Cognitive Dissonance Test for TDS-Infected Canadians

In recent days, I’ve noticed an increased amount of anti-Trump rhertoric being posted on social media. This is par for the course among Leftist anti Never-Trump Americans but it’s particularly interesting coming from Canadians THESE DAYS. For example, yesterday a close friend in Vancouver told me what an idiot Trump was for telling off a reporter. I responded to to him matter of factly, “But no matter what Trump says or does, you’re going to find fault with him, right?” No response. I then asked him why I’m not getting stories from him about how Trudeau has been handling things. In fairness, he has been no fan of Trudeau either but since Covid-19 has taken hold of our society, it has been Trump-this, Trump-that 24/7.

Since this crisis heated up, and especially since Tuesday, when the “Shelter In Place” order came into effect in San Francisco, I’ve taken it upon myself to both follow the rules but also capture many photos of this extraordinary time, because I think it’s important to document the extraordinary events unfolding before us. As Steven Bannon recently said on his excellent War Room: Pandemic vidcast, sometimes not much significant occurs in history over a period of years but once in a while, major historic events occur over a period of days and weeks. He added that historians will be discussing this period of time we’re living through at the moment one hundred years from now.

So in the interest of documenting history, let’s compare what has transpired in the United States of America and Canada over the past few months:

Date America Canada Notes
Jan 27 Canadians start online petition to ban flights from China Petition is ignored by politicians, those behind it accused of “creating unnecessary stigma against the local Chinese community”
Jan 31 Trump bans foreign nationals who have traveled to China in the past 14 days   Travel bans deemed to make no sense
Trump accused of hysterical xenophobia and fearmongering
Feb 13 Canadian Press: Covid-19 travel restrictions based on misinformation, racism Here are the 16 “scholars” who have insisted that all travel bans are racist
Feb 14 Canadian SJW posing as journalist insists that stopping flights from China won’t stop spread of coronavirus
Feb 29 Canada won’t ban flights from Covid-19 hot spots or shut borders
Mar 12 Biden: Calling Coronavirus ‘Foreign Virus’ is xenophobic, blasts Europe travel ban Some are now realizing what’s going on with the Democrats
Mar 16 Canada bars foreign nationals from all countries except the U.S. No one refers to Trudeau as a racist
Mar 18 University of Windsor SJWs insist that all travel restrictions “undermine our values” Here’s one of the two “geniuses” who wrote this
Mar 21 Trump deemed to be lacking leadership for not calling for national lockdown But being president does have its limits. The job is president, not dictator, after all.
It’s been confirmed that all 50 US governors are adults over the age of 21

  1. It’s the incessant negative press on sources like CBC. Canadians often don’t have access to other forms of news like FOX. People around me often curse Trump for stuff and when I tell them the whole context they are stunned. When I tell them about the good stuff he has done they are really surprised. There has also been a major move by Democrats to locate and get the votes out from American expats in Canada. Only 5% of them vote in the US election and suddenly the Dems are after them to register and vote by absentee ballot. The majority are also Democrat by ignorance.

    1. Love this!
As for “Canadians often don’t have access to other forms of news like FOX.” Canadians are stupid. Deliberately so. They are lazy, spoon fed, incurious, dogmatic, cretins is one word that describes them to a T. They apparently love their health care. It’s the same as North Korea and Cuba, which I might point out is a favorite vacay spot. I wonder why?
The one good thing about COVID-19 is that stupid Kanadjians and their third world imports will die. Hopefully in the thousands. I’m barricaded in my house and armed to the teeth. I like feeding birds. Vultures might be a new clientele. The Magpies already nest near my backyard. No cats in my yard now and the mice are “trimmed”. They’re little Dinosaurs strolling the verdant green and among the bushes.

    2. People around me often curse Trump for stuff and when I tell them the whole context they are stunned.

I’ve met people here in Edmonton who don’t like Prinz Dummkopf but, when I bring up how Trump has handled things, quickly let me know they don’t like him, either.

The other day, I was in a drugstore and the cashier was one of them. Trump, apparently, doesn’t always “do the right thing”, though she declined to go into details as to what she meant. I suspect she’s one of those “it was HER turn” feminists.

Maybe she gets her news from the Prinz Dummkopf TV networks.

  2. You would be surprised how many Kanickistanians believe the MSM. I have relatives and neighbours that constantly quote Joy Behar. All you can do is change the subject (or replace them with smarter ones).

  3. Mike, PO’ed and Justin you are spot on. Dopey Canadians voted a second one of the communist Turdo family member into power because they refuse to get a second opinion, it’s just that simple, as are they. Canadian media makes morons. Fox and Oann in the US are the only TV stations that I, have ever seen that have anchors and reporters that at least try to get the story, not make the story. When 90 percent of the media, on the planet, is owned by 6 companies you get lies running in packs and it’s easy to make morons, that look to a moron, like we have been cursed with here in Canada, as leadership material. Our Canadian news is unwatchable, the smarm and hatred for DJT by the reporting is disgusting. I have portable XM devices for all my machinery and XM in the vehicles, it cost money but I like to wash my own brain. Like our healthcare, a second opinion is essential, and sometimes cures cost money, just like information.

    1. “..but I like to wash my own brain…”
      I like that one.!!

      Rebel once a week
      Fox every now and then
      SDA daily
      WUWT weekly
Rogan if he’s got someone interesting
      And a few others..

MSM…? only to throw derision at. The Garbage that spews froth from Mother CBC has been ongoing since before Pierres time. Just gotten more virulent by the year.

      1. You might include conservativetreehouse.com for top notch analysis on all things, ‘US politics.’

One thing I cannot fathom is, as far as I can see, there are no recorded cases (nevermind deaths) in Richmond, BC. The greater Vancouver area is 54% Chinese ethnicity with most living in Richomnd.
So far, the news is that Iranians based in North Vancouver is where most of the deaths are.
        Any BCers got more info?
Thanks for timeline, Robert – have bookmarked it.

        1. Maggie; the BC deaths are indeed in N. Vancouver, but they’re confined to a couple of nursing homes. Nothing to do with the Iranian community there.
Most Iranians here came over after the Mullahs took over, or were born here. The ones that fled Iran were the Shah’s supporters; intellectuals and professionals.

Re that ‘Timeline’ chart…Thank you for that, Kate !!!

    2. Excellent comment about getting a second opinion respecting MSM drivel, like we’ve been taught is appropriate respecting healthcare matters. I shall use that, thank you.

    3. Let’s face it. Most Canadians are economically illiterate. The limit of that knowledge is “when’s payday?”, “charge it”, and “if I extend that car loan to ten years, I can get that new car I can’t live without!”

      “I saw it on CBC”

Once we understand that, everything makes sense. Remember, it was under the Harper regime that SUN NEWS couldn’t get on the dial with the rest of the “news” networks.

  4. Thanks Robert: A very good time line!
I’m amazed that no one has mentioned Trudeau has been self Isolating for weeks now! Can you IMAGINE him leading you into battle—–say VIMY RIDGE!

    1. Just wanna say how absolutely delighted this comment makes me considering its under a post about giving Commander Bone Spurs the benefit of the doubt.

    2. “He lead his regiment from behind
      He found it less exciting”

The distance behind is open for suggestions

  5. All good comments. Listened to an idiot-acquaintance go on about Trump just yesterday, talking about his base as if I knew nothing and couldn’t read. I’ve decided that’s the last time I listen to any of these fuckheads. Next time its STFU or a beating is coming.

    1. I’m a lot less polite to idiots lately.
If they want to spout stupidity I call them on it much more than I used to.
If they don’t like being treated like idiots then they can start to think a little bit.

  6. Kharmic irony is happening before our eyes as the demographics that did the most virtuous pretention are the ones that are currently most likely effected by their own actions.

  7. TDS is a form of virtue signaling. It’s a publicly acceptable way of appearing informed and elevating one’s intellect. To those who don’t have TDS, it proves the exact opposite.

TDS seems so common because sufferers know to be vocal about it. It’s even more prevalent in Canada by those who need to deflect from Trudeau. It’s a display of shame really because they know they can’t defend him. Those without TDS aren’t as apparent because they don’t need to be noisy about it.

Ask people about Biden and you’ll find that most have no clue about his dementia. Then ask them where they get their news.

  8. During the 11:30 press op (“11:00” Sock monkey time) the sock monkey was asked a multitude of times why he hasn’t invoked the emergency measures act.
The usual word salad about how it’s not time yet.

The media is perplexed and can’t figure out why.

    1. Canadians are in for a world of hurt if Trudeau invokes the Emergency Measures Act.

However, he doesn’t tell the police what to do; hmmm… What a quandary he’s got himself into.

  9. “Italian virologist says political correctness doomed his country’s coronavirus response.
Florence even launched a ‘Hug a Chinese’ Day initiative after Trump announced China travel restrictions”

    https://pjmedia.com/lifestyle/watch-chinese-government-encourages-italians-to-fight-coronavirus-racism-by-hugging-strangers/

We can’t afford liberal stupidity in times of crisis.

  10. I’ve noticed this too. A few of my more leftie acquaintances on Facebook have posted deranged, TDS laden rants.

I pointed out that that if they replaced the word “Coronavirus” with “Russian Collusion” or “Net Neutrality” , their screeds were exactly the same as what they’ve been posting, nonstop, since 2016.

I also pointed out they were quoting news sources that were completely wrong in their information and predictions about the Stormy Daniels affair, Bret Kavanaugh, and whatever that dumb kerfuffle over the Ukraine was about.

In most case I received no reply. In one case I was answered with a totally unhinged, almost hallucinatory, ALL CAPS bolt of barely coherent rage. I could almost see the veins popping out of the sides of his head on my iPad screen.

It still amazes me that people who I would generally categorize as smart can be so stupid and gullible.

    1. … because they are emotionally infantilized. They believe “the bully” took their toy away from them, and they’ve been crying “Mommy!!” ever since. That’s “What’s Happened”

  11. Maybe you guys should take your own advice when it comes to Trudeau then. Is he an annoying dingus? Yes. Is he a demon bred by Satan to be more evil than Hitler and Stalin combined? No, maybe chill out just a little bit.

For example try and imagine your reaction if his wife tested positive and he DIDN’T self isolate. Would you be praising him then? Be honest with yourselves here.

  12. “It still amazes me that people who I would generally categorize as smart can be so stupid and gullible.”

That in a nutshell is the statement of the day. Over the last few years it has become unabashedly apparent to me that many of my relatives, friends and acquaintances are so viscerally unhinged with hatred that they are incapable of even engaging in a discussion about their beliefs concerning the US president. The constant reference of “Trump is Hitler” espoused by the majority of the American media over the last four years has proven that Goebbels was right. Tell a lie often enough and people will believe it and we are seeing, constantly displayed, that the lie is being swallowed by many Americans and Canadians who consider themselves “educated and intelligent”. Therein lies the danger. The Canadian press brought down a Prime Minister over a contrived scandal, and then convinced the Canadian public that despite showing an abysmal lack of knowledge the son of a former Prime Minister was God’s gift to Canada. Similarly in America the President that vowed to “fundamentally change America” was praised to the heavens, while the President that wanted to restore American values that created America has been reviled and ridiculed for his entire tenure. We are on a very dangerous path when the supposedly “educated and intelligent” are so easily led.

  13. No….I’ll cut that phoney NO slack. None. Nor will I cut slack for the Liberals in general. Your comment about him “self isolating” is ludicrous in the extreme given that a simple test would rule him in or out. Get lost with your nonsensical swill. He’s hiding….pure and simple.

  14. Meh.
    Liberalism is a progressive disease.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is one of the final stages.
    Progressive as in rust.
Every “Enemy” of the chosen ones gets this treatment, from the President of the USA,The former Prime Minister of Canada, down to any citizen who asks an intelligent question..
    Remember Joe The Plumber?
How about The “White Supremest” Oilpatch truckers?

Political Correctness is a tool of those who hate freedom of speech and those who have no truth in them.

“But Drump” sums up the derangement, the losers project all of their own defects onto the authority figure that looms largest in their tiny worlds.
But reason ,logic and factual information?
The chosen ones don’t need none of that.
Maths is hard and STEM is racist.
Feelings is where all wisdom is at.
I FEELZ therefore I am so smart, virtuous and wonderful.

The age old illness of self love, reflection and selfishness have been raised to new heights in the selfie era.
    Twits,twitter endlessly,mistaking noise for activity.

The most interesting aspect of this economic shut down, some say economic suicide, is the demonstration of how dangerous the useless and clueless really are.
A prime example is watching our politicians “address the public”.

As for the Canadien Media Party, turns out $660 million does not buy you much.
That state take over is a case study all of its own.
The buyers(Taxpayers)reject a toxic and useless product(Canadian News Services) so the government uses the taxpayers money to bail them out(If they say good things about govt).
    But “Free Healthcare”!
TDS,Cult of Calamitous Climate and “Government Help” are all intelligence tests..
    Ones we fail miserably.

  15. I absolutely agree with 90% of what’s posted here. A special mention to Justin Birch, PO in AB, Bartinsky, Antenor, and John Robertson! When you access other news sources, you can absolutely see the bias, sometimes it’s so thick as to be draw dropping, or is that gobsmacked? Me, I access, SDA daily, Fox daily, Mark Stein regularly & CTV Nat and Prov, for …..”Balance”!!!! two or thee times a week at most. Can’t stand it anymore than that. Lisa La Phlegm makes my skin crawl, as does the minstrel. And yeah, I agree, he’s in hiding, not self isolating! What a sad state of affairs both the US and Canada!

  16. The things I have learned; in this lesson, ‘CBC’ will be a stand in for “socialist”.

The rule of thumb is; the more hate displayed by the CBC, the more actual conservatism/classical liberalism/libertarian is winning.
No anger/hate/spittle flying? The CBC are pushing something socialist.
If the CBC uses an adjective to describe someone (hard, radical, far, reactionary, … right), that person is an actual conservative.
If the CBC calls anyone a name (racist, phobe) that person is doing it right.
If the CBC does not list a party affiliation, or use an adjective, to the left of Mao and Stalin.
If the CBC uses a soft or complementary pronoun (moderate, expert, …), that person may be to the right of Mao and Stalin, but probably still pretty far left.
