23 Replies to “How Many Solar Panels Does It Take To Clean A Solar Panel?”

  1. If we could hook up the power produced by the damn things to a self circulating water washing system, we’d have a late model perpetual motion thing, but no power left over for anything else.

Plus you’d still probably have to manually clean the damn water filters daily.

  2. L- Let’s be fair here.

This problem is only for countries with warm dusty summers, not northern ones with long cold winters and repeated snowfall, nor for countries with both.

Besides working on a roof without being so tied down you can’t move violates H&S regulation.

It was much simpler back when we lived in caves. All this light hurts my eyes.

      1. I saw all sorts of stuff like that while I was doing my Ph. D. research. The only one that had any degree of credibility with me was pumped water storage.

        1. Which is still farrrrrrrr too expensive and still inefficient.

And lest I be called a Luddite and denier … I actually WANT new ideas and new technology to work. I LOVE science and technology. But both depend on mathematics and physics.

  3. How the Hell did that stupid bitch and her ilk survive infancy?

One Commenter: “We have been proven wrong but know we are right.”

Obviously in the mentally challenged mind of the liberals, facts do not matter.

  4. I truly hate and despise these damn things, but because I work in an environmental capacity for one of the WOKEST OF WOKE corporations on the planet, I am actively involved with laying the groundwork for installing these things at one of our properties. I’m using the opportunity though to inform/educate the ultimate decision makers that these damn things are hardly “green” technology (presenting info that I mostly found out about at SDA over the years). This way I’ll be able to live with myself.

    1. JDN, What a marvelous idea….why on earth hasn’t it been thought of before? I’m sure China already does this with citizens that have a poor social credit history, or perhaps the slave labor from the imprisoned Uigher’s “Sp”.

  5. Former oilsands workers in Alberta can look forward to exciting new minimum wage careers, cleaning solar panels. Or if you want real excitement, you can plant trees for Blackie.

  6. LOL, what a joke.
You have a spinning machine that you mix with dirt/sand & water. You have (sand-paper).
Ask any body shop that does (wet) sanding on paint.

    Fools.

    1. What an ironic screen name for this topic … and YES! I was thinking the same thing! I wash my own automobiles with a foam gun. I rinse my car with water … then cover it in spray-foam and let the foam loosen the dirt by dripping off the car – NO TOUCH! Only AFTER all but the most stubborn dirt is loosened do I reapply the foam and use my chenille mittens to wash the car.

And I also apply Rain-X to all my windows. It is essentially wax for your windows which does not allow rain (or dirt) to bond to the surface. I would think that all these panels were treated (monthly) with a Rain-X type coating to repel both dirt and water?

      1. Solar One, the great big solar thermal installation in the Nevada Desert, was turned-away by California because they’d contracted for a certain quantity of electricity, and the Solar One plant never did manage to produce that much – not even close – and not reliably for the amount that they did produce.

The calculation done for Solar One was that the electricity they produced would not even pay for cleaning the mirrors. Anybody else see “using helicopters to wash bugs off wind turbine blades” in this? – just curious…

LOL.. (Dustoff) is a call sign used by the US Army during Viet Nam.

If you are a ground troop and have wounded, You call for a “Dustoff” or Medevac .

I flew with the 57th medical detachment during my tour.

  7. And if elected I can guarantee full employment! (by outlawing the tractor and driving people out of the cities)

  8. No need to worry. When Microsoft Bill has blocked the sunlight, the panels will be worthless.

Hey, they already are, except in specific applications.

  9. I asked an Ontario Hydro engineer about all the windmills in Niagara and where the energy goes… He said not into the grid… Just used locally…. So Ontario Hydro spends tens of millions of dollars to provide power to a few dozen farms on windy windy days.
All the good meaning Millennials will really resent being ripped off and lied to .
