  1. I have been pointing out for decades that the apparent hypocrisy of the left is perfectly logically sound by their own standard, which is to win by any means necessary.

    It isn’t hypocrisy – it’s a tactic.

    1. I believe you are correct. Their world is power. Being principled never enters into it. It is why conservatives fail on their field.

  2. “This has been a particularly uncomfortable week for Dr Tony Sewell.

On Wednesday, the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities, of which Sewell was chairman, issued its report, concluding that factors such as geography, family influence, socio-economic background, culture and religion have more significant impact on life chances than the existence of racism, and that while racism unquestionably exists in some areas, the progress made by ethnic minorities in Britain over the past 50 years “should be regarded as a model for other white-majority countries”.

    Cue outrage.

“But the attacks he has received this week have been on an altogether different order of vitriol. He has been called an “Uncle Tom” and “a coconut”. The Labour MP Clive Davis tweeted an image of the Ku Klux Klan (notwithstanding the fact that nine of the 10 members of the commission are of ethnic minority origin).

Sewell is said to be “shocked”. “He was expecting the report to be received negatively in some quarters and to be criticised, but the abuse has been on a different scale,” says one friend who has worked with him over the years.

Katharine Birbalsingh, the black British educator, co-founder and headmistress of the Michaela Community School in Wembley, and no stranger to insults herself, says: “It’s not Tony they hate so much, it’s what he’s saying.”

Key facts from the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities report

The report finds that while there remain disparities at the top of public and private sectors, it is an improving picture and there are increasing levels of diversity in elite professions such as law and medicine

The report also notes the pay gap between all ethnic minorities and the white majority population has shrunk to 2.3 per cent and in 2019, among those younger than 30, there was no significant pay gap for any ethnic minority group and the white majority in employment

The Commission highlights a growing divergence in educational achievement between Black Africans and Black Caribbeans

New analysis commissioned for CRED found that in 2019 GCSE exams, the Black Caribbean group was the only ethnic group who performed lower than White British pupils

Black African pupils performed above the White British average

The percentage of those from a Black Caribbean background achieving GCSE A*-C in both English and maths is 50.3 per cent, whereas it is 61.8 per cent for White British pupils and 62.7 per cent for Black African pupils

  3. My welcome?

    Huh?

Oh wait, you mean “You’re welcome”?

Right at the start that incorrect word usage rubs me the wrong way.
