  5. With respect to the posting about the “Dundee Girls”, this is why I have no use for the talking heads of the mainstream media. They are all “lying bags of excrement”! And then when they are proven wrong, they just double back on their wrong assumptions and say “Well, we were wrong on this one, but on the rest we are right!”

    I’ve always held the opinion that to figure out how much you will be missed when you leave an employment you will take a bucket of water, stick your hand in, pull your hand out, the hole that is left is how much you will be missed.

  10. The celebrity newsman story was well done. One line in particular resonated:

    The reporter’s job is to illuminate the story, not to become the story.

    At the local news level, there are many reporters who undoubtedly do a great job of staying in the background (a piece of advice found in Strunk and White). But should these reporters rise in prominence and importance, ego inevitably awakens in them, like a bear coming out of hibernation. It’s a hazard of the trade.
