        That said in the voting system municipal politicians usually fare well. Re election is almost a guarantee. Calgary though is in deep financial shit and it’s about to get worse. My guess is nenshi bails before the next election and picks up some federal sinecure if the bong feels like tossing one his way. Some of the council might be vulnerable next time around.

        Problem is voter turnout is typically low and people vote for names they recognize.

        Incidentally the US is going to burn when Chauvin is found not guilty. They overcharged him. The coroner said Floyd died of a heart attack. Note the knee was on the back and side of Floyd’s head. How do you convince a mostly white jury that he was guilty of murder when the coroner says there was no murder? My solution is to do a plea deal for 2 years in a Club Fed for negligence causing death and pay him $1 million in severence. A win/win. If this actually goes to an impartial jury, bad things will happen.
