During every crisis, unexpected heroes come to the fore. And then there’s another group of people on the opposite end of the spectrum:
But there’s more. Oh so much more. Make no mistake, these little tyrants will forever scream that their actions are “for everyone’s safety” and “for the children”. Their views will never change so the deplorables (aka citizens) need to vote them out.
By the way, there seems to be a history of Karens in power in Michigan, including one Canadian.

Great, pick a name at random and stigmatize every woman unfortunate enough to have that name. We’d hear about it if they said Kates.
I think there might be a bunch of Dicks out there who agree with you. Some Peters too. Of course, the Willies and the Johnnys would have to step up and be counted too.
LOL I just realized, you are a Peter… and maybe a bit of a dick too!
I like the name “Gladys Kravitz” better but I think most of North American’s population would not get the reference. For those of you who do not know, Gladys was the nosy neighbor on “Bewitched” who was always twitching the curtains and getting upset over the latest bewitchery from Samantha.
And here I always thought her name was Mrs Crotchet….lol.
Yea, I remember Big Moma.
Every street has one….
That show wouldn’t have had more than 1-season without Gladys and her husband who thought she was a lunatic. Crucial to the entire plot.
“Burn her! She’s a witch!” … contemporized for Suburbia
My former next door neighbor was named Dick Johnson … as we said … “a name so nice, they had to say it twice”
I used to work with a guy whose favorite insult is calling someone a Dick. His last name was Dickman.
You missed something Peter, Karen is a meme on the internet. You just demonstrated the hypocritical sensitivity that Sargon was lambasting.
Thanks, saved me the bother of explaining
Robert is that the Karen from sponge bob square pants?
Did you just demonstrate the Peter principle?!? 😀
Stop with the racism!
Whoooosh.
You think this was offensive?
This is offensive (NOT SAFE FOR WORK, NOT SAFE IN GENERAL): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20tvG54uZLg
I would like to see this morph to a more generic “rule of the Scolds” because that’s the real point, and the Scolds, once finished with this project, will ease back into their ongoing attempts to transform society into a carbon neutral paradise, the only tiny drawback being that only 5% of the economy can survive the transition. Guess which 5% that is.
What we need to be vigilant about, in particular Alberta’s government, would be attempts to restructure the economy this year disguised as methods of surviving the economic downturn of the pandemic. Forcing the resource sector into patterns that would otherwise have been mainly suggestions from the sidelines of defeated political parties — that could be the real legacy of this disaster. “You can have the stimulus or bailout, but you must be carbon neutral” — etc.
Social Distance Warriors
Ooh I’m stealing that!
Interesting observation about our egomaniac in a rug.

Our dear leader is the only national “leader” who does daily pressers which provide no information. Mind you, the bar is set low by many.
He just comes out of hiding to show folks he is still diligently and ardently striving for the health and security of ALL Canadians, and NOT in hiding until it all blows over.
Earlier today, I watched Sargon’s take on Karen; I’m curious how to link this to the Wuhoo Flu.
The media is made up of Karens. Hollywood as well. Male and female Karens who tell us what is best for us and scold us when we don’t listen. They are condescending and treat most other people as beneath them. When given the chance, they would love to use force to bend us to their idea of what’s “right.”
If you don’t see the parallel In Michigan and other states where people’s civil liberties are being violated by nagging scolds who happen to have power, I can’t help you.
I swear to God … if one more California suburban ‘Karen’ scolds me for turning the WRONG WAY down the newly labeled ONE WAY aisles in Safeway … she’s gonna get a sarcastic “OK Karen” from me. Or if ‘Karen’ scowls at me because my N95 mask looks like it was used for a sanding project … it was.
OK Karen …
Yup Nags and scolds..happiest when they can spread fear and panic.
For your own good..one of those ways that the speaker infantilizes their target.
Canadians are prime examples, for here “If it is not PERMITTED,in triplicate, then it shall be FORBIDDEN.
Where our Native Peoples are institutionalized by an Apartheid System that deliberately prevents them from being full citizens.
Where Worker Compensation is so out of control:”If it saves one life” that they now claim authority if you voluntarily help a neighbour.
Freedom means the right to fail,to fall and to die if you screw up.
Also to keep the rewards, not split them 50/50 with fools and bandits.
For your own good, tells you the shrieker has zero respect for your judgement.
Usually complete with an exaggerated opinion of their own skills, competency and wisdom.
I too do not favour the “Karen’s” logo, speaking as a Johnny, most of the Karen’s I know are competent and self sufficient.
Nags and Scolds is plenty adequate, persons so inadequate they must F with your life as well.
We all know one and only the real threat/promise of direct violence will deter/deflect their insanity.
Persons so stupid that you have to beat them to gain their attention?
I didn’t miss anything about the meme on the internet, what do you think I was commenting on?
Without perhaps realizing it, you’ve entered into the realm where you’re quite willing to think you “know” what every Karen out there might be like. And you don’t.
Just substitute your own name and ask yourself, what if some popular internet meme suddenly appeared where your name became synonymous with child molesting or wife beating. Then you’d have to waste a lot of time fending off the endless jokes at your expense but you would also find that people half believed these sorts of things. Go on, give it a try, picture Karen Johnson of Omaha, Nebraska. What’s she like? What would you have said two weeks ago?
My husband’s name is Richard and all his life he has preferred the diminutive his parents gave him, Dick. Give it up.
I would like to see a Meme for an antiKaren. A Karen made the mistake of scolding my wife for being too close to me in the shopping line at the pharmacy. By the time my wife was through with her verbal tongue lashing the Karen was running away bawling. I just kind of stood there and pretended I didn’t know either of them.
Twitter is flooded with Karens piously telling us what a great job Justin Trudeau and Dr. Tam are doing and how terrible Conservatives are for wanting to re-open a limited parliament and be involved in Covid-19-related decision making. Many of the Karens are men (Gerald Butts has been busy), but there is no shortage of middle-aged women scolding Conservatives and speaking reverently about JT, going so far as swooning over his “uncut“ wind-swept locks yesterday…
Since the subject is the blame game, and the Democrats are busy trying to lay blame on President Trump. So what else is new? But allow me this observation.
President Trump is a Constitutionalist. Therefore he believes in states rights where the Constitution does not explicitly give the right to the Federal government.
Basically, the states had the right to deal with the Wuhan virus as they see fit.
All but one of the ten worst states in terms of per capita death due to the virus have Democratic governors: NY, NJ, CT, LA, MI, RI, IL, PA. WA. The only exception is, ironically, MA. Also DC is among the worst, and it has a Dem mayor, natch. Of the sixteen best states, all but two have Republican governors.
If deaths can be attributed to mismanagement, it is obvious which party’s state officials are most guilty.
To more precisely lay the blame, NYC and its surrounding counties are absolutely the worst. These counties are the suburbs of NYC: Hudson NJ, Essex NJ, Nassau NY, Westchester NY, Fairfield CT. Combined they have a Wuhan virus death rate of 126.9 per 100K population. The US has a combined 11.9 per 100K. But taken out the data of NYC and those other counties, the rest of the US has a combine 7.1 per 100K. which is just 1/17.8 of the former. That is one heck of a difference. With just 4% of the population of the U.S., they account for 42.5% of the deaths.
Take a bow, governor Cuomo and mayor de Blasio.
