    1. It’s not about the guns.
      We have lots of machinists and tooling to make our own boomsticks.
      It’s about getting and keeping AMMO.
      Try getting loading supplies.
      The hardest thing to acquire now is primers.
      Lead , powder, brass are easy in comparison but are starting to be hard to find.

  7. As far as bad faith actors go, Freeland is likely the worst liar I’ve ever heard.
    The big reveal is that the folks at finance may have finally gotten through to her and now she’s conflicted on whether to risk the fate of her predecessor or ignore them to keep favour with the sock monkey.
    Hence the “I could really use some good ideas right now” and the threats of higher taxes.

    Go after them first, then get back to me when those Trust Funds are empty.

  10. I think I have the perfect solution, if we stimulate the production of rope and perhaps provide a lot more urban illumination, to reduce crime, in the form of lamp-posts, then the rope and the lamp-posts could be part of a larger plan to improve the economy.

    There is a critical shortage of rope and the unintended consequences of that can be seen all around us.

    Mind you, I tended to hear a different undertone to this rather startling request for information. Perhaps it has now dawned on our government that a good chunk of the stimulus went out to people who don’t really need the cash and perhaps applied just because it was out there and they wanted some. And yes, some would own homes. Others might not. There are people around with plenty of surplus cash, it makes sense if (a) the government is giving it away no questions asked and (b) there’s hardly anything to do or anywhere to go for those who managed to hold on to their incomes.

    But I would divide it into two parts, the unethically obtained stimulus money should get clawed back somehow, the surplus income is entirely discretionary and hands off it, Liberals, it’s not yours to take. People have been bunkered down at home for almost a year now. It hits some harder than others. Myself, I have a lot of interests that I already pursued with on-line communities, so it has not been all that bad, the golfing season was a bit lame especially before people figured out the dual track infection reality (healthy people generally not coming down with much if anything, unhealthy people at lethal risk). Our travel plans were put on hold indefinitely. But for others who were just retiring and hoping to travel a lot, visit all their family members across the country, etc, it has been a bigger shock to the system. So when things do return to normal, we hope, later in 2021, then people have every right to splurge using the money they saved up during this ordeal. The government has no right to it. They can play the role of trying to co-ordinate the best incentives to stimulate the neediest parts of the economy (tourism for example). I’m sure that will happen naturally anyway and it won’t take much work to get it to happen.

    No what we need is less tax, less interference, and above all, a cessation of this disturbing trend towards a fictional green economy that will employ very few people, produce very little of value, and crash and burn a few years later taking a lot of other things down when it does so.

    The only way to get rid of that concept is to get rid of the power of the political parties who espouse it. The CPC need to get real and stop going along to get along with the globalists. And the voters need to realize that only clear alternatives like the PPC are really worth support until such time as the CPC smarten up and abandon their wishy washy accomodationist policies.

    Meanwhile, let’s get that rope production up, we’re going to need a lot of rope in the near future, the lamp-posts not such a priority, there’s plenty of trees about.

With a little original thinking and leadership, Canada could quickly become and be perceived as one of the greatest nations in the world. But we will not arrive at that destination by impoverishing ourselves in pursuit of a chimera.”

  12. There is only one way to prevent our country from going right in the dumper and that is to get rid of Trudeau and his ilk. We can complain all we want but nothing will change until we get rid of this incompetent. I just can’t understand how we keep electing him. I would have thought that Canadians would have come to the conclusion that he is a wanna-be dictator just like his father and God only knows how we put up with him. I don’t care what yoiur political party preference is this guy has to go and fast before it is too late.
