Здравствуйте (Hello) Comrade, we invite you to join us for the 2020 Communist Christmas! Or, if you’re not cool with the collectivist mindset then, to help keep your mind free of the many Scrooges (aka politicians), we offer you this lovely Christmas themed animation.
Feel free to share your best tips of the past day!

Luckily only a few weeks away from the end.
So just for laughs, tell us what you disagree with in what he told Larry King.
As usual the progressive/marxist/commie smart ass has no response, no plan, no alternative.
The end of law and order in the US? I fear you’re correct. None of the armed services swears an oath to an office or an individual, they swear it to the constitution (folks in service in the US, PLEASE correct me if I have this wrong, I got it from a WWII vet). If the constitution is ignored with regards to how to run and ratify elections, and who makes the decisions about how to do that, then don’t expect veterans to be happy, or to follow illegal orders.
The battle of Athens may prove to be a legal precedent to veterans who take action in the face of election fixing (coincidentally, by Democrats). I pray it won’t come to that.

“Blowin’ In The Wind” ~ Bob Dylan
https://youtu.be/G58XWF6B3AA
Calgary Alberta, December 21st to 22nd…
We had ~ 2 ft of snow over the last 24 hours! Was blowing in the wind and even fell in it. Twas like falling in a giant cottonball.
Shoveled it for hours on and off all day… with my friend, Tylenol.
His middle name is Extra. His surname is Strength.
He was a big help.
This evening when it cleared a weak sunshine appeared, and there was a blue and pink sky before dark. A crescent moon showed his face. Birdies were happy. I shook off their feeder and a chickadee started chirping, his greeting sounded like: “thought you’d never get here.” The holes in the feeder were clogged with snow. The little critters were happily flying in for a seed or two and then back to their hiding place inside a nearby honeysuckle bush.
Here are some pix from, apologies, the CBC:
https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/southern-alberta-calgary-snowstorm-hit-snow-1.5851237
Ibuprofen helps me more than Tylenol. Cleared enough of the driveway to get to the cul de sac road. 3 vehicles dug out of high-centres on the way to physio today (1 of them me). 4 vehicles dug out on the way home, after returning some baking stuff to friends (3 of them me – I’m happy to know that I still know how to drive in snow, and how to use a shovel when the snowplow decides “nah, you didn’t want to go there.”).
They chickadees still aren’t hungry enough to strip our choke cherry, but some of the magpies are starting too.
Stay warm! My wife has discovered that butter-ripple schnapps (with a hint of peppermint schnapps) is her favourite form of hot chocolate. I’ll stick with Irish Coffee, thanks.
Thanks for the advice.
Being a teetotaler for the last few years I figure my liver can take the abuse of a little Tylenol to get me through a whacking pile of snow shoveling.
(Weak spots: left hamstrings- I’m a ham! Ha!)
(Acetaminophen [Tylenol] is broken down and removed by the liver while Ibuprofen [Advil] on the other hand, is removed from your body by your kidneys)
True, it is better to not take any drugs. But why suffer? The age old dilemma is what to take for pain. Everything has side effects. Taken in the recommended doses and not too often, the benefits far outweigh the health risks.
Further info:
https://www.healthline.com/health/pain-relief/ibuprofen-vs-acetaminophen
P.S. After surgery, 40 years ago the nurses shot me up with Demerol for a day– it was nice, I ‘floated’ to sleep!
P.P.S. There is so much snow that I even had to make a passageway on the street for heaven’s sake! I have a snowblower but its too big to handle – never use it.
How about a snowblower that goes on strike when called to duty?
Escape Route
Yup! Good job… on the … r-i-g-h-t …side! Haha!
After a recent surgery, they told me to get extra strength Tylenol to control the pain while going home.
Then I read the instructions and warnings.
Conclusion, if it does not help, it sure can get you addicted or can kill you.
Did not use it, though I must say that I really had no need to, the pain was manageable without.
Yeah, they used to prescribe Tylenol 3 but it contains addictive codeine which causes constipation. Better to stay away from that for sure.
Wishing you a speedy recovery!

If any of you have ever attended a cattle sale or auction, you’re familiar with Ivermax being advertised. Jackets and hats are a standard in Western Canada. Ivermax is a brand name, Ivermectin is the medication used to treat parasites in cattle. Australians are taking a serious look at utilizing Ivermectin for Covid. Caution: Do not try this at home.

Just started hearing about this recently. It’s being sold in India for pennies as a covid treatment. Danielle Steel has been carefully taking about this as well. (I think she got in trouble on HCQ in the spring).

It should be pointed out that it does not prevent a guy from getting the Wuhan virus.
Methinks, the idea is that it somehow will isolate it and perhaps defeat it, hence prophylaxis.
The treatment is a different story.

The thing about Canada is that Pierre Trudeau and now his son Justin, never met a dictators arse they wouldn’t kiss.
The faster WestCan expunges the Trudeau name from our history the better.

“A month later, Fincantieri, along with Naval Group of France, one of the largest shipbuilders in the world, tried a bold move. They sent the Canadian government an unsolicited offer: the consortium would build 15 surface combatants at a fixed cost of $30 billion. The vessels would all be constructed by Irving in Halifax, ensuring Canadian jobs were protected. The offer was for the consortium’s FREMM frigate design, which was proven and in service in multiple navies. The deal would also focus on using Canadian technology on board the warships and open the way for Canadian firms to be involved in future sales of the FREMM vessels on the international market. The Liberal government dismissed the offer outright. A short time later, the Fincantieri-Naval Group dropped out of the CSC competition, citing serious flaws with the procurement process.”
I would guess there wasn’t adequate graft for the liberal mindset.

Sad but true Greg.
This morning the news media are reporting that President Trump is threatening to veto the just-agreed-upon stimulus bill. At first blush, one might think Trump supports a lower spending bill. But actually he wants $2000 in montly emergency payments for the unemployed. The Republicans on the Hill want less.
This gets to a discussion of the future of the Republican party, and the moribund conservative movement in Canada. I like the book “The Repunlican Workers Party”, which advocates that the party — as Trump did — reach out to workers, retirees and small business people. The Democratic party has gone woke, appealing to radical marxism and racist, identity politics. The neglected public fear for their jobs, churches, communities and families. The establishment left wants to destroy these four pillars.
Recall that when Trump was making his presidential run, he was attacked by neoconservatives, libertarians and rich, country-club Republicans. The latter three groups had no meaningful grassroots organizations — Trump built an excellent organization — so Trump easily defeated his establishment opponents.
Conservatism should be a big-tent movement. But I believe Donald Trump is right on all counts. I worry about Republicans returning to their musty pre-Trump past. SDAers are solidly pro PPC. But Is the PPC party pro-worker? Does it support the aspirations of average Canadians (protecting jobs, churches, communities, families)?
Buy small acreage in the in the country and raise chickens and grow potatoes and hunt.
I watched Bannon War room and he had Brandon Straka on. Bannon said that moderates of the left and right need to join up to fight the globalists. Won’t happen. The Bible belt will fall back on its sinful ways and support the the GOP county club members once Trump is deposed. We have our own conservative SDA readers who vote globalist every chance. Read’em and weep.
Donald Trump is leader of the first real workers’ and peasants’ revolution of the 21st century, not to say of the entire industrial age. That’s why he had to be stopped at any price.
Our elites know very well that the first act of the real working class after successfully taking power would be to bring them to justice. To put it another way, they and their harlots and bastards could count on good men with guns dragging them out of their palaces, shooting them in the head and taking selfies with the corpses.
You mean like they did at Waco.
Someone wake up poor wee Erin O’Toole and have him watch how easy it is to point out outrageous Librano spending.

PPC’s problem is Quebec.
Move to Alberta , Max.
Stay in quebekkie Max. Your a native son.
We know a faker when we see one.
Could you give a fella a heads up on who isn’t a faker?
Seems like it would be a much smaller list.
Although it would appear that most recent “pure laine” real conservatives from Alberta(home of real conservatives-tm), show more of that Western “all hat no cattle” syndrome than any real conservatism.
Or any solutions for that matter.
Quebecers talk with their hands, Albertans just talk.
And TROC continue to vote liberal because it works for them. Just Saying – pretty much sums it up in a previous post.
Indeed the pure laine list is short and one needs to figure out who the fakers are.
I’ll put it this way. All you guys who talk tough and taunt Alberta for being ‘all hat and no cattle’ – who are your guys that you have put forward in the maritimes, quebek ontario etc. What political party have you spawned as an antidote? Who are the leaders that you put forward? Don’t bother telling me it’s Max. He never had an original idea.
Your party is the libranos. You talk a good game but really down deep your good to go with the libranos because it works for you.
So yeh we Albertans have offered alternatives to the country and have been rejected. Fair enough but at least we continue to try.
Let us know when you come up with a viable alternative. We’re pretty reasonable people we might even throw in and do our part not just sit on the sidelines an grouse.
David I think you might have missed the obvious. If all the pork and gifts abroad are taken out of the Porkulous Bill,$2000 for working stiffs in need,is not quite as extravagant.
Secondly “free money” at home is a little(not much) saner than sending abroad.
The arrogance of the Uni-Party is almost deliberately provocative, are they hoping to create another fake crisis, before the citizens are really cranked?
Blacklock reports that it costs almost 900 dollars a day to provide free lunches for MPs. Please remember that they are entitled to their entitlements.

The real picture from Sweden.

Greg, people hate the truth. It is far easier to convince someone of lie than the fact that they have been lied to. A paraphrase of Mark Twain.
And here are statistics for Alberta from 2001 to 2020.
“Number of deaths in Alberta, Canada from 2001 to 2020
https://www.statista.com/statistics/568041/number-of-deaths-in-alberta-canada/#:~:text=This%20statistic%20shows%20the%20number%20of%20deaths%20in,a%20total%20of%2027%2C226%20people%20died%20in%20Alberta.
It shows steady incline, today’s data not out of the yearly increases as a trend, possibly related to the increase in population.
This is not necessarily to say that its not sad.
Every one of us here today are going to be gone a hundred years from now.
Its the nature of things.
Based on 2019 stats can numbers 787 people die on average in Canada everyday from all causes. I wonder how many shit downs will be required to solve that?
I’ll bet that is similar to the picture elsewhere.
Adolf’s health agency has finally approved the Moderna vaccine. Canada expects a couple of boxes by the end of Dec. under Operation Sloth Speed. Too bad all the initial shipments are going to indian reservations. But then we have to prevent another genocide by white “settlers”.
Good. I want anyone and everyone to get it and prove to me that it is actually not going to kill me. I know it is selfish but I really do not give a damn.
That has been my thought all along. Going to be in a lot of people before I qualify (if I even want it) or need it to do my normal travel and work.
Lots of opportunity to see either of them in action.
I don’t feel in the least bit guilty about it either.
My only issue is if the media reports it honestly.

An important cautionary tale that small “c” conservatives need to read. Two clear lessons to take away from the article:
1) The left (NDP, CBC, the Toronto Star & their fellow travellers) will do everything, including lies and slander, to defeat conservatives;
2) When such an attack starts, the victim has to fight back immediately with all possible weapons, and other conservatives have to leap to their defence.
“What happened to Caylan Ford 20 months ago, when she was running as a candidate for the United Conservative Party in Alberta, should terrify anyone thinking of running for public office. What has happened to her since should worry the rest of us.
Now, she is finally fighting back. After her candidacy was ended by false accusations that she is racist and a “white supremacist,” she’s suing those she says defamed her, including the Alberta NDP, the CBC and the Toronto Star. Anyone concerned about the polarization of our political discourse should be rooting for her.”

She’ll be lonelier than a Liberal without a public purse to plunder.
Conservatives will have her back kind of like how the Roman Senate had Caesar’s.
The Media slandering and lying about conservatives happens about as often as the sun rising.
Canadians are just a big blob of submissive meat.

I received a survey from my local “faux” conservative MP . Apparently the NDP and Singh intend to support Justin for the full 4year term. I digress, but is this supposed to be a news flash? Anyway they are asking for a yes or no answer as to if I support this. Here is the problem/ If there is an election tomorrow Justin will mop the floor with the Conservatives. He is looking for an opportunity to have an election. We will be stuck with Justin likely for 5 more years with a majority. The only hope is to keep him in there long enough for ill informed people can understand the disaster he has created. The cons have done absolutely nothing that will get them elected ,starting with the missed opportunity to have Leslyn Lewis lead. Even if they were elected it would only be slightly better than the Turd. Actually, our only hope is a new country .

Perhaps we cannot prevent our transition to communism, but can we at least try to make it the Russian rather than the Chinese version.
My four top reasons for picking the Russian variant: 1) beautiful athletic women; 2) inspiring national anthem; 3) great classical music; 4) better chance of learning the language.
My rationale for reasons 1 & 2:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ul_qm3Ym8-k&list=PLYuntYqeOYXh1MtMTLZhOVPdBeunudz64&index=7
And here’s an example for reason #3:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Itdm46ZVLfA
Actually, Pictures at an Exhibition was originally written for piano and was arranged for orchestra by French composer Maurice Ravel.
As an aside, the Voice of Russia (formerly Radio Moscow), when it was still on shortwave, used the opening of that section as its signature at the start of its English broadcasts.
BADR: a great piece. Russians sure know how to compose inspiring music. There seems to be a hint of Tchaikovsky’s 1812 overture in the final part of Pictures at a Museum.
This is my favourite version of the 1812 overture on YouTube (but not from a Russian orchestra)? It includes ringing bells from a church bell tower, fireworks, but the cannon is suspect:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSbph7U5gVw
Some arrangements of that piece have the hymn at the beginning sung by a choir.
BADB: Didn’t know that. I’ll look for that arrangement on YouTube.
OttawaMJ:
If I’m not mistaken, the opening is based on the old Russian imperial anthem. I recall one recording of that which had the Don Cossack chorus singing it.
Some may not be partial to that jazzed up version of the Russian national anthem provided in my original posting, so try this traditional version (but similarly inspiring visually):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSbph7U5gVw
I gotta get in on this.
When the Soviet union collapsed I suggested we abscond with their national anthem. Hell they were in disarray and might not have noticed…and if they objected we mighta offered our tune as constellation….
I might also suggest a 5th reason. Russian classic literature. Sure you have to wade through it but their classic writers knew how to weave a plot. It’s winter, when will there be a better time to read Anna Karenina- all 800 pages?
“their classic writers knew how to weave a plot”
My son has read many of those long long books and I asked him what attracts him to the books?
What you said plus he says the writers have sophisticated insights into human nature; saints and sinners, angels and complete SOBs; they’re all there.
….and history. My son claimed that when he read War and Peace he learned more world history than the 4 years of history he took in high school.
One of my favourite scenes from the movie The Hunt for Red October:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsC2ETsZL0g
The clip cuts off just before the USS Dallas’s sonar officer loses contact with what turns out to be the Red October, making the comment, “I thought I heard….. singing….”
Comrade abtrapper. I think we are fellow travellers.
If I had known of your suggestion to adopt what became an anthem without a home when the Soviet Union officially disbanded in 1991, I would have been a strong supporter. It was free for the taking until 2000.
According to Wikipedia, this rousing anthem had no official status from 1991 until 2000 when Russia ditched the anthem it adopted in 1990 and restored the glorious anthem of the Soviet Union, but with new words.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_Anthem_of_the_Soviet_Union
I was impressed by it when I recall it being played before each game of the 1972 Canada-Russia hockey tournament.
Who wrote our milquetoast national anthem Gord Downey?

Watch “Chaos Ensues as Woman Wakes Up to Find Raccoon in Christmas Tree”(5:05)
https://youtu.be/BNg5c5AIByU
Brave lady. I wouldn’t come anywhere close to a raccoon without a shotgun in hand or a very large baseball bat. I’m surprised her dog escaped with just scratches.
She should have left it there in the tree and called a pest control company to get it out of the house. From a website on the topic:
“While not all raccoons have rabies, raccoons in general are major hosts of rabies in the U.S., especially in the eastern part of the country where their populations are increasing. Just because a raccoon is active during the daytime, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s carrying rabies. However, there are some indicators that a raccoon could be infected with the rabies virus. Key symptoms of a rabid raccoon include confusion and disorientation, leg paralysis or difficulty walking, wet and tangled hair, significant aggression, and production of very loud, unusual noises. Rabid raccoons may also foam at the mouth and have watery eyes.”
Question is will she have to have the whole house cleaned from top to bottom? Does the rabies virus remain in the house after the raccoon is gone. I’d be asking a lot of questions.
Still it was funny when the tree fell. That always makes me laugh. Happened to me once!
Say, nold– Think I’ll take your advice and abt’s, and get me some Russian books this winter. I read some James Michener. They too, are full of history.
Have a good one.

Before you try and wade through some of the big ones I’d like to make a suggestion: A Country Doctors Notebook by Mikhail Bulgakov.
A book of short stories but you will live them. It is classic Russian literature.
Another is: One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. It’s modern day but written in classic Russian style.
Many thanks. I shall add these to my list and get them.
You made some great suggestions last Spring, in May, of your favourite American (Southern) authors which I made note of.
I once started Fyodor Dostoevsky’s “The Idiot” and I want to tackle that one too. Again. And hopefully finish it!
Hey Abt– Have a good one!
