Last week, the New York Times published an opinion piece under the headline, “Saying Good-bye to Hanukkah.” The article was written by a non-Jewish woman, with an assimilated Catholic mother and an assimilated Jewish father. In her column, she declared that she and her non-Jewish spouse will not be lighting the menorah with their non-Jewish children because it just isn’t meaningful to them.

It ought to go without saying that a non-Jewish woman’s decision not to celebrate a Jewish holiday is a non-event. So why did the NYT publish it?

  1. In January 1966 the New York Times ran a column header that said ‘GOD IS DEAD’ DEBATE WIDENS. I think they meant to insert a comma after the word ‘Dead’.
    They wouldn’t dare say that today as they would also be offending Muslims.
    Jewish Americans out-donated all other groups among those who supported the Dems in 2016. Now that they have Dominion on their side they won’t need Jewish support. Although they will still be looking for the money. Watch out now for media backed anti–semitism amongst Progressives.

      If liberal Jew were as smart as their conservative Jew brethren, they would all be voting conservative, but for some unknown reason, they don’t.

    Because it was actually an anecdotal piece about families becoming more secular with each generation, a personal reflection about parents and children and traditions that bind, published not in the NY Times’ news or opinion section, but in its lifestyle pages, as part of a holiday special feature.

    Honestly, is there nothing that you won’t object to and complain about?

    1. Sir, you are doing the same thing the NYT and the author are doing. The point is that it was a “nothing” event. So, why did the author and the NYT make a big deal out if it?

      The answer is to make a big deal portraying how “enlightened” the author is to reject it and belittle those people who do celebrate it. Normal people, including those who happen to be atheists, would not make a big deal out of not celebrating Hanukah.

      I don’t happen to celebrate Diwali. I’m certainly not going to waste a newspaper page crowing about it and belittling those folks who do.

    The perverts and idolaters of New York City, whose hatred of Israel grows in proportion with their persistence in defying, angering and disgusting their Creator, worshipping money, their genitals, the Chinese emperor and literally anything else but Him, will be the first to be burnt to radioactive ash. Including Sarah Prager (whose worthless opinion the NYT printed), her lesbian partner in perversion and the two pups she whelped.

    The Jewish nation will only endure, for as long as Jews are as willing to slaughter the offspring of pigs, dogs and monkeys who hate Israel and her God as the dogs, pigs and monkeys are to slaughter Jews—and that’s plenty.

    So what’s the excuse of Gentiles who fear the God of Israel?

The very orthodox Jews, consider Israel to be an illigitimate state, that needs to be destroyed, Rabbi’s regularly travel to Tehran to discuss this need , with the Iranian leadership. I remember showing one of your posts about the god of the Jews to one of my Jewish friends, and she called you an idiot!

    I don’t remember Alan Dershowitz supporting Christians who objected to, for example, “Piss Christ”. I’ve seen every reference to Christmas wiped away from my kids schools (funnily enough, the Islamic kids can hold prayer). Obama denounced Christians for ‘holding on to their religion’. *My* religion has been sneered at, vilified, denounced, marginalized, and ridiculed since the 1960’s.

  16. It seems that one of the biggest points of Glicks article was that Netanyahu is a much better leader than obozo ever was or can be. He correctly pointed out the feebleness of obozo’s foreign policy and lack of common sense. As for the NYT doing anything but progressive bullshit, who cares? The only reason it’s read today is for comedy and argumentative data points. No one takes the Times seriously as journalism.

  17. The nytimes published it because they must, daily, show how irrelevant they are to a functioning society. The last real journalist they employed died in 1952. He is buried under the sidewalk outside the front door. They serve as the figurehead ministry of propaganda for those that want changes, but don’t know what they really want. So, their self appointed job is to shove a long stick down the outhouse hole and stir. Yep, the old, dead grey lady. KMA.
