          I’ve frequently ranted here on SDA about my experience at a certain congregation I was, regrettably, associated with while I was at UBC. One of the reasons for my displeasure was the constant bleating from the pulpit about how all the world’s problems will be solved by “wealth re-distribution” and that I should feel guilty for having money in the first place. Not a word about those of us who started with very little, worked hard, and actually earned what we have, so forget about eating one’s bread by the sweat of one’s brow.

          The logic was that if someone in Coleslawvania isn’t rich enough to own a Lamborghini or doesn’t have Perrier coming out of his kitchen faucet, I shouldn’t strive for, let alone have, that, either. Of course, the assumption was that the aforementioned Coleslawvanian actually wanted a fully-kitted Lamborghini and piped-in Perrier, though I don’t think the minister or any of the SJWs in the congregation ever checked.

          Never mind that my wealth was already being “re-distributed” through taxes and government policy which I never voted for. Nope. Having money left over for my own use was considered abhorrent.

          I could go on but I think you get the picture.

    1. Canada thinks they can win a trade war with the US? Not likely. The US is right to put a 10% tariff on Canadian aluminum. Canada is using tariff free imports of Chinese aluminum for Canadian consumption while exporting a similar amount to the US tariff free. The net effect is that Chinese avoid the 10% tariff the US charges. Trump rightfully fixed that problem. Why didn’t we fix it first?

            As a kid, my now deceased brother forced me to watch hockey night in Canada with him on Saturday Night. I eventually went to the Forum for live action but when the expansion took place the original 6 teams lost meaning for me.

      1. At least the military moved in and took over care of abandoned seniors in both Quebec and Ontario. Didn’t see any members of the various Health Authorities volunteering to do same.
