    I suspect this is also why Cops and Live PD have been canceled. Can’t educate the public about what police officers have to deal with day in and day out. What the cancel culturists don’t know is that both those tv programs opened my eyes to the complete waste of time and harassment many PD’s around the country rain down on simple marijuana use. I live in an area that has essentially practiced “decriminalization” of pot use since long before medical marijuana was even a thing. Watching driver after driver get threatened with arrest for pot possession made me totally jaded about what a waste of time and poor police relations that created.

    Having said that, I am NOT in favor of legalized marijuana. And nobody should be driving stoned. But simple possession of pot should be completely decriminalized throughout America. Yeah … watching cops changed my attitude toward the side of the cancel culturists. They’re too dull witted to see the value of TRUTH and TRANSPARENCY. Sometimes it works in their favor.

    As I said before,we are talking two subjects here using one label.
    We mostly know police,as the street level peacekeepers and people you call in an emergency.

    The critters under discussion however are Democrat /Liberal Minions.
    From the Progressive Enclaves we see an organization created over 40 years to serve the whims of the Progressive Politician.

    In these enclaves,the term “police” has a very different creation in mind.
    Progressive Minions,from institutional corruption,where ethics,honesty and justice are all weaknesses, not hiring criteria.

    So look where the riots are,look where the “police” have “failed”.
    Hell even a Liberal can see the patterns here.
    And for us,the RCMP is very much the latter,such Progressive Minions that the constable may make No individual decisions,in case justice might accidentally occur.
    So this constant badmouthing of the people we pay to clean up the scum we would rather not touch..shows us as fools.

    Nobody wants to mistakenly hang their neighbour for stealing,then find out you got the wrong guy.
    Only a psycho wants to spend their life guarding property and person with lethal force..But busy people do not have the luxury of time,that justice demands..So vigilante actions are usually short and final.

    So we have always been willing to pay for effective policing,first because we can be violently wrong,second because we desire the same consideration for ourselves and third because we cannot have civil society without such a mechanism.

    Then along come our super woke progressive comrades,who believe human nature is a construct that can be perfected.
    That if only people can be “educated” heaven on earth will spring into being.
    That evil is a myth.

    Gradually we descend into chaos,citizens are no longer responsible,violently antisocial activities are no longer crimes, laws are writ to prevent effective policing,special groups get different rules,police are trained into minions,such as we see today.

    Chaos returns followed by RESET.

    History is like a nail in your tire,rise to the top round to the bottom over and over and over again.
    Sometimes we can apply the brakes before we hit chaos,but all that seems to do is make the next generation even more certain that chaos will never happen to them.
    We have had it so fat and comfortable,we forget how thin that veneer of civility truly is.

    A well ordered and civil society was handed to us by the citizens who fought a World War to keep it.
    We valued this gift ,not at all.
    Hell we rewarded a Nazi Supporting Draft dodger with the Prime Ministership.
    And now we reap the crop that deviant sowed.

  3. Defund the police by cancelling their days off and forcing them to work overtime in Chicago.

    In Germany, a nation of 80 million people, police in 2011 fatally shot six persons. In Denmark, police shot 11 people in 11 years, and this was felt to be so disturbing that the National Police Commissioner held an inquiry into why his cops had gotten so trigger-happy. In Australia, 41 people were shot by police in eight years, and the then Justice Minister Amanda Vanstone (whose friend thinks I’m “eminently shaggable”, but I digress) thought that that was too high. In Iceland, police have fatally shot just one suspect. That’s one guy in the entire history of the country. He was killed by police last December.

    So comparisons between the kill rates from American police and those of other developed nations aren’t worth bothering with. Indeed, the “justifiable homicides” of US cops are more like the total murder count for other advanced societies.

    In Oz, the total number of murders per year is about 270, so a nation of 23 million would have to increase by 50 per cent to commit as many homicides as American law enforcement. In Canada, whose urban police departments have absorbed certain American practices, a dozen or so people get shot dead by cops each year, which is again somewhat short of the US rate. Indeed, that 2012 “justifiable homicide” figure of 410 compares to a total Canadian homicide count for 2011 of 598. In other words, in America 120,000 or so full-time law enforcement officers rack up the same number of homicides as about 24 million Canadians.

    That strikes me as on the high side.

    In 2011 the German police fired 85 bullets. That’s all of them. The entire police force. The whole country. Eighty-five bullets in one year. That’s seven bullets per month. One bullet for every million German citizens.

    So the Ferguson PD used as many bullets on Michael Brown as the Polizei used on ten million Germans. But, by American standards, that’s relatively restrained. The same year as those German figures – 2011 – the Miami PD blew through the Polizei’s annual bullet allowance on just one traffic incident:

    Police killed Raymond Herisse, 22, of Boynton Beach in a barrage of gunfire after they said he refused an order to pull over while speeding down a crowded Collins Avenue in his Hyundai…

    Twelve officers – from Miami Beach and Hialeah – unleashed more than 100 rounds at Herisse, police said. The hail of bullets also struck and wounded three bystanders.

    By comparison, those 85 German bullets per annum were aimed somewhat more precisely:

    That’s to say, of those 85 bullets, 49 were warning shots. America no longer does “the warning shot”. But whatever happened to “the shot”? With the 36 non-warning bullets fired by German police that year, they killed six people and wounded fifteen. That’s a bullet-and-three-quarters per target. Whether shooting to kill or to disable, they’re trying to do it with a single shot. American policing takes a third of Germany’s annual bullet allowance just to off a dog:

    In July, three officers fired 26 shots at a pit bull that had bitten a chunk out of an officer’s leg in a Bronx apartment building. And there have been other episodes: in 1995, in the Bronx, officers fired 125 bullets during a bodega robbery, with one officer firing 45 rounds.”

      1. IDNF, if you think that that is good analysis, yer as dumb as the poster who posted it. If you learn how to do analysis you’ll understand what I’ saying. If you remove suicides from USA shooting deaths, their MURDER rate is slightly higher than GB’s, which has very strict gun laws. You do NOT compare shooting deaths, you compare murder rates, and death while being arrested. Lfties do what the COLON just did, so as to make things look worst that they are. Often failure rates are more pertinent that success rates, for comparative studies.

    2. Interesting. I wonder what percentage of current American cops are combat veterans? If they are, they have already been trained, and the training and experience they have is not compatible with what we expect of them as cops. Over time however, those combat veteran cops rise through the ranks and institutionalize the combat soldiers views on dealing with the public. Have the American police shooting numbers changed over the years? Who are the people involved in the shooting? I don’t know. I could be totally wrong. Just a thought.

      Another thought is that American cops have to deal with firearm equipped suspects all the time, European police, not so much.

      1. I would much rather trust a cop who is a combat veteran than one who is not. Soldiers in a combat zone have rules of engagement that they are required to follow religiously. Despite the threat level being much higher than faced by typical cop those rules are often much more restrictive than the rules cops operate under.
        Also, cops in Europe have to routinely deal with deranged hyper aggressive cultural enrichers many of whom are combat veterans from Middle East who are much deadlier than an average ghetto thug. Yet European police forces are much less trigger happy.

        Same for Canadian cops, who despite often getting away with utter thuggery (see the case of Lethbridge cosplayer for example) are still order of magnitude less deadly than US cops. Take the Toronto van attack as a example. The cop on the scene did exactly what he was supposed to do and deescalated the situation without killing the terrorist. In US the neighborhood would be riddled with bullets and several bystanders would undoubtedly be hit.

Here is an interesting bit, the killer of George Floyd, had 17 complains on his record, a couple of letters of reprimand, was involved in three fatal shootings (one probably justified) and yet he stayed on the force. Floyd was the 4th person, the cop was involved in killing. Let that sink in. How does it happen? Perhaps it happens because it is next to impossible to fire a violent thug in uniform. And even if one gets fired he almost immediately gets employed by another police force. Exaggeration?     3. It might make a difference in how the cop approaches the situation. Arriving and barking out orders to “get on the ground” likely escalates the situation. A less combative approach might work better (unless the suspect is just plain screwed up with attitude).
