’s dairy, and have about 3/4 of dairy farms, they are near the bottom in productivity
Cut back on milk, cut out cheese completely, not like it’s necessary for life. When cauliflower hit about $10/each, nobody bought any, prices dropped substantially a few weeks later after thousands of tons were thrown out, unsold. We aren’t forced to buy it, yet.
Yup, we go through this exercise at least once a year. “Supply Management”is just a cutesy word for “collusion”. Kinda like granting drug pushers their own street corner to sell at an agreed upon price, within reason of course we can’t have consumers squawking too much, while the gov’t provides all the muscle to keep competitors out. It’s a pretty sweet gig.
Most developed countries have done away with this arrangement…but oh no, “Harrumph!! We’re Canadian!!!”
Tasked with installing cabinets for a 20 something owner of a very well known franchise. I asked her how on Earth she was able to afford the franchising fee and she replied: “Dad sold his chicken quota”.
Me: “Of course”
And this just in: “Biden issues nationwide vax mandate”. I’ve read parts of it. Oh my, they’re not even hiding it anymore.
Off topic. I know.
quebec, mafia , government collusion , same same everyday
i am not a dairy farmer……….up to 71 % of u.s. dairy farmers income is from gov subsidy…u.s. dairy farms use synthetic hormone bst to boost production … bst banned in canada,,,if you tell a storey ..tell the whole story
Which is why Wisconsin wants to sell its over production to Canada.
“71 % of u.s. dairy farmers income is from gov subsidy”
In Canada poor consumers pay the subsidy included in the retail price instead of government. I bet these poor people have no clue that they are shoveling cash to millionaire farmers. There are no dairy farmers in Alberta who aren’t multi-millionaires.
You forgot the part of the story about Canadians paying roughly double what Americans pay, retail.
“The same thing happens in Canada — except police can’t investigate and no one can bring charges, because we’ve legalized our dairy cartel. ”
WE, have not done such a thing, it is the corrupt politicians, which term is a concrete fact, that created the scheme for the steady cashflow into their reelection scam.
The Canadian politician is one corrupt low life as a standard.
There are few and far between exceptions.
Regardless of party.
And that is a fact.
I guess this is the reason Max lost in Beauce. He’s against these cartels. Well enjoy the food riots folks. It is part of the panic after all.
Was hoping someone would bring this up.
Imagine how much these frog milk mafia bastards must hate Max and his speechifying about free trade and doing away with supply controls.
Also imagine how big his balls were to go against them during the FakeCon leadership contest. The Frog Milk Mafia made sure the Prairie Marshmallow “Big Dumb Andy” won instead and he couldn’t wait to show off his dairy fellatio mustache afterwards.
And he still was more on the ball than O’Fool.
Be careful, Lino Saputo IS the mafia.
This is not recent news, as anyone who has been to the dairy aisle in any Buffalo supermarket can confirm.
Butterlegging: it’s Canada’s fastest growing occupation.
L – “Coulda had Max”
Then we could afford to eat turkeys instead of being ruled by them.
What’s up with all the negative news coming out of Quebec post COP26?
Distraction?
Truth?
