  1. Kushner’s team seeks national coronavirus surveillance system
Critics worry about a Patriot Act for health care, raising concerns about patient privacy and civil liberties.

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner’s task force has reached out to a range of health technology companies about creating a national coronavirus surveillance system to give the government a near real-time view of where patients are seeking treatment and for what, and whether hospitals can accommodate them, according to four people with knowledge of the discussions.

The proposed national network could help determine which areas of the country can safely relax social-distancing rules and which should remain vigilant. But it would also represent a significant expansion of government use of individual patient data, forcing a new reckoning over privacy limits amid a national crisis.

Health privacy laws already grant broad exceptions for national security purposes. But the prospect of compiling a national database of potentially sensitive health information has prompted concerns about its impact on civil liberties well after the coronavirus threat recedes, with some critics comparing it to the Patriot Act enacted after the 9/11 attacks.

    1. Kushner just totally denied there was any such plan. Trump also said there was no such plan in today’s news conference. Apparently Politico is as reliable as New York Slimes. What a surprise!

      1. Every leftist said closing the border to China was racist. In Italy the government had the population hug a Chinese dude to prove they weren’t racist. Nancy Pelosi encouraged everyone to take a trip to China town in her district of San Franshithole. And the WHO, why bother. I could go on. How did all that work out?

    2. Ok mooselimb. Next time when you have a compulsive need to regurgitate debunked, of topic, conspiracy theories perhaps you could dump then into the tips section instead?

  2. The surge in spot price for uranium means little. Most uranium is sold on long term contracts. The number of spot sales per year is a few dozen world-wide annually. With that few sales in a year, there’s no real market signal being given.

    1. Maybe someone is afraid of the blame Game…..Gun sales in AZ have rocketed,,,,,Insecurity is contagious

  3. Greenhouses in Ontario hit the wall on sales this week as well. Talk about working cucumbers into the ground. Won’t be a good optic but what is the alternative?

  4. John Quakes has been a virtually perfect negative bellwether on uranium and uranium stocks for the last couple of years.

He has been a bull on the FCU stock billboard for a long time. Share price straight down throughout.

He might eventually be right but has a terrible track record to date.

  5. Don’t know where that video was taken but Gouw Onions in southern Alberta are trucking out as much in a week as they normally do in a month at this time of year.

    1. Those onions are being purchased by Liberal politicians. They slice them just before going on camera. Then in a teary eyed testament, they proclaim their empathy for the suffering *ordinary Canadians are going through.

You might be surprised how many onions that takes for those who have no sense of empathy.

*(ordinary – meaning non-members of the Laurentian elite)

Putting Canadian farmers out of business ? Well there are no end of farmer collectives, fluent in Mandarin, who have pre-approved financing for every arable acre in Canada.

  6. We should trust the People’s Republic of China. Theyre scientific leftist under non romantic, scientific Marxism.

  7. Living in another of the worlds bread baskets and for what its worth, the real disruption in the food chain is yet to come. Pretty poor harvests over last year both hemispheres and livestock prices meaning that farmers both arable and livestock are caught right now with no markets and stock that doesn’t just sit around waiting. The pain on the family farms is just about bearable for those with no mortgage, anyone with loans and livestock to feed, that light at the end of the tunnel is dim and flickering.

    1. The light at the end of that tunnel is an approaching train!
Everything the turd does is designed to reduce the value of our assets so that they may be represented as worthless when his masters foreclose.

  8. Many years ago, when spouse was in uni, we drove an uncle to a farm to meet with someone. Never did know the details of the meeting, but there were a fair few onions lying about in the nearby field. Apparently they were too “imperfect” to market. So we asked permission to glean and did so. Got enough decent onions to last a few months.

  9. I’m pulling out my old vhs copy of Red Dawn tonight for my viewing pleasure.

  10. Yes indeed, once we bankrupt enough farmers,we will be able to act”All surprised” when the food supply becomes inadequate.
As I keep visualizing, the Ummee’s are so stupid, that when the food supply runs short, they will band together and “solve” the shortage..By organizing a protest march onto the super market.
Just as when the infrastructure is sufficiently crippled by feel good idiocy and Global Warming Subsidy ripoffs, these geniuses will be roaming from receptacle to receptacle in their basement dwellings, because power comes out of these wall sockets..
Compulsively turning the water facet on and off hoping some water will flow…
Oh the future is so bright, fraught with entertainment.

  11. Well Kate, it looks like you’re gonna get that famine you’ve been hoping for.

    1. You realize that’s tongue in cheek. Not actually hoping. However food was left to rot in the fields for a couple of seasons at the start of the huge Great Leap famine in China. Rotting food today can be seen as a parallel. The globe is on that path now. All that’s needed is a sudden cooler climate to help push things over the edge.

  12. I expect my local Safeway will be buying ALL of those rotted onions … the last 6 onions I bought from them were all half discolored and in various stages of deterioration. The produce buyer for my local Safeway must really impress his supervisors with $0.01/lb onion onion purchases … and selling them for $1.49/

I’m not joking. The WORST. And it wasn’t always this way. My local Safeway really went downhill about 10 years ago … when “corporate” came in and “relocated” the excellent store (and department) managers. And replaced them with completely indifferent nincompoops.

Oh! And Safeway has been totally price gouging and profiteering during the ChiCom-19 panic-demic

    1. okay, there is just a very simple blip happening on the supply chain here. Think of all the parts of the supply chain as “buffers” that hold a certain amount of onions. There is an arm of the supply chain that supplies restaurants, and the restaurants themselves. They are storing less onions now because they don’t want to have inventory they can’t sell. So the consumption of onions could stay exactly the same and those onions would still get dumped because the grocery part of the supply chain won’t increase their inventory enough to offset the losses in the restaurant supply chain. I am seeing that a bit on my business of dry beans, but in this case the canners have the ability to crank up production that more than offsets the reduction in demand from the restaurants. Also the purchase of both canned and packaged beans has gone up as they are a good stockpile food.

      1. Especially canned chili and all the canned beans which can be made into chili. Totally WIPED OUT in all my local stores. Uh, yeah … pinto beans and kidney beans are a GREAT gig to be in at the moment … I’d guess.

Guess I need to learn how to day-Trade Kidney, Pinto, Great Northern and Cannellini beans?

  13. I think most people are forgetting that Family Care Packages are a Normal acceptable practice… The whole world is in trouble and many may have a relative in China, Iran, Italy, Africa and It’s OK to Help.. The Government action applies to Commerce

BTW: Where does the UN get it’s Medical Equipment & Why?

    1. Oh, that’s easy … the UN uses medical equipment to gain access to young children across the globe. Little boys and girls they can rape … while they’re providing medical care. Surely you read the news about this?

Same thing with the Clinton Foundation … only on a much larger scale. The child rape that is.
