Update: I can see everyone is having fun in the comments section. Let me add a couple of points. No this comparison is not “perfect”. But lets remember what the worlds top doctor, Anthony Fauci said on CNN back in June, “Having about 50% of adults fully vaccinated and about 62% of adults having received at least one dose across the US as a whole means “as a nation, I feel fairly certain you’re not going to see the kind of surges we’ve seen in the past,”  The charts start at the 50% mark and we know that the number of people fully vaccinated is much higher now.

    I mean if 95% of the entire population is vaccinated, but only 80% of the deaths are in that population isn’t that better than 5% of the entire population being unvaccinated but making up 20% of the entire population?

    2. The graphs are garbage, because they’re comparing the upslope of the 4th wave in summer 2021 to the lull between waves in 2020. That being said, there is data around that shows the vaccines aren’t living up to their hype at all. They don’t prevent you from getting infected, they don’t reduce viral loads and thus don’t slow the spread, and with the latest data out of the UK, it would appear they don’t reduce your risk of dying from COVID. Keep a close eye on the data coming out of Israel, as they have a very high vaccination rate, and they’re currently getting hammered by the 4th wave. Their data over the next several months should tell us a lot about about what benefits the vaccines are providing.

      1. I agree. First, let me state that I am convinced not to take the clot shot, however having said that, the graphs are suspect. The numbers being compared are from the summer or 2020 when alpha was the main concern, compared to 2021 when delta is predominant. The pro-vaxxers have always told us that delta was more communicative, and spreads faster. These graphs, they will say, justify their claims.

        Problem is the graphs also show that even considering waning, the vaccines are next to useless when it comes to variants, and boosters would be required, despite them telling us originally that the jabs were good for the rest of your lives.

      Very good question! The nit-picking arguments here are missing some very important context. If the death rate from Covid19 is 10 or 20 per day in Canada, how many other people die, on average, every day in Canada? Is 10 or 20 dying every day a significant number? How much lifetime one has left could be mentioned but I think that that would turn out to be a red herring. Most importantly, what percentage of total deaths being caused by Covid19 should call for a continuing state of emergency?

      In my opinion, if Covid19 is the cause of less than 5% of total deaths in the nation over a period of either 2 weeks or a month in duration then the lockdowns and mask mandates should end. (Yes, this is homework for the “you don’t know math!” whinger.)

      1. I live in a region with a population of 630,000. The death rate from all causes is reported to be about 320 per month on average. In the past month the covid deaths were reported as 7. Draw your own conclusions about whether this qualifies as a pandemic.

        1. That’s some seasonal adjustment in your region. If 320 die every month, then the average age of death works out to an age of 164 for a population of 630,000.

          (630,000 in total means that 630000/365.24 = 1,725 people will die for each day on the calendar in some future year. If 320/30.5 = 10.5 people are dying per day now, that means that 1725/10.5 = 164 is the average age of death. That can’t be right, so something is missing.)

    The unvaccinated number is dropping, is that because they are getting the covid and are now immune? And there are fewer unvaccinated overall?
    But why are the vaccinated numbers climbing so quickly in comparison?
    That line looks like it would be going up faster than the number of people vaccinated is going up.

  7. I’m not convinced calendar date is the best comparison to prove or disprove vaccine efficacy.

    I would rather see, given the ongoing surge, are vaccinated people experiencing the claimed protection from the vaccine wrt preventing hospitalization and death? Has that protection outweighed the negative side effects? In particular side effects experienced by people not at risk of a negative covid outcome.

    This is still a pandemic of the sick and elderly, healthy people under 60 have little to fear vaxxed or not.

The old and infirm are at high risk for dying from any cold/virus, their immune systems are weak, a regular cold can turn quickly to pneumonia and death.

        This virus though takes out “the others”…..the morbidly obese, the diabetics, of any age, who would typically survive a cold or flu. Covid makes mincemeat out of this group.

        1. I saw a study that said one of the highest comorbidities was having a genetic disease like Tay-Sachs or several others that make your ability to digest and use lipids malfunction. That may partly explain how certain ethnicities have higher fatality rates? Just like Obesity is a Co-Morbidity that affects certain populations?

    1. I would like to know how many of the elderly died within 30 days of receiving their second shot. I know both my mother in law and father in law did so. Coincidence? Maybe……but if they had tested positive for the Wuhan virus earlier and then died, their death would be considered a “covid” death.

When 100% are vaccinated and 0% are not, 100% of covid cases will be vaccinated people. Because no vaccine has 100% efficacy, as vaccination rates rise from 0% to 100%, an increasing proportion of those catching covid will be vaccinated.

  12. An example to the above. 100 people with 80 vaccinated and 20 not. The vaccinated have a 10% chance of catching covid while 80% of the unvaccinated can. Expose the 100 to covid and 10% of the 80 or 8 vaccinated will catch it and 80% of the 20 or 16 of the unvaccinated will get covid. 24 total cases and one-third of them unvaccinated. It looks bad for the vaccinated but still only 10% are getting it.

  17. The charts Francisco presented, unfortunately, do not support the supposition, at least by the fact, there isn’t enough data, or more correctly, the correlatable data points, to make the judgement.

    What the charts don’t show, are the division of Jabbed/Clean patients by case, by hospital induction, or by death. Those are the numbers to hang your hat on, the ones that Israel IS NOW PUBLISHING. This will happen in Canaderp, since so many SHEEPLE have taken the cytotoxic jab.

    We’re not there yet, but, we are on our way to watching the majority of each category be the JABBED, as it is now showing in Israel and the UK. Ergo vaccines completely failed at curbing the spread of the disease. At most they were a bit of a speedbump.

          A speedbump that is is getting flattened as the vaccine marginal effectiveness vanishes. That is a fact. Now the new wave is coming and those vaccinated first (i.e. the most vulnerable, arguably the only really vulnerable for whom even the temporary vaccine might have been worth it) are the least protected.

          Vaccines failed. Spectacularly. Had the governments did not all sign the waiver they would be suing big pharma.   23. I understand that it’s hard for people who ducked math classes as much as possible to be at the mercy of people who didn’t to understand what is going on, but that’s the way it is. Actions have consequences. There is simply not enough information in those graphs to come to any kind of conclusion, and they certainly don’t disprove findings of studies that show that the vaccine is very effective in preventing hospitalizations and deaths.

    For instance, in a Los Angeles study, unvaccinated were nearly 5 times more likely to be infected with COVID and nearly 30 times more likely to be hospitalized than vaccinated people.

    LA County was 50% vaccinated at the time. 31 vaxxed or partially vaxxed people died, and 176 unvaxxed people died. Once you started getting over 65, vaxxed an unvaxxed numbers started to even out, probably because a lot more people over 65 were vaxxed, but they don’t give that information

  27. There seems to be some mis-interpretation on both sides of this argument over these charts.
    The only argument to be made is that it’s alarming, considering how many people are vaccinated, how the numbers are compared to last year. Now I understand it’s the “4th wave” but it’s very odd that it’s happening in the middle of summer. Last year with the virus being quite new the numbers tapered way off in the summer, just like any other flu. In our part of the world our flu infection numbers in relation to time of year are quite constant.
    Even accounting for Delta being more contagious we shouldn’t be seeing these numbers right now.
    It will be interesting to see if these numbers start dropping by our standard flu season will we see another flu strain make a comeback? This could possibly be a good thing or really bad, depends on how you believe it will infect the covid vaccinated and unvaccinated.

    I did some math on the table provided by Public Health England and found that adjusted for percentages of the total population, the unvaccinated still had a lower death rate (.00085) than the vaccinated at (.0011). The point is: both rates are vanishingly small and I suspect this is also true for numbers who required any medical intervention whatsoever.

    I am one of six “at risk” friends who all contracted covid in April of this year. My wife is immuno-compromised due to cancer, while another is Type 2 diabetic. All of us are over 70. Five of us experienced covid as a fairly mild, short duration cold. The only one who experienced more severe symptoms also had her first ‘jab’ two days after her positive test. Admittedly this is anecdotal, but it is ‘real world’ experience.

    Incidentally and also anecdotally, my wife who has being battling cancer for three years, has experienced a sudden, sharp drop in her stamina and breathing. It could be natural progression of her illness, but it certainly appears co-relational to her 2nd dose of Pfizer.

    Two points. No government that I’m aware of has released comparative data regarding percentages of covid positives who required medical intervention and those who did not. This is vital. Next point: why have governments NOT acknowledged the significant numbers of covid recovered who possess robust aquired natural immunity. Why are we being coerced into two jabs, which as is now becoming apparent, serve little or no purpose. Why are we designated second class citizens, being ‘othered’ as are the unvaccinated?

    New cases, hospitalizations, and deaths as a % of cohort IS useful data and it overwhelmingly shows that the vaccine is highly effective, but not 100% as well had hoped.

      Bullshit form start to finish. The job of the vaccine is to prevent the spread, that is all, that is everything. The job of the vaccine is not to make illness less severe. So all the arguments about vaccines reducing the number of hospitalization or deaths are irrelevant (we will comeback to them in a second). What we know is that the vaccines failed measurably in their primary mission which is why we tend to have between 4x to 5x the number of active cases than we had a year ago in virtually every larger sample.

      Now as far as lower numbers of hospitalizations and deaths. These are driven primarily by three factors. 1. A considerable proportion of the most vulnerable are dead already. 2. Those getting infected now tend to be younger and healthier. 3. Better treatment, for example all those doctors who careers were ruined when they advocated for less aggressive use of ventilators have been proven right.

      Finally the side effects of vaccines are routinely brushed aside. While every person who dies with Wuhan Flu is categorized as dead from Wuhan Flu, those who suffer side effects are routinely told that their side effects are merely a coincidence. W only now beginning to see the range of side effects those vaccines have. Common examples include outbreaks of shingles, severe allergic reaction to wasp/hornet stings, unusually heavy menstruation. And those are just a tip of the iceberg, we will probably not know the full list for years.

    Missing: all data are currently cross-sectional. A year is not enough longitudinal data. Ditto for the treatments frontline doctors (the folks whose hunches, experience and skills save lives. Yeah, fully automated cradle-to-grave medicine is quite a ways off,…)

    We are missing sufficient granularity to make informed decisions as to which of several experimental drugs we should take, vs taking none, or waiting for v2.0.

    OK, missing from global Covid case counts are: ethnicity, sex, BMI, diet, hematocrit, seratonin, nutrient deficiencies, …

    Credit to researchers they HAVE begun to study the incidence of myo-pericarditis, by gender, age, race, fitness levels, and so on.

    Again, unclear what the longterm results are of picking up a bad case of this from a vaccine (or from Covid). But given that athletes who get it are being told to quit sports, given that SCD is strongly associated with it, and given that giving up sport could equal big losses in scholarships, I expect some pretty gnarly lawsuits from NCAA athletes who got it… Especially if it was mandated to athletes who have strong, healthy bodies.
