One of the Biden administration’s top COVID-19 advisors has admitted that most face masks are “not very effective” in stopping the spread of the virus.
Dr. Michael Osterholm, a member of President Joe Biden’s COVID-19 Advisory Board, told CNN that the mask wearing is little more than theater, as most cloth face coverings do nothing to prevent the spread of the virus.
“And if I could just add a nuance to that, which hopefully doesn’t add more confusion, we know today that many of the face cloth coverings people wear are not very effective in reducing any of the virus movement in or out,” Osterholm told CNN host John King. “Either you’re breathing out or you’re breathing in.”
Of course, Mr Expert was arguing that more rigorous N95 masking should be compelled.

I was in the Canadian Tire in Fort St. John yesterday. Most, if not all, of the customers were maskless but all but one of the staff were face diapered.
There are still a few holdouts here in town. I saw someone crossing a parking lot, well away from other people, hiding his face behind his useless piece of cloth. Considering how many Lotuslanders now live there (“For the lifestyle!”), I wouldn’t be surprised if he was one.

It’s the opposite here in BC. I go into Canadian Tire or Walmart with my girl and we may be the only two *not* wearing masks. Once in a while there are one or two others. People (most Asians) are still wearing masks while driving alone in their cars. Some businesses (again, mostly Asian) still require masks, but most say it is ‘recommended’.
Fort St. John has long been closer to Alberta in its thinking. However, thanks to an influx of Lotuslanders plus a lot of Indian money, that, unfortunately, has changed since I grew up there.
If everyone who is unhappy about the concept of forcing vaccines on employees walked off their job I think this would end quite quickly. I’m surprised there isn’t a human rights group organizing a massive general strike of some sort. The system crashes if the people band together and refuse to play along with government authoritarianism. We’ll all end up like Australia if there isn’t resistance.

I don’t think people are stupid. I think human nature behaves in predictable ways based on evolution and culture. Unethical, immoral people can use that to manipulate others. Hysteria, scapegoating and fear mongering leading to human rights atrocities is well documented and the psychological basis has been studied extensively.
So, people need to ask themselves why the ruling class, with help from the media and corporations, are using psychological techniques known to cause social division and human rights atrocities…for a disease with a 99% to 99.997% case fatality rate.

I don’t think most people realize just how long this totalitarian ‘push’ in the West has been going on…well its a long game and to my reckoning at least actively 80 years give or take. More to the point its the classic ‘heat the water up slowly so the frog is not aware of his predicament’ set up.
I well remember in the late 60’s going to a recruitment seminar in TO that was the basic start up of VISA aimed at selling the use of unrestricted credit through plastic cards which was touted under the guise of ‘convenience’ to the general population for both corporate profit and entrapment through widespread personal debt.
You see,in the past when you used to have to make an appointment with your bank to finance intermediate ticket items, they didn’t let you spend beyond your means. The same with store lay-away plans. Debt was more out front and hence regarded with a healthy dose of caution.
To your post Janice, most people nowadays are so financially compromised that they live in fear of not being able to make those monthly payments and of losing it all, including their credit rating, so that the fear/inconvenience is greater than their desire to live as free and independent citizens .

The other side has been effectively using psychology and behavioral science. Those who prize medical privacy, free choice and human rights must do the same. People are braver in groups than they are individually. Think of how the Tea Party movement started because those would be the same demographic who support freedom from government and corporate coercion/force.
A more passive method to oppose this is to move to a state or province that outlaws vaccine mandates and vaccine passports.

On the London Calling podcast this week, it was mentioned that leaks from the White House suggest that Biden & co. are going to declare the Lack of 100% Vaccination as their 9/11, imposing something akin to martial law to ensure everyone is jabbed. This sounds crazy yet I wouldn’t be surprised if they try.
It’s not crazy if you think of the vaccine passport as the way to get everyone into a social credit tracking system. Then it makes perfect sense.

I’ve met a few nurses randomly in the past months, in conversations at the Real Canadian Superstore, and at other retail stores in the Calgary area, and am surprised how they’ve all been completely on the union’s sides, how big health care will save us, how “The Klein Rollbacks” won’t happen this time with the Kenney Gov’t.
and I can completely understand why my ex wife Teresa quit nursing (she said then, it was mostly to do with being inundated with paper being shuffled and endlessly filling out forms) … and some days, not so much actual health care takes place.
They are pushing the vaccine because the vaccine passport can then be used for control once it is in place. In the UK their ap for “protecting” you was accessed by police to track criminals. There is also talk about using the new UK vaccine passport to track what people are eating in the restaurant in order for the government to start encouraging people to eat less meat to help climate change. That vaccine passport is a passport to control.
I think after the Alberta court case is time to start asking to see the virus.

When I was out recently I came across a book sale. The man at the front said we had to use hand sanitizer before we could enter. My wife is extremely allergic to scented products and their hand sanitizer was scented. She was told she could not go in. One of the other volunteers came forward with her personal bottle of hand sanitizer that was an unscented brand my wife can use. The man then said the unvaccinated have to wear a mask to enter. I asked why. I was told there were a lot of children coming and going and it was to protect the children. I said children don’t need to be protected because it is less dangerous for children than flu. The woman volunteer replied that children can transmit to the vulnerable at home. Then I said new data from the CDC shows the vaccinated can get and spread the vaccine as much as the unvaccinated. She sighed and said, “We’re all just trying our best to follow orders and do the right thing.” She seemed very defeated. We ended up not buying anything.

Look, none of this should be a surprise. There is a desensitization to dehumanization that is prevalent in medicine’s culture. Medical professionals undergo an erosion of empathy and moral disengagement in their training and in practice. We are making this problem worse currently with the focus on the medical system treating society rather than patients, treating science as a god and removing conscience rights from physicians. Age old problems in medicine, especially when it intersects with the law.

And in what insane Universe do we reside in that insists the unvaccinated be vaccinated to protect the already vaccinated? Try and wrap your head around that logic.

burton, It ain’t untested, and it ain’t unknown. They know full well what they are trying to force upon us, these things have been patented since the early 2000’s, currently 75 patents. The vaccine is a bioweapon. The “flu” is an excuse to push the vaccine, the vaccine is a precurser to, at least a social credit system, and at worst, population reduction. Either, or, and what might be in between, none of it is a good thing for us, the peasants. Until we collectively wake up, it will continue and get worse!
I find it strange that the vaccinated howl at the unvaccinated. I mean, if the vaccine really did protect people, why should those who are vaccinated give a damn about the unvaccinated? They would pose no threat to them. Maybe it’s more “buyers remorse” among the vaccinated that we are seeing.
Tyranny cannot take hold without a compliant segment of the population turning on the free thinkers and in effect vilifying them and either crushing them or turning them in to the authorities.
