  1. If anybody asks for my pronouns, perhaps I should answer, “up/yours”.

  2. We have changed from a society of achievement to a society of role playing. This is because teachers are trained to provide instruction in role playing, and one wonders when the last accomplished people die off, how will anyone have any idea how to play a role? That’s when the next transformation will begin, to a looting society.

  3. No mention of anyone pretending to be Asian.

And that makes sense. Claiming to be Asian likely decreases your chances of gaining admission.

  4. Elizabeth Warren isn’t a liar. Her racial fluidity is just ahead of her time.

But it makes me wonder. Might people who lied about their race and then go on to be public figures be taken to task for their deception at some point? Probably not. These records are likely kept confidential — for the school’s sake as much as the students’.

  5. These students are almost certainly lying for their own benefit.

But if you wanted to carry out a massive co-ordinated program to discredit affirmative action, this would be a good approach.

  6. My pronouns are my business, I feel no need to declare gender in public with every email I send. My gender is my own private business and if you mis-gender me I’ll deal with it if I want to.

  7. Both of the reserves mentioned are “less than special”. I lived near the T’su Tina nation while in Calgary. The parents would drive their children around my neighbourhood in Hallowe-en costumes (sometimes NOT) while driving SUV’s or Mini-Vans and sipping Starbucks coffees. (Isn’t that cultural appropriation?) The Siksika nation is on a road connecting to the Trans-Canada – traveling on that road cut half an hour from my journey to Regina. The reserve is classic Indian, garbage and old junk cars surrounding bi-level houses which have been stripped of siding (for fuel?) or have boarded-up windows.

  8. CBC is outraged that people are being mean to Linda Manyguns.

Oh, dear, you’re going to be in trouble. Her name no longer has capital letters…..

  9. dr. manyguns.

you cannot make this shit up. but I’m troubled that maybe someone is forcing her to take the white-man’s money. that would be inappropriate for her struggle. and i would suggest she drop the “dr”. it is a white micro-aggression for power and superiority. and get rid of the white-board. replace it with … a black-board of course.

    1. and get rid of the white-board. replace it with … a black-board of course.

That would be cultural appropriation. She’d need to paint a buffalo hide to honour her heritage.

  10. My stepdaughter is an art professor in Denver. She indicates most of the time students schedule with her is spent discussing what their actual sexuality might be. So relieved to have not had children.

  11. Always disappointed by the refusal to permit comments by CBC.
The first tell, that they know they lie.
What would you wager they could not produce one credible threat made against dr many gums?
Could not possibly be Dr Manyguns,as guns were unknown to our stone age first invaders.
But history, accuracy and written records are so colonial..

    1. John

Had that discussion on line with a tomahawk many moons ago, I posted something about the micmacs, and the fool complained that that was the wrong spelling. ME, that spelling works for me, and people know what I am referring to, so it’s good. The asshole kept arguing till I asked him how they spelt it before the pale-faces arrived here. END of Discussion!!!!

One has to wonder at the weird spelling some use for names.

      1. I for one would like to know how people without a written language spelled anything?

  12. Excellent point. Who in the world would care if Dr manyguns spells her name with capital letters, small letters, Arabic script, spells it backward, or uses some arcane alphabet left by missionaries who were hard of hearing?

  13. A couple of things:
The pronoun thing happened at my work recently. Almost in unison every director in the company put stupid pronouns in their email signature lines. It’s almost getting to be too much for me. I feel like I want to retire.
