    1. As I have been saying for decades, conservatives are just liberal lite, no change, no vision and no conservatism.

    2. That’s still not going to convince me to vote Conservative in the next election. He’s going to acknowledge the west, but only that there’s a direction in Canada that has that name. He will, instead, focus on the east–not just Ontario and Quebec, but to a location far away, if you get my meaning.

      1. B A , I think I am about to embrace George Carlin’s view of voting. My last vote was not so much wasted as it showed me the futility of being a very conservative man in a communist country. There will never be enough people like me to change the direction that the terminally stupid have put us on. Yes, COMMUNIST is what Canada is becoming. The Chinese will walk in here, oh, they already have and Canadians will bow down tom their masters. Freaking idiots.

    Rempel (my MP) has potential and my support/vote. But this bodes ill for the future of the party. Broad based support does not come from kicking out those with minor disagreements.

    1. Especially when you made a conscious effort to woo his supporters in your campaign and decline to respond to Pam Damoff’s call for his expulsion from caucus. I still think O’Toole was a better choice than Peter McKay, but that is setting the bar at the level of a speed bump. No magnanimity in victory by O’Toole. How likely will he be as ungracious in defeat?

    The brightest object in the southern sky late in the evening is Jupiter. Its four Galilean moons can usually be seen with a spotting scope. (I say “usually” as those moons change position from one night to the next.)

    If you stretch your arm out, about a hand width to the left of Jupiter and a bit further up, you’ll see a yellow object. That’s Saturn and it’s now tilted in such a way that the rings are visible through that same spotting scope.

    I was outside on my balcony a short while ago. Both are clearly visible and are well above the southern horizon. Try taking a look with a small telescope or, maybe, a pair of binoculars. The view is worth the effort.

      1. On second thought…maybe I’ll use a 50mm f/1.8 instead – longer (~10 sec), exposure + crop should be able to get both in the frame. 32-64 hundred ISO.
        Yep…plan.

        Night shooting is a ton of fun.
        One day I’ll acquire me a star tracker.

        1. I got some good night shots using ASA 25 film. Roughly 10 seconds without a clock drive should be enough to get a decent exposure. Anything longer than that will result in star tracks.

        2. I did great moon shots with the Nikon 300f/4, Milky Way with manual Rokinon 12mm, 14mm and Nikon 24mm and even the 50mm. Anything under 30 seconds works and you don’t have to bump the ISO much. I’ve shot Jupiter with the 300/f4, Jupiter is just a bright object unfortunately. Best shoot after a rain in a clear sky. I also used the 300mm on a tripod for bug shots, if you can believe that. Super Dragonflies!

          1. I inherited my father’s spotting scope (60 mm zoom) which has seen better days.

            I get a much better view of Jupiter with my main telescope, a 10 cm 400 mm zoom reflector, with a clock drive. A number of years ago, the conditions were good enough one night from inside city limits that I could barely make out some of the cloud bands. (No Great Red Spot.)

            On another night, I set up my telescope for observing Jupiter and let the clock drive run. Over the course of several hours, I could see Io changing positions.

          2. A couple nights ago, the Moon was directly below Mars, quite a sight! If you stay up later, you can see Venus rising in the east as well, maybe mercury just before sun rise. In December, Saturn and Jupiter will be within less than a degree from each other. Should make a lovely picture with the two titans in one frame! This happens every 20 years or so..
            All planets travel along a line in the sky called the ecliptic, you will always see them along this arced line moving forwards and backwards in retrograde motion. Hence, the word Planets comes from the Greek “Planetes” meaning “wanderers”.
            There was a night a month or so back when ALL planets (yes, I include Pluto in that list) were visible in the sky at one time, in one sweeping view, from the east, to the west, just before sunrise!

            There’s a very large star party that occurs every year in southern Saskatchewan called the SSSP Sask. Summer Star Party, with upwards of 300 attendees every year! Check the RASC site for where one might be in your area! http://rasc.ca/star-parties-and-events
            *Amateur astronomer here, mix of scope sizes and types (reflector/refractor/catadioptric) prefer visual observing, like to think about the fact my own eyes are catching those ancient photons!

            The only place close to where I live in Edmonton that sold anything approaching astronomical gear was the Science Shop located in Southgate Shopping Centre. It closed several years ago and I wasn’t all that impressed with what it had in stock, though I did order my solar filter and clock drive there.

If Canadians don’t wake up and see that Trump is the only thing that is going to save them from full blown socialism and ultimately communism, their children and grandchildren at the very least are doomed to be very poor and live in rags. If Trump loses in November, the socialists take full control of the US. they will not tolerate a country on their northern border to be anything other than socialist. They will pour millions if not billions into the Canadian election to see Fuck Face Trudeau elected.
      Are you Canadians ready for a 15% or 20% GST? A 15 or 20% carbon tax on gasoline, heating oil, natural gas, propane etc etc. Well, it’s coming with a Trudeau government. Then comes the RRSP claw backs, 50% tax on inheritance, sky high income tax, and the list will go on. Trump is the only man in the entire world that will save Canada and the US.

  14. When the Canadian colonies decided not to break with the Americans and join their revolution it exposed who really controlled the territory. Canada has always been about control by an elite located in TO and Montreal. As Trudeau prepares to finish off Alberta as any possible challenge to that entrenched power Westerners will have to decide whether to succomb or resist. When will the tipping point be reached? I suggest it is now. The CPC is not a viable option.
    I was a 50 year conservative but that party cannot represent the West anymore and hope to form a majority government. The CPC is minimizing it’s problems in the West as people take up the Wexit cause. I do not support the CPC with money anymore and will vote Wexit with financial support and my vote. Western Canada has an economy and a culture worth perserving.

And Blacklock reports on how the Chinese ambassador at a Canadian union leaders meeting, ranted that factory jobs will never return to Canada from China.

He was in his new Angry Adolf persona, as he pledged over two hundred million dollars for black businesses because Canadians are racist bastards. I had to turn over to his CTV network, because once again his CBC didn’t provide translation services from French. Great Leader angrily brushed aside questions on the size of the deficit.

  25. This November Alek Scarlatos is running as a Republican for Congress in Oregon’s 4th District. He was one of the three heros who fought off a terrorist attack on a Paris bound train in August 2015. They saved many lives.

    Saw the Clint Eastwood movie “The 15:17 To Paris,” the attack itself was well acted as the three actors in the movie played themselves.
