We Don’t Need No Flaming Sparky Cars

…according to a new Bank of America Global Research report, the global EV battery supply is in danger of running out completely as soon as 2025. “Our updated EV battery supply-demand model suggests the global EV battery supply will likely hit [a] ‘sold-out’ situation between 2025-26, with its global operating rates reaching above 85%,” the report reads ominously. The supply shortage will be largely a product of rapidly increasing demand in a market that is simply unprepared for the levels of EV adoption coming down the pike in the immediate term.

Otherwise, everything will work out just fine providing the Chinese are generous in sharing their rare earth minerals, the electrical grid is rebuilt nationwide, and the cheap and plentiful renewable energy fairy godmother arrives in time to save us.

  1. Well, given the mass idiocy on display world wide over every Lying aspect of covsars2….??

    The below quote is unsurprising

“..The supply shortage will be largely a product of rapidly “increasing demand” in a market that is simply unprepared for the levels of EV adoption coming down the pike in the immediate term….”

Methinks whoever wrote that has willingly taken at least 2 doses of Moderna if not more…and is suffering from a previously never heard of and recently detected cranial defect.

Never gonna happen unless: The planetary population is below 1 Billion of which 95% are slaves to the Elites….and utilize 18th century motive means…or the planet goes 100% NUCLEAR (and given the Eco-Tard mentality today, will never ever happen).

Its all smoke n mirror Bullshit just like the Vid…and in the end, EV’s and Green power is all about the $$$$$ for the select few paid for by the gullible vacuous and uncurious masses.

  2. They won’t need any where near as many EVs and batteries in 2024-2025 when the culling is in full swing from all the 2-3 yr adverse side effects (prion disease) from the vaccines.

Demand will also be majorly depressed in the shorter term by the massive “unexpected” cyberattack on worldwide supply chains likely to happen very soon (see: CyberPolygon).

It’s an interlocking complex plan. Their solution to the climate emergency isn’t more green power, it’s LESS YOU.

  3. Glad to see the author of that worthless piece of shite managed the obligatory mention about the deadly, deadly climate change about to destroy our way of life if we don’t repent and turn our sinner faces wholly toward Mother Gaia.

Wouldn’t have wanted to miss that important news, after all.

    1. I couldn’t make it past the opening preamble paragraph … assuring us how much we NEED EV’s for a “clean” planet or something. It was utterly laughable, but written with the “certainty” of a True Believer.

So what’s her point? That we should expand our own “clean” mining of rare earth materials? Step up our strip mining and smelting efforts? That we should ditch all environmental regulations like the ChiComs do? So we can “keep pace” with battery demand? Or that we should kowtow to the ChiComs so they don’t cut-off our clean dream at the ankles.

  4. The ICE will always be used. It is readily available, good power-weight ratio and uses a variety of readily transportable energy storage liquids (AKA fuels).

  5. “…and combating climate change and imperative which grows more urgent with each passing second,…”

Uh huh. Sure. Climate changes constantly, why are you fighting it?

  6. The wise guys don’t know it yet.
The gasoline and diesel engines will run the world for a loooong, loooong time.
What are the statistics on the electric cars shutting down in the Canadian winter?
    None?
No, it would damage the narrative.

  7. Complete BS. Li mining in the US is ramping up dramatically. Battery production is ramping up as is recycling. You people and Kate are clueless idiots.

  8. If we replaced all the vehicles on the road right now with EV’s we would brown out the grid, even with all the fossil fuel energy we have. There is no way society will survive running EV’s on so called renewable energy. Maybe that’s the plan.

  9. The Left skews everything. Dismisses the destruction of the environment caused by the EV. The push for socialism is more important.
Dismisses the destruction of wildlife habitat by cultivation to support “plant based” food (plus soap and polymer products). The push for socialism is more important.
Dismisses the destruction of life caused by euthanasia – abortion and assisted death. The push for socialism is more important.
To the Leftist, the end (total domination and power over the proles) always justifies the means.

  10. I wonder how many of these “environmentally friendly” battery powered econoboxes will be as long lasting and environmentally friendly as my 20 year old pickup truck? It has 240,000 miles on it and is still going strong. Yes, the CD player doesn’t work, half the dash lights are burnt out, and the fenders are getting rusty. But it has always started, even at -40F. I did have to replace 5 batteries, one fuel pump, 5 sets of tires, 3 of shocks, two wheel bearings, and a whole lot of fluids. How many battery pack replacements would 240,000 miles be for an electric vehicle? At how many thousands of dollars each time? Or would it be complete vehicle replacements?

I live in the middle of the North American Continent. -40F/-40C is a regular winter, and multiple days below 0F are a yearly occurrence. In Summer, +100F happens 0-15 times a year, and my vehicles sit in the sun baking at work and shopping. How will that affect driving distance? Will I be able to commute 40 miles each way in the winter? Can I drive 5 more miles to have lunch in january and still get home? Can I even drive 30 miles to the stores in the middle of winter, and run my heater? Or do I do what my Great Grandparents did and huddle at home until the weather finally breaks?

  11. We’ll just send out our politicians to stand in front of a weather event…like a tornado and yell HALT!
They’re brains are fried with their corruption.

  12. I’m sure the Chinese will be able to boost production from their African child miners.

  13. Was just viewing pictures of the 20th largest cities in the world with Tokyo at the top with 34 million people, basically the size of Canada’s population! Staggering when you think of the basic infrastructure to support these massive cities, water, power, transportation, food and sanitation. There are millions upon millions of ICE vehicles that would have to be replaced. My head hurts.

  14. So where are the 1 new nuclear reactor every 2 weeks that are needed to power this conversion? Hey Hunhge, are you keistering our future power sources? Stop storing the power from the gerbil-wheels that we all need in your butt, we will need that power!

Or could it be that there isn’t enough power generation to meet the requirements for the unanimously announced (but apparently insufficiently studied) zero CO2 announcements? (clue for UnMe and AllanS, the power generation just isn’t there without fossil fuels.)
