    1. Like a clogged sewer, the policies of the left regarding micro managing everyone while looking constantly for anything that could be misconstrued as racism is backing up and spilling over the bowl onto their shoes.

      Canada is not a racist country. However the world does contain racists … some of them may live in Canada. So what?

      There are a hell of a lot more people in Canada who discriminate against white men than do against colored folks.

  10. In 2000 Torstar had a book value of nearly $2 billion. A couple weeks ago it sold for $45 million or what a string of 15 Tim Hortons might sell for to private equity.

    Private equity can be ruthless. Will be interesting to see these little babies get their asses kicked.

  11. Except that Rosie DiManno was one of the very few sane voices on the Toronto Star. She might actually be conservative. This isn’t “eating their own”. This is cancelling someone who’s not a full left-wing moonbat. And the “outrage” at her email is ridiculous. She is right to protest the micro-managing of de facto dedicated SJW editorial position.

    1. Don’t kid yourself. Rosie is “full left-wing moonbat.” She’s just not used to anyone telling her what to do. Lefties hate it when the leadership and ideas they’ve been calling for all along come to pass and then find that they’re headed to the gulag for re-education. But, THAT’S…THE…WAY…IT…ALWAYS…GOES.

  13. It is time to infuse Christmas cheer and year-end goodwill into my relations with the disgraced Toronto Star. Columnist Rosie DiManno’s Monday reply to my column last Saturday was based mainly on unexceptionable quotes from me — so in a sense, I wrote much of her article. I agree with her that Barbara (my wife) and Barbara’s former husband (and my dear friend) George Jonas are certainly better writers than I am. My only objections to what DiManno wrote are that Barbara has not had “five” husbands, that she has never had cosmetic surgery, and that my “remainder-bin biographies of dead people” (most biographies are of dead people) have sold a quarter-million copies.

    My recollection of our meeting 13 years ago is different, also.

    I recall that she threatened to jump off Christie Blatchford’s roof if I didn’t hire her, and I said that “That would be an over-reaction.” And when someone else said she wanted to show if she could fly, I said “So jump.” But it doesn’t much matter, and is no basis on which to embitter relations for 13 years. (My clearer memory of that party is of another female journalist who offered me sexual intercourse in exchange for an interview, an offer I declined with thanks and a commendation for her enterprise.)

  14. People, you don’t know how communist this is. Went through this kind of communist actions while growing in a socialist country run by communists.
    You cannot even imagine and probably won’t believe that what the “journalist” are doing is right out of the communist playbook.

    Communist rule is just around the corner.

    The interesting thing is that while growing under the communists, we never ever expected it to change.
    It has.
    Freedom came to central European countries with surprising ease at the end of nineties of the past century.

    Coming to this country on Friday December 13 1968 starting a new life many of us would never believe that North America is going to turn communist.
    Its getting there.
    Diktat of unknown origin is taking over with same ease.
    Nobody in public will oppose this rotting of civilization.

    Well, the following generations are going to have to go through communist hell before anybody but anybody realizes what is going on.

    A sad story for a country that once in over a half of the 20th century had the second highest standard of living.
    No more.

      If I saw Russian tanks in the streets of my city today, I’d fall to my knees and thank God.

      Normalization was nothing compared to what the people who bankrolled the October Revolution have in store for us. Brezhnev stopped well short of deporting the Czechs and Slovaks to Siberia and replacing them with people less likely to make trouble for the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. (Who might he have chosen? The Gypsies?)

      1. If you remember that far back, Brezhnev packed the whole government of that country, put Dubcek in prison.
        It was only due to the noise of the people that they did not kill the whole government.
        Just could not do it.

        Then came the occupation, I know, I was there, a first hand witness to all that communist bullshit.
        That’s why I came to this country.

        Seems the world is going in circles as though a law of nature.

        Though you also may remember the old chubby Nikita, he said in the UN something to the effect, that he does not need to conquer the free world, they will do it all on their own.
        Just about done.

    The smart ones can make a lot more money in PR—which is all most mainstream “journalism” is.

  18. The source of most of the disease that produces all these alleged ‘anti racists’ in Canada and the US, is the education system of government schools run by Marxist teachers unions and Marxist teachers/profs who do no understand what they believe.
