If 2021 were 1941 . . .

This is a most interesting discussion between Zuby and Adam Carolla:

In this video, Carolla compares the current insanity over Covid and the Covid vaccines to the persecution of the French Resistance during WW2. This got me thinking, if 2021 were 1941, here’s how the following people who likely line up:

  • Pro-vaccine zealots insisting on vaccination for everyone at any cost: Nazi sympathizer turning in French freedom fighters
  • Australian politicians: The actual Nazi leaders
  • SDA trolls: Turn in the French resistance without any hesitation
  • UnMe: Turn in the French resistance and … you fill in the blank
  • Jason Kenney: Turn in the French resistance
  • Justin Trudeau: Demand a senior position in Berlin
  • Joe Biden: A dementia patient in an old folks home
  • Kamala Harris: As a French woman, would definitely be sleeping with a Nazi officer (and have her head shaved after the war)
  • Bonnie Henry: Apprentice for a certain Doctor M. in a certain camp

Exaggeration deliberate for comedic purposes but do you have any doubt that all of the above would be the first cowards to turn on their own people and join the new elite in power?

  1. Hey, it depends when in 1941.
If it was before June 22, 1941, when Germany and its allies invaded the USSR, there was no French Resistance. All French communists were supporting the German occupation of their country because Germany was a Soviet ally. Of course, once Germany invaded USSR, the order came from Moscow and La Resistance formed. So lets stop romanticizing the French Resistance, it was a bunch of commies following orders from Moscow.

    1. I never did believe in the myth of their resistance. I did read some history on the subject.
I always thought that “French Resistance” was as good an oxymoron as “jumbo shrimp”.

      1. “It is astonishing that the Germans managed to hold France with so few divisions, considering that everyone who wasn’t draining German resources by the clever maneuver of surrendering en masse and making the Nazis feed them was vigorously and bravely engaged in the Resistance…. Any hotelier who overcharged a German was in the Resistance. Each whore who gave a German soldier the clap was a freedom fighter. All those who obeyed while viciously withholding their cheerful morning bonjours were heroes of liberty!”

        1. Don’t forget that in ’41 Southern France was still controlled by the Vichy Government, and were busy actively hunting down Allied agents and downed Allied Airmen. Here is an article written in 1942 by a women who was the first reporter to be thrown out of Germany by Hitler. She knew the Nazis well. https://harpers.org/archive/1941/08/who-goes-nazi/

    2. “…A bunch of Commies following orders from Moscow.”

Quite so. It should also be noted that “La Resistance” would go on to use the anarchy caused by the Allied invasion in 1944 to kill thousands of perceived enemies amongst the general French population (the German troops who would otherwise have acted to prevent such atrocities being understandably distracted at the time).

    1. CDG tore the country apart post-war, nearly caused a civil war by refusing to reconcile with Petain, and came to power by brokering deals with the Communist resistance, something which continues to have an effect on France to this day (legal and financial). Post-war, people were killing each other in villages (disembowling etc.) as a result of the government-condoned purge of anyone who thought Vichy-France was the best of a bad situation, who obviously should have been distinguished from actual collaborators.

Instead of going to Africa (via Spain) to fight, like many French men did during the German occupation, CDG went and sat comfortably in England to accumulate power. He was an opportunistic sociopath who abandoned French citizens and those who helped them in Algeria by handing power to the most extreme terrorist group there. It was so bad that the French Army mutinied. No wonder Churchill didn’t trust him, he was a disaster for France but had great PR and created a great myth about himself.

DeSantis would be better compared to Petain: someone who is trying to protect his people from the excesses of a terrible regime.

    2. Zuby=a clean, nice-looking, well-spoken, well-educated black man

Look OUT! Joe! … he may be coming for your job! Err, your “handler, Obama’s” job.

    1. Sadly, I think we all do. They can live out their fantasies of having authority over other people, bullying them into complying with their will.

That only goes to show that many people must lead some very empty and pointless lives if that sort of thing gives them some reason to exist.

  2. My concern with any efforts to describe the current situation as a Nazi or fascist revival is that we would get to the heart of the matter a lot faster by more correctly identifying it as socialist or communist lite, the analogies to Hitler may seem like an easier way to score points but will be ignored by the mainstream because most people expect considerably different behaviour (and optics) from actual Nazis or fascists. That’s why it was possible to brand Trump, Reagan, Thatcher, and various other conservative leaders because of a vague similarity in style.

We are facing a considerable opponent to our freedom, and that opponent is globalism, essentially a cleaned up (de-russified) version of international socialism or communism.

I would not want to get into personal attacks because these tendencies are very widespread and apply to whole classes and groups of people. You’re not going to shame a few individuals and have that herd turn against them because they are interchangeable and working together for a common cause.

In fact I would advise anyone who has not already realized that this is a spiritual war that can only be won with God’s assistance and probably with His intervention, to start actively considering this, and not play games of spy vs spy. What we face is actually the end of this age. I’ve had people tell me well yes this is “like” the end times but the end times will be worse. Maybe. But why would they be worse, either you are free or you are not free. Are we free today, right now? And is there such a thing as “the shadow of evil” like people practising becoming evil? Maybe. Maybe not.

    1. most people expect considerably different behaviour (and optics) from actual Nazis or fascists

Most people have absolutely no idea what a Nazi or fascist is, beyond “anything I don’t like”. The Nazis were socialists (channeling Ben Shapiro: “it’s right there in the name: Nationalsozialistische.”)

Arguing over the difference between “Nazi” and “socialist” as if there’s an actual difference is ceding the terms of the debate to the loons.

      1. Watch TIK’s youtube episode about NAZIs and socilaism.

Both Mussolini and Hitler insisted they were Socialist, they had previously been members of socialist parties. Unfortunately people don’t get any learning or knowledge at school, just socialist indoctrination. They are told the two ideologies are right wing, and thus all right wingers are evil, because the Red communist socialists were fighting the Nazis and Fascist socialists.

For those who want some education, repeat these simple mantras to them:

Socialism pretended to be internationalist, but became Stalinist Red communism
Naziism was National Socialism for the Arian nation
Fascism was socialism without state ownership of the means of production.

        1. Yep:
“In socialism of the future…what counts is the whole, the community of the Volk. The individual and his life play only a subsidiary role. He can be sacrificed—he is prepared to sacrifice himself should the whole demand it.” ~ Adolf Hitler stating the original argument used today to vaccinate children.

        2. Robert your last sentence is what I consider the correct definition of Fascism. Unfortunately all tyranny seems to attract those who are more than willing to enslave and or kill their fellow man.

        3. Its a Great video, but few people, especially those who already don’t believe, will sit through 5 hours.
          TIK’s Stalingrad series is fantastic.
The Series on the Battle of Gazala is 13 hours long.

      2. Daniel Ream is correct.

Nationalist German Socialists .vs. International Socialists controlled by Moscow Russia.
The Nationalists and Internationalists / Germans and Russians / Hitler and Stalin were very happy to sign an Non-Aggression Pact in August 1939. They then split up and plundered Poland between themselves in September 1939, while Russia annexed the Baltic States step by step in September 1939 to Summer 1940.

Like John70 said, the Germans and Russians were great pals, happily slaughtering Poles and Baltics along with their own citizens. Russia encouraged Communists in France, the Low Countries, and Britain to sabotage the war effort against their fellow Socialists in Germany. And the Communists in the West were so happy to sabotage the war effort against Germany, right up to June 1941. So did Communists in the US like Woodie Guthrie and about half of Hollywood.

Russia and Germany were best of friends right up until Hitler’s Germany invaded Russia in June 1941. Stalin was so shocked, he took to his bed for several days and paralyzed the Russian response to the German Invasion. Woodie Guthrie had to withdraw and scrap an entire album, that was way too Hitler Friendly.

        1. Just to add to your point, the list of Russian invasions was not limited to Poland and Baltics but also included Finland and Romania.

        2. My understanding from an NP article was that Stalin was incensed that Hitler had such an easy time of France. He wanted Hitler to toil there and elsewhere with the idea that Germany would eventually turn red under the stress.

          1. “NP” being National Post or what?

And no Stalin did not expect Germany to turn red. He hoped Germans to overextend themselves, sufferer greater loses in France and then get bogged down in an unwinnable idiocy of Sealion. That would lead to a stalemate in Europe, and a much weaker Germany open to Soviet invasion.

      3. And, I have encountered commies who will do just that with very long worded reasons therefore. They think their 500-word garbage essay will trump your short five-word sentence.

  3. So I didn’t think of this during the five minutes I could edit, but a better title might be, what if this were 1921 instead of 2021?

The analogy would be with the situation in the nascent Soviet Union still cleaning up the final stages of its civil war and growing ever more repressive, Lenin would pass within two years and then came Stalin. That is the analogy I would fear rather than being hunted down by Nazis in an attic.

      1. Yeah you have confused Darlan with Pétain. :p
I think Darlan fits Ford better, an opportunist and yet a victim of circumstances. An ultimately tragic story.

  4. Jacinda Ardern: Vidkun Quisling
    Maxime Bernier: Marcel-Bruno Gensoul
    Hopefully:
    Leslyn Lewis: James Somerville
Pierre Poilievre: Philippe François Marie Leclerc de Hauteclocque

  5. I would put O’Toole in the role of Quisling
    Dr Fauci: Dr. Mengele
    Tam: Tokyo Rose
Kenney: Ion Antonescu dictator of Rumania

    1. Hahahaha.
A few years ago, there was a TV series called Great Romanians, where people got to vote for the Greatest Romanian. Ion Antonescu finished 6th, after the TV station fudged the numbers to make sure he did not win the top spot.

  6. We have the benefit of being able to look back and know what’s coming.
    1940’s Germans didn’t.

Are Ashley Babbit and the wounded Australians a sign it’s too late?

“Something happening here…. What it is ain’t exactly clear.”

I know that I have come here a lot to counter the innumerate nonsense often spouted purporting to “prove” that the vaxxes don’t work, but that is not the same thing as believing that they should be forced on people. Perfect safety is a goal held out by totalitarians (total safety!) to seize control over everybody’s life. The fact is that the mostly voluntary vaccinations combined with the over 20% of Americans who now have acquired immunity the old fashioned way (per a study of blood donations) has brought excess deaths to near normal, ending the crisis.

At this point it’s a decision between the patient and his or her doctor. Everybody get back to work.

    1. Tim, how many people do you personally think should die for this on going tyranny and “vaccine” experiment?

      1. Well since the numbers all clearly show that the vaccine is saving thousands upon thousands of lives, I don’t spend a lot of time on counterfactuals like that. For instance in Vermont 85% of people are vaccinated, there is no wave of people dying of the jab, or any people dying of it, to my knowledge. And then even though 85% of people are vaxxed, 80% of the people hospitalized are unvaxxed. Considering that the main age for hospitalization is over 65, and over 65, the vaccination rater is over 90%, it’s so unlikely that the 5-1 hospitalization ratio is solely due to chance and really the vaccine didn’t work, that it’s not worth thinking about. This ratio is borne out in study after study of location after location, making all but impossible that it’s just luck and the vaccines really don’t work.

How do you sleep at night advocating for people who are over 50 and at actual risk for the virus not take a shot that has been shown to save so many lives, when refusing the jab is so clearly risky for older people. People under 50? They are not at nearly so much risk and I don’t blame them either way. If I were under 30, I would decline the jab, myself, unless I spent time with oldsters.

been watching dozens of doggie adoption vids.
a few are suspicious asking for money, but on the whole, well, there are 3 doggies at my place that allow me to spoil them.
all dogs that have ever graced my quarters have been rescue animals. the unreserved and genuine and strong loyalty cannot be found elsewhere.

  8. Well, if 2021 were completely analogous to 1941 we at least wouldn’t have Joe Biden to kick around (or kick us around) anymore, since the Nazis euthanized their dementia patients.

Also the fascist tyranny we’re evolving on both sides of the 49th parallel is about half Communist . . . just like the Chinese tyrants who own both Ottawa and Washington.

On the other hand, Herr Doktor Fauci makes a pretty good modern-day Josef Mengele, I think. By the time it’s all over, he’ll certainly take the credit for a higher body count.

  9. UnMind: Turn in the French resistance and … pleasure himself to pictures of Himmler.

I am but shouldn’t be surprised at how many people are happy to go along.

    1. Thomas, THANK YOU!!! I clearly teed up a softball for everyone and you were the first one to hit it out of the park!

  10. “SDA trolls: Turn in the French resistance without any hesitation”

As a proud SDA troll I ask, do you guys really consider yourselves equivalent to the French resistance? Would that make me a Nazi sympathizer? Then JT (and Health Authorities) would be the Nazis?

As many have stated here I am not very smart – and can’t spell.

    1. Well the French Resistance was ineffective and farcical and has become part of the French’s extreme self-regard. Works almost perfectly.

      1. maybe, but least they tried… if we had the internet back then would they still be fighting with rifles or contributing to a blog?

Back to Robert’s analogy, are you saying SDA who are equivalent to the French resistance are “ineffective and farcical”? I would whole heartily agree.

  11. Without SDA trolls, you guys would sit around agreeing with each other – how fun is that?

Without anyone making fun of your comments, you would take yourselves way too serious and angry.

Who would correct my spelling and grammar?

  12. I’m honored to be mentioned in your latest example of deranged victim complex. Too bad so sad I’m not actually a huge fan of mandates at this point.

  13. Our trolls are honored! I guess that’s why they waste our time and theirs. Either that or the Chinese pay them 50 cents a post. Boob actually thinks we all agree with each other. Precious.

    1. bob with an extra “o”… cleaver.

      calling me names…. cleaver.

correcting my spelling and grammar… cleaver.

disagreeing with any SDA narrative… bob is a Nazi

  14. “Kamala Harris: As a French woman, would definitely be sleeping with a Nazi ”

    The misogyny has arrived.

    1. You’ve confirmed once again that you are a very dim bulb and clearly missed the factual reality of how Kamala jump started her political career.

      1. You are the last person who should use the term ‘factual reality’.

There is no evidence Khamala jump started her political career in any manner implied.

  15. One positive aspect of the Boomers dying off will (hopefully) be the cessation of ubiquitous (and increasingly creaky) WWII/Nazi/Hitler analogies. Or maybe that’s more the result of Jewish influence in the entertainment and news-media. Time will tell, I suppose.
