    1. Even the left-wing Globe and Mail put the story at the top of its main page. Usually the establishment press hide gang-banger stories.

    2. The police were fired upon while the attempting to stop the shooters escape. The white suv managed to drive 17 miles and then was set on fire. I noticed how heavy handed the pastor in Alberta’s arrest was but when faced with real bad guys who just assassinated someone on Mother’s Day at an international airport in broad daylight and then make good their escape after firing on the police, I guess the fact that no innocent people were killed is the brighter side, luckily the pandemic has the airport empty.

      1. Cops want to stay alive till pension time and then vamoose, they cherry-pick on the ones who, you know the rest….

    1. I haven’t been impressed by much of what Disney did ever since Walt died.

  1. Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi says some recent rallies billed as opposing the wearing of masks during the pandemic are really just “thinly veiled white nationalist” activities.

I really like Mayor Nenshi. His skin colour is beautiful. Next, he needs to put up billboards throughout Calgary denouncing white male privilege. Then he will be even better than Saskatoon Mayor Charlie Clark (who is white and despite being reelected, has not yet put up those beautiful billboards again–hurry up Charlie!)

    1. Nenshi was, is and continues to be a racist hater. An idiot as well.

      1. Trudeau will pick Nenshi to be the next Governor General.

Wouldn’t be my choice, but since Nenshi has announced he won’t run for mayor, and he won’t run in federal politics, I think Trudeau’s going to tap him for GG.

          1. It’s comments like this that make me wish Kate had a “like” or “thumbs up” button. I nearly spit my coffee out.

        1. I was thinking that Prinz Dummkopf would appoint the Ten Million Dollar Man.

    2. My employer has a news item touting their achievements in having a diverse management team.
After questioning why we don’t hire based on merit alone I have been assured by my company’s HR department that their diversity hiring schemes are in fact merit based hiring schemes because diversity IS merit.

And I was informed that their diversity hiring quotas are in place because of their own unconscious bias towards hiring white men.
I foolishly asked how they could be consciously aware of an unconscious bias, and how they could determine the direction of an unconscious bias.
That is when their pretzel logic defining diversity as merit appeared.

Put your analyst on danger pay before attempting to debate any topic with an HR department Karen.
I took pity on them and didn’t bother asking them why their HR department was 75% women if diversity is indeed merit.

      1. That sounds a lot like the idiots I had to deal with while I was teaching at Armpit College. I quit before the “diversity” nonsense became popular, but I’m sure it’s taken root there as well.

  2. Blacklock reports that the Liberal Party’s Elections Canada, will allow mail in votes to be counted after election day. That is so “American”.

    1. The only question I have is, “Will my mum’s mail in vote be for a Liberal or a New Democrat?

… my mum is dead, so I suspect her vote will be harvested by both parties.

  3. “Jesus… What Happened To Us?”

From a comment on Neo website:
I had never heard of Five Times August until I stopped by Bookworm’s blog last night. Five Times August is the music created by singer/songwriter/guitarist Bradley James Skistimas, presently based in Dallas. Here’s a song he posted just three weeks ago, titled “Jesus . . . What Happened to Us?” It’s a powerful visual as well as musical commentary on politicians’ exploitation of the pandemic and the resulting ripping apart of our social fabric:

    1. If Bob Dylan wrote a song about the last 18 months, this would be it…

      Thanks, I’ll be sharing this.

  4. Today His Imperial Highness, the Grand Duke of Harrington Lake is letting Fraulein Freeland handle the fake Question Period at his fake parliament. Great Leader is busy today with his virtual election campaign. Among other spots, he will be visiting a mosque to watch muslims get vaccinated near Toronto. The muslim vote is important.

    1. No doubt praising the BLACK doctorate of Kyle Lowry from a Nova Scotia University he never attended.
Politics runs deep between our governments politicians and this scam we refer to academia.
Really feel sorry for the kids being indoctrinated today.

    2. Heres another stupid move……

Indigenous leaders launch $2.1 billion class-action lawsuits against Canada over lack of drinking water

The claimants argue the federal government failed to provide clean water and forced First Nations communities to live in a manner ‘consistent with life in developing countries’.

They are not forced to live on the reserve in some unaccessible area.
What have they done with water equipment that was left there and had instructions how to operate them. Too lazy to get off their ass and make it work? Or waiting for whitey to come and help.
go get a job and PAY taxes like the rest of us. As I said before – when was the last time you saw them drinking water???

      1. I saw lots of natives while I was teaching at Armpit College. Some of them were my students.

Whatever their drinking water problem is, it’s certainly not due to a lack of talent.

      1. So why is Canada ignoring all of this??? I believe Provinces are still doing PCR tests and running them at the toally unreliable 38-40 cycles. I think our politicians and public health workers must be slow learners.

        1. So why is Canada ignoring all of this???
The high ratio of false positives keeps the hysteria on the boil and helps ramp up power and control, the meat and taters of all politics regardless of the brand.

  5. Breaking. Explosions heard in Jerusalem. This follows protests against Israeli security forces occupying the Al Asia mosque, and threats of retaliation by Hamas.

  6. Keep faith in humanity folks, here is a 2 minute story about a recent fire at a senior’s residence and some brave teenagers who took action, it’s enough to bring tears to your eyes…
    https://youtu.be/hruC-QvIisY

    1. The video has four dislikes. Call me a cynical old man if you wish, but despite the actions of these responsible and brave young men, any society that produces that reaction, is in need of a serious cull.

      1. Greg, wow, I never seem to notice those (thumbs up or down thingies) — some people are nutters for sure now that you brought it up.

    2. With young men like that, there’s still hope for this country.

  7. For all the proclamations of Doom and Civilizational collapse,we will keep on breeding, eating and killing each other, for that is what humans do.So trade will continue.
    Government may not.
If you, fellow readers, are not stocked up on real things that will serve you in the future..Now would be a good time.
“Temporary Hyper Inflation” and said with a straight face too boot.
    And boot it we should.
We,the herd, are always slow to react.
Sure we can be stampeded, but soon enough we build up a core of “Stampede Survivors” who personally know the cost.

The Great Toilet Paper shortage of 2020 should have taught all you need to know, just as those runs on gunstores by people with zero firearms knowledge might be a wake up call.
For what is possessing these people to seek lethal force, when they were so ignorant that they knew not of P.A.L?
As many experienced tools users have wisecracked;Gun Control, in reality, is not what the “Bill Blairs” believe.
Shoot not thy foot, nor your neighbours cow..
And now we see chaos coming down.
For our civic institutions have become unsupportable..
They cannot function for me,if I must serve all others before myself..For if I starve,I have no need of extra parasites..

Every farmer knew this, but how soon Urban Dwellers adapt..
Generations of carefully cultivated ignorance, expressed by “Electricity comes from the wall socket, meat from the butcher.Food? From the Supermarket silly, clean water? From the tap! and sewage? Totally unthought of until a sewer collapses..
Only in this fog of ignorance can the likes of Gang Green and The Assault Style Liberal Politician rise to power.

This is obvious in our voting records.
Cities create a self serving vacuum, into which the most odious things are sucked.
They also enable some of the most beautiful group creations by man.
As Kate has often said”It will take a famine”.
But it will take something more than just hunger, for the first impulse of parasites,is to demand MORE from their host.
If famine hits the cities, their first response will be to attack every pool of wealth and surviving production they can.
Only death and defeat will make entitled parasites look at themselves honestly.
Self honesty is death for our progressive comrades,if they had that ability they would not be who they are.

Which is both the hope and the fear of the immediate future.
Trade and honest negotiation are only possible between equals.
    Sad but immovable fact.
Human Nature being what it is.
So if you wish to negotiate with a city load of hysterical savages, you must have a means of stopping them killing you and taking what you had..cause that is the first impulse of emotionally retarded people..
“I FEELZ,GIMMEEE DAT” is no exaggeration.
And we have experienced decades of “Political Scientists” cultivating such social madness.

Logically, anyone who believes Western Regions of Canada can split from this collapsing Kleptocracy, without an armed militia .Is in my mind dreaming..

For no matter how they get there,if society falls apart, then those who steal, will steal by choice.
those who choose to Burn Loot Murder, will do so unchecked.
Most likely led by the armed thugs formerly of our police and military.

This has happened repeatedly through our short history.
    Can we do things differently?
Maybe, for we do have a means of communication our forbearers lacked.
But perhaps “instant communication” is part of the hazard, rather than the help, for what we are lacking is wisdom..
Which can only be acquired .
School can teach you many things, but only the School of Hard Knocks can force you to apply and thus make real such theories.

  8. Quick update on the concerns I had a few days ago about travelling to my house in B. C.

I made it to Fort St. John late yesterday afternoon. There was no checkpoint on the highway coming out of Grande Prairie. In fact, the only RCMP I saw was a constable driving out of Hythe, doing the rounds of the local area, checking campgrounds and so forth.

When I spoke with K Division in Edmonton, the officer I spoke with was a bit vague about details. I’m not sure that he or his colleagues knew what they were supposed to do.

And, by the way, having SiriusXM in my truck made the drive quite pleasant. I listened to Channel 76/Symphony Hall for most of the way and, in the final run out of GP, I switched over to 355/Met Opera Radio. I listened to most of a vintage performance of Verdi’s Aida during that time. I only switched it off because I made it into town, just when Radames was about to go on trial for treason in Act IV (darn!).

    1. When it isn’t busy up in the nether regions of Alberta and into NE BC, that’s a long lonely ride. Coming back late at night in winter you could watch the Northern Lights dance over your left shoulder, though. Racing Moose along the ditches, looking to cross.

      1. I saw a bit of wildlife after I left Grande Prairie.

Coming down South Taylor Hill, I happened to see a stretch of open pasture below road level. Two deer were feeding there.

Somewhere near the border (can’t remember which side now), I noticed a pair of swans flying over the highway.

Actually, even without SiriusXM, there’s decent radio reception for most of the route. When I drove my car to FSJ 3 years ago, I could pick up a GP FM station starting at a few minutes south of Pouce Coupe all the way to nearly Little Smoky. Soon after that, I could get a station out of Whitecourt through its Fox Creek repeater. The Whitecourt signal dropped out roughly an hour away from Edmonton.

That’s quite a change from when I drove that route more than 40 years ago. Between Sangudo and Valleyview, there was zippo to be had, though most stations were using AM on medium wave. If I was lucky, there might have been a remote signal, but those were few and far between.

      1. I got a bit nervous when a warning light came on after I had been driving for 3 hours but no associated message. I had the dealership in FSJ check and reset the software this morning. It looks like an oxygen sensor might not be working properly and there might be a problem with the diesel emission fluid level indicator.

I should still be able to get back to Edmonton in one piece, though, but my truck might be slurping a bit more fuel than it should.

Yeah, I yearn for the days when all I needed to do on my old VW Rabbit was to change the plugs, points, and condensor, check the gaps, and then take it to the dealer for the final tuning…..

        1. I had my fair share of car issues too over the years. I should write a book because there’s funny stuff. Once about 2 blocks near the car dealership my car started jerking like mad, it looked like I was doing it on purpose, a stop and go, stop and go motion. Man, was I embarrassed and hoped no one saw me in this piece of junk. Small towns, you know the feeling eh, where everyone knows everyone… “Yes, Nancy, what were you doing there, playing stop–go, stop–go, on Main street, the other day?” Ha!

          1. Shortly after my father bought the truck, it was frequently in for repair or maintenance, slowly becoming a garage queen. One day, in his German-accented English, he said, “Ach, I think I bought myself a lemon.”

I’m wondering if he wasn’t right.

  9. Barbara Kay at the National Post trashes the idea that the U.S. is a racist country.

    1. Good. People are fed up with the individual heavy-handed government dictatorships all over the Planet.

  10. This morning, I noticed a pair of sparrows were building a nest in the birdhouse I put on a spruce tree in the backyard of my house in B. C. It looks like they might be moving in.

A pair looked like they were interested in the house last year, but the April blizzard last year might have put an end to that.

The last time there were nestlings in the house was 2 years ago, but it was on a birch that has since been taken down.

It has to be a good sign, eh?

    1. There are 2 birdhouses here and the birds don’t always use them. Saw them use one only once but you’d be surprised to learn where I found old nests. One year I found 2 nests on the ground behind some shrubs by the house and once, in the kitchen stove vent. They also tried to build a nest in the crack of the front door! Sometimes one has to put a stop to their choices. I mean, really, the front door!

One day a few years ago, I had to break the news to my neighbour when I spotted birds going into the vents in her house. She commented that she could, in fact, hear loud chirping in her kitchen, so she engaged her son-in-law to inspect the vent upon my recommendation. He found stuffed grass and twigs that would amaze anyone. The mess must’ve been there for years. Once that was cleaned out he covered the vent with a grated vent cover purchased at Home Depot. That’s 2 hours work and 2 trips to the store that the computer expert never got back. She later told me that he’s really good natured type of guy and her favourite, she thought the whole thing to be quite funny.

Btw: I spied on a robin having a bath in the bird bath the other day. Thought maybe he did the naughty…
