          3. Neil Young was – how should I word it? – a piece of shit. He would get bored in the middle of a recording session or concert tour and leave his band mates high and dry. Everyone other than Steve Stills hated him.

            Last Winter, I listened to the YouTube of the CSN&Y Reunion Concert. They all sounded awful, sorry to say. I kept hoping the next song or then, the next song after that, would be better, but it didn’t happen. I was busy cooking and had no time to shut it off — though I don’t think I finished listening to all of it. It was so disappointing.

Hey SDA peeps, I’ve been under a rock for a while, and have not been able to sweep the net for a comparison of what Canadian provinces are doing to keep the death rate of the ChiCom WuWHO killer flu. Has anyone seen a comparison of treatment protocols by province? Is the death rate lower now because of treatment?

    1. The fatality rate is less than 2 tenths of 1%. No matter where you go. No worse than the seasonal flu except in the US where for some reason they think lying about the numbers somehow makes things better.

        1. Clearly, you did not pay attention in Grade 5 when percentages were taught. Canada has a population of 37,000,000. On Monday, August 10, http://www.msn.ca reported that Canada had 120,000 cases (active and resolved) for a percentage of .3243 of the overall population. As well, it was reported that there have been 9,000 deaths due to the Chinese Flu. Again, this translates to a 0.02432 % of the overall population.
          Yes, it is sad for the families of those who died. But overwhelmingly, the deaths have been old people and people with compromised immune systems. I am 68 and have very bad lungs and bronchial tubes. The last time I was sick was April 15 – May 15, 2019. I am retired, so am self-isolated to a certain extent, but I am careful as to what activities I engage in.

            People refuse to hold more than a single thought in their heads which is why I no longer bother arguing Wuhan Flu.

            Yes initial fears were overblown.
            Yes the lockdown, at a great costs to freedom and prosperity is keeping the disease low. You would have much higher counts had the lock down was lifted. Should it be lifted? Probably. But you cannot expect low counts to persist in that case.

            More to the point, any attempts at measuring mortality as percentage of population are misleading. you cannot compare mortality rate from Wuhan during the lockdown to mortality rate from flu without lockdown. Try to process it please.

        3. You’re confusing case fatality rate and mortality rate. They’re not the same, and case fatality rate is highly sensitive to the amount and quality of testing.

  7. The Loeb-Leopold murder case has a bit of similarity to the Millard-Smich murder of Timothy Bosma … especially Millard , plenty of money to buy any truck he wanted but he completely planned out taking a truck for a test drive , kill the owner and incinerate the body.

  9. I would have liked to have been in the courtroom to hear Clarence Darrow argue against capital punishment for the young men, Leopold and Loeb. Eventually capital punishment was abolished in some Countries, given the scientific reasons, as stated.

    In 1967, a moratorium was placed on the death penalty in Canada. But it was not until 1976 that Canada formally abolished the death penalty from the Criminal Code. The House of Commons narrowly passed Bill C-84. By then, Canada had hanged 710 people since capital punishment was enacted in 1859.

    1. I am not a football fan, but I respect those who enjoy the game. Yes, it is sad that there will be no season this year, but it is even sadder that the big loan of money to build the stadium in Regina, has no means of being re-paid. So the taxpayers will be stuck with this again.
      A good friend and I solve the world’s problems every Saturday night in epic phone calls. Both he and I agree that the “social landscape” will be very different in the coming years as processes which have been started, will be accelerated by this scamdemic. I am thinking the demise of the Canadian Postal Service, the death of shopping malls and the decline of public education – parents have already discovered that the school curriculum can be covered in 3-4 hours per day. Parents who care will stump up the money to send their children to private or charter schools OR continue with home-schooling. Public schools will only be for the children of parents who are poor or don’t care about their offspring’s education. Teachers will become baby-sitters only.
      I could be wrong, but I don’t think so.

      1. Or, Big Momma – children of parents who both have to work outside the home to provide for the family and for whom private or charter schools are not affordable/available. It’s not everyone who has the luxury of choice.

            It depends on the type of slide rule. The last one I bought got scales on both sides. That allows me to do all sorts of calculations with trigonometric functions, pi, exponentials, and base 10 logarithms (no natural logs, for some reason).

            I put it away when I had to calculate phasors for simple AC circuits in which I had to convert between rectangular and polar co-ordinates. A Hewlett-Packard calculator could do that far easier.

    Here is an alternate view from Jill Biden’s ex-husband. Joe and Jill may have been sneaking around before the accident, which may have been very convenient in that Joe wasn’t required to divorce that inconvenient wife. Back in those days, if the divorce was because of infidelity by Joe, he stood to lose everything.

No mention of the names of the four arrested, their race/ethnicity, or the fact that the Akwesasne Reserve is just across the St. Lawrence River from where suspect # 1 came ashore with his duffel bag full of handguns.
