  1. Sadly for Joan, checking underneath her car before starting it will now be a morning ritual.

  2. As I posted a few days ago a hypothetical conversation between the sock monkey and the civil service detailing how “push back “ works.

JT:”I was told you where reviewing this new program”
Underling:”well yes Mr Prime Minister, but I don’t think we should be talk..”
JT:” yes I know that it would be improper for us to even discuss this matter, but I just want to make it clear that I cannot advise you to
    DIRECT THIS CONTRACT TO WE,
Furthermore you and your staff have to be extra vigilant to ensure that it did not appear that
I AM DIRECTING YOU TO RECOMMEND WE AS THE ONLY ORGANIZATION THAT CAN PERFORM THIS CONTRACT”
underling:” sir this seems highly inappropriate, we really shouldn’t be having…”
JT:”I understand your anxiety and I want to make it clear that I won’t be influencing you on this, and I know that you will make sure it does not appear as though I influenced the decision to
RECOMMEND WE FOR THIS SOLE SOURCED CONTRACT
    I trust you understand”
    Underling:”yes sir”

    1. Exactly, Joseph. These things rarely take the form of directives – they just require “understanding”… an understanding fueled by the desire for advancement and fear of the consequences for failing to take the “understood” course.

      1. Exactly

“Remember you cannot ask me again, and I cannot even suggest THIS IS WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO”

the smart civil servants should have an exit strategy and carry recording devices like Veritas does.

      1. At first, after the standard is established no.
The relationship between WE and every cabinet member (particularly those adjacent to Toronto Center) is pretty clear and they all benefited from their 24/7 campaigns outside of the writ.
Do a search on any of the cabinet members to see when the last time they appeared with the brothers.
        It’s like a LPC PAC.

      2. “This is not our first rodeo.”
Said the Canadian Defense bureaucrat who helped frame Admiral Norman, by instructing his staffers not to write down Norman’s name in any official documents, so as to hide their true intentions.

  3. Joan Bryden just loves Trudeau and his Liberals. Try not to gag when you read her recent tongue bath of Trudeau’s Health Minister:

“Liberal insiders are relieved to have Ms. Hajdu at Health Canada’s helm during the crisis. She is widely perceived as one of the government’s best communicators – smart and knowledgeable but plain spoken, someone who can deliver tough messages in a calm, down-to-earth way while still managing to convey compassion for people who are fearful or suffering – as she did when she choked up a couple of weeks ago as she urged Canadians to be kind to one another.”

    1. MJ, great post. Joan Bryden, over the past two or three decades, has been a consistent mouthpiece, a shameless mouthpiece, for the Liberal party. And the Canadian Press is co-owned by the Toronto Star and Globe and Mail, two pro-Liberal newspapers.

  4. Just rummaging through the weeb and came across this

And sharing the stage with the Red Dwarf?
None other than the brothers Kielburger.

“ Joining the National Ballet onstage as Cannon Dolls this season are Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, founders of Free the Children, WE Day and ME to WE Craig and Marc Kielburger, author Margaret Atwood, contemporary artist Charles Pachter, family entertainers Sharon and Bram, professional contractor and TV host Mike Holmes, host of Food Network Canada’s Top Chef Eden Grinshpan, hosts of CBC’s q Tom Power and Radio 2 Morning Raina Douris, hosts of TVO’s The Agenda Steve Paikin and Nam Kiwanuka, and founders of Oliver and Bonacini Restaurants Peter Oliver and Michael Bonacini.”

  5. “Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the idea you have freedom of choice. You don’t. You have no choice. You have owners. They own you. They own everything. They own all the important land, they own and control the corporations that’ve long since bought and paid for, the senate, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pocket, and they own all the big media companies so they control just about all of the news and the information you get to hear. They got you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else. But I’ll tell you what they don’t want. They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them.”

    1. That is why the middle class is being decimated. It’s not by accident. No elitist country can exist with a middle class reality in it’s way.

The low end scum is just fine and dandy so long as they vote correctly. If not … the vote will become unavailable.

  6. * YAWN*

Nothing will happen to the man/child … nothing will change.

This is Canada … the world’s dumbest banana republic.

  7. One glass of orange juice, $16.00.
    CHANGE THE GOVERNMENT!!!!

Thank the media and teachers for creating stupid voters.
Now we’re stuck with Finance Barney.

    1. Oh come now Stan.
What can possibly go wrong that would make the country run out of other people’s money?

      1. +++Joseph, that is good, as we just saw what will make the country run out of all money.
