Sounds Familiar

NYT

YEKATERINBURG, Russia — Patients with unexplained pneumonias started showing up at hospitals; within days, dozens were dead. The secret police seized doctors’ records and ordered them to keep silent. American spies picked up clues about a lab leak, but the local authorities had a more mundane explanation: contaminated meat.

It took more than a decade for the truth to come out.

In April and May 1979, at least 66 people died after airborne anthrax bacteria emerged from a military lab in the Soviet Union. But leading American scientists voiced confidence in the Soviets’ claim that the pathogen had jumped from animals to humans. Only after a full-fledged investigation in the 1990s did one of those scientists confirm the earlier suspicions: The accident in what is now the Russian Urals city of Yekaterinburg was a lab leak, one of the deadliest ever documented.

  1. Yes, but was it a planned leak to set off a chain reaction of events perfectly aligning with Globalist Elite plans to reduce the entire world population so they could become wealthier and have more stuff?

  2. Always trust the Experts and the Science.
We don’t have science anymore we have psychopath’s.

    1. No, we have a dumbed-down electorate that thinks “science” is what they’re told by “experts”, instead of being able to look up the raw data and think for themselves, the perfect breeding ground for psychopaths.

  3. “…an authoritarian government can successfully shape the narrative of a disease outbreak and how it can take years — and, perhaps, regime change — to get to the truth.”

In other words, we’ll learn the whole truth about Wuhan flu when the People’s Republic of China ceases to exist.

Trouble is, all that needed doing to force the collapse of the Soviet Union was to stop throwing good money after bad. Soviet industry was competitive in oil and gas extraction, weapons of mass destruction, and very little else.

Even if our masters wanted to, bringing Red China to its knees would be impossible at this stage without ruining global capitalism, global finance and most globalist governments to boot. Forced to live within their means and pay Christians what their labour is worth, most globalist-controlled states would collapse overnight.

That is why Vladimir Putin is leader of the free world. His free, prosperous Russia owes China nothing—and is treated as an equal, not a vassal.

    1. “all that needed doing to force the collapse of the Soviet Union was to stop throwing good money after bad.”

      Like LEND-LEASE for example.

(Europe was liberated by glorious Red Army liberators, riding Harley-Davidson Liberators.)

    1. Science isn’t the problem, imho, scientism, political science and science fiction is. Their voices, Fauci and Tam, are mendacious.
Scientists have had their reputations shredded by fools who claim to speak for them and science are just ideological misfits.
Like every current aspect of political life, what they want to be true becomes the only permissible voice, monopolizers of virtue.
The actual authorities on science, viruses and biology generally are censored for not following faked scientism narratives.
We must restore integrity in science and every other area of public discourse, iow dumping socialist media and DeMarxism.
Along with every Canadian version, of which there are many. The public now knows rhetoric about oppression is neo-Marxism.
The question is do they see a true and reasonable alternative The NDP? Laughable. The “progressive” Conservatives? Doubtful.

      1. You’re agreeing. When the publicly lauded loudest voices of “science” are grifters, then “science” has become a grift.

        1. Science:
          1. Make a hypothesis.
          2. Make prediction from said hypothesis.
          3. Do experiment to test said prediction.
          4. In light of results of step (3), modify hypothesis if needed, otherwise do steps (2) and (3) again, many, many times.
          5. If hypothesis passes step (4), it graduates to scientific theory status. Yay!

          Not science:
          Everything else.

          1. Science is also:

            1. Discover or invent something new.
            2. Make observations.
            3. Analyze observations.
            4. Determine other characteristics of new discovery or invention by conducting tests.
            5. Return to (2) and continue.

        2. I’m referring to rank and file scientists, not elitist twits like Fauxi. Was that a 747 of words that went over your head?
I suggest you brush up on your reading comprehension skills, especially the part where I mentioned scientists.
Hint, second paragraph. Try to keep up. Science does not belong to the grifters, who have usurped their voices.
That’s where you’re misinformed, you don’t understand the difference between science and scientism.

          1. People like to pick and choose what science says.
            Science say F=ma.
Science says masks reduce the transmission of droplet-born pathogens, that’s why surgeons wear them.
Science does not say that mask mandates, lockdowns, etc, have a significant effect on transmission rates of airborn virii.
Science does not say that CO2 is a major player in the temperature of the troposphere.
Science does not say that BPA is a killer, and it does not say that asbestos should be banned. It does say that PCBs and dioxins are pretty fucking dangerous, and that asbestos and mercury should be handled correctly, ie don’t snort them.
What we have now is not science, it is the equivalent of yelling “FIRE!!!” in a crowded theater: “Lead is a deadly heavy metal poison, so ban lead shot, for the children!”, when lead is pretty much harmless unless you use it for pipes or cups to drink out of, and mercury is pretty much harmless unless you boil it, and asbestos is pretty much harmless unless you grind it up and breath it. Now the turd has placed plastic on the schedule 1 toxin list, right up there with such scourges as asbestos and mercury, scourges that were created and perpetuated not by science, but by yelling “FIRE!!!” in a crowded theater.

          2. What part of quotation marks around “science” did you miss? As noted, the two of you were agreeing.

  4. Anthrax: Huge fatality rate, easy to weaponize and not terribly contagious, so easier to control.

Flu-Manchu: Negligible fatality rate, not even worth weaponizing, can be spread from 1 person to another via droplets (like most coronavirii, say the common cold), thus hard to control.

Yet there are people who are convinced that its some kind of terrible Chinese bio-weapon.
Lab-leak origins don’t make a disease worse. The severity of a disease is not measured in where it originated, but in what it does. Flu Manchu doesn’t do much, except to the fainting snowflakes who were already afraid of their own shadows.
We call those people “retards.” Heck, you don’t even need a bio-weapon against a society that goes into fainting fits over 20 year old comments that have the word “nigger” of “gook” in them…

  5. Another reason why you can’t give Gyro Gearloose deadly toys to play with. Gyro isn’t near as smart as he thinks he is.

    1. Had not thought of the money laundering aspect to Hunters art. I’ll believe that sooner than I’ll believe Hunter has any artistic talent.

  6. Bringing back one strategic factory process at time will take the yoke off SLIGHTLY.
If you can build your 25 % of the microprocessors and other tech part the ChiComs cannt get upitie as much.

  7. The Soviet Anthrax Outbreak was caused by the usual drunken Soviet Screw-ups.
One shift removed the exhaust filters on the Anthrax Spore Drying Unit. The next shift was supposed to replace them. They were not told to replace the filters. They started up the production line without the filters on the air exhaust. The filters captured any stray Anthrax Spores from the production line. No filters? Anthrax Spores were exhausted into the air of Yekaterinburg, and drifted downwind.

The poor sorry b@*tards in the ceramic factory were among the people downwind.

    YeahWell,

Did you think that maybe what was released by the Chinese Lab Screw-up wasn’t the actual final Bio-Weapon?
Maybe they had not finished making it highly contagious and Highly Virulent?
Maybe the Coronavirus could never be made deadly enough, and it would be just another failed weapon project?
Or maybe we got lucky it wasn’t the finished project?

    1. Maybe you’re just speculating without evidence, and contributing to the “FIRE!!!” in a crowded theater crowd?
Anthrax is already an effective bio-weapon. A better strategy would be having a vaccine for that ready before releasing it on the world. A better strategy would be pretty much any strategy, as long as it involved a dangerous virus, which Flu Manchu is not.
Maybe they were just gonna nuke us. All your paranoid maybe’s don’t add up to a fart in a tornado.

      1. The lab virus origin is important because it implies potential deliberate action on the part of the CCP.

The point of going to war is not to kill as many people as you can, it’s to get your enemy to concede. Sort of like robbing a bank isn’t about how many guards you can kill, it’s about how much you can get away with and if no one is hurt all the better.

We’ve thrown out the charter of rights and freedoms, essentially dissolved parliament, doubled the national debt, crushed small business, impoverished a sizeable portion of the country and made them dependent on govt handouts, divided the citizens, and gotten a significant part of the population to accept an experimental medical treatment, not to mention the unseating of one the few world leaders who were resisting.

Canada, New Zealand, Australia all conceded without a shot being fired and the main culprit(s) have plausible deniability because “it wasn’t such a bad virus”.

“The robbery never took place, he didn’t have a real gun!”-YeahWell… probably

  8. No one sees what’s going on, apparently.

This is the NYT prepping all its readers for its upcoming *volte-face* on the origins of C19. Wait for a couple more stories along this line, followed by a “New evidence (i.e. Trump is out) suggests C19 leaked from Wuhan lab”. Could happen before Independence Day.

    1. BINGO!

This is just the NYT preparing the ground and “massaging the narrative” to ease the peasantry back into somnolence, before they crank up the “Klimate Krisis” to Eleven. And even that kaper will be a controlled distraction from the avalanche of legislation and executive orders specifically aimed at criminalizing hundreds of millions, and effectively declaring open season on any who challenge the Junta.

Get your affairs in order, boys and girls.

  9. Then there were the times the CDC accidentally shipped a live anthrax sample under the misapprehension that it was a de-activated sample, the time they discovered some long-forgotten biological samples that included live smallpox, and the time they shipped some bird flu samples that turned out to be the particularly nasty sort instead of the lesser variety.

Note the date on the article.

    And note:

The lapses at the world-renowned infectious disease research agency are sure to raise questions about safety at other labs studying highly pathogenic agents, including university labs that are modifying influenza strains to make them more virulent. Frieden said that “whatever you think about” such so-called gain-of-function studies, “I think it’s clearly the case that these incidents indicate that we need to really ensure that whatever work is done needs to be done safely and securely.”

    1. “The lapses at the world-renowned infectious disease research agency are sure to raise questions about safety at other labs studying highly pathogenic agents, including university labs that are modifying influenza strains to make them more virulent.”
Bio-war research is already illegal, both on national and international levels. The fact is, the psychopaths that own us are above any laws whatsoever, be they moral laws or not, same as it always was. Don’t forget to vote!

  10. It takes a special kind of retard to see what western leaders do to their own people, and then say that China is the threat. Our threats are local, from municipal to provincial to federal, so China is a quaternary threat, at worse. The fact that our municipal, provincial and federal leaders are so easily bribed is our problem, and before China was the big bogey-man it was the Saudis, who actually remain a threat that has actually bombed lots of western countries, wheras Iran has bombed no-one, but you fucking clowns are slaves to whatever media you happen to be slaves to, facts be damned. You think China did COVID? We did it to ourselves, China just provided a pretext, much to the admiration of our elected representatives.

    1. Kind of agree, but I don’t think it’s an either/or situation. Our governments are definitely the most direct threat to our freedoms or maybe it’s more accurate to say the globalists in our institutions are the biggest direct threat to our freedoms. Western governments colluded with the ccp to use the fear of a deadly virus to end our freedoms. Whether the virus is actually as deadly as claimed (it isn’t) is immaterial; the damage is done.

The real question is what, if anything, can be done to reverse it or is it now just socialism all the way down?

  11. Winning wars and taking resources is one thing. What these assholes are doing is something else altogether, and we Canadians vote assholes who would make Hitler blush into power. Govern yourselves accordingly.
