  1. Also noticed that it’s a pact based on capability.
The US the UK and Australia all have nuclear powered submarines.
We can’t have that capability because it might upset the pretentious types inhabiting the MTV.

      1. It will. I heard that the Aussies want to acquire some from the U. S. One question that remains to be resolved is where the boats will be built.

  2. Knock yourself out. As it stands today I wouldn’t enter into a pact with any of those countries. I refuse to sacrifice anymore Canadian boys to build the new world order of filthy stinking rich socialists. China is only one of our enemies. The world has changed in immeasurable ways just in the last 20 years.

  3. Yes. Its all about what you can bring to the table and Canada has nothing to offer. And I agree with Arty. What ever we offer, even if its token contribution, it will be wasted, just like Afghanistan.

    1. “Canada has nothing to offer.”

Wrong – Canada has maple syrup, canola, lobsters, hockey pucks, three Woke political parties and no gun rights.

Sorry, now that I think about it you are 100% correct.

  4. We’re already a province of China so why would they include us? Wait until election night when the Liberals are behind but suitcases of ballots get counted and guess what? Turdo majority.

I read this morning Alberta has rolled over and died is now full on panicdema again. Canada is over.

  5. I would describe this as a realignment of Nato – they just don’t know it yet. The UK is the only major country that has paid its 2% of GDP toward defense spending. Australia is an obvious pawn against China. Wait for other countries being invited to join if they pay-up. It’s a great way to keep Nato and dump Nato at the same time.

The Germans and French are the worst, knowing full well that (until now) the Americans will keep China and Russia in check without any financial contributions. I don’t think the Americans have any real intention of ending their Earth Police role – they are just looking for a new funding mechanism.

In the new world you will pay up-front or be tossed. Best to start one country at a time. I don’t think Australia is at the 2% threshold so there should be an announcement in a few weeks to months that the Ozzies are beefing up their military “with help from the US”.

Look to China to cry foul. America is forming a new military club.

    1. Oz is very close to the 2% “standard” … I think about $40 billion AU currently.

Canada is at 1.45% this past year, in 2019 it was 1.2%, a few years past it dipped below 1% with material spending at 10% of that 1% … the NATO standard for material is 20% (for equipment).

So if President Trump had held to realigning NATO the first thing he could have done would be to ask Canada to exit NATO as being not serious players.

  6. China is successfully breaking alliances of the west.
With the Wuhan flu infected world it gave China power to damn every other country. If they don’t submit they are threatened by economic barriers. They masterfully managed to tell the power idiots in the west to STFU about the Wuhan flu. The western power idiots said, OK. Some of them are fully adopting the China’s policies of communism. The prime example is the idiot in charge in this country.

    The script works like this:
“Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.”
    ― George Orwell, 1984

Sunny days are just around the corner.

  7. If Blackie pulls a rabbit out of the hat and gets back, the frigate and fighter programs will be extended and grow to over 100B each with operational uselessness being assured.

  8. New Zealand and Canada – which form part of the Five Eyes alliance with the US, UK and Australia – were also side-lined, apparently after taking a softer line on cooperation with Beijing

Yes, your PM is a softie. A selfie-taking, sock-in-pussy, softie.

  9. Given Canada’s record of operating two and a half submarines and inability to procure even the simplest of military hardware (they can’t even manage to buy handguns, something the gang bangers in Toronto have no problem acquiring) , I’m not surprised Canada was left out of this pact. That and Justin’s cozy relationship with China.
