  1. as I said elsewhere it has not even reached the level of an epidemic IF china is telling the truth. That is one very big IF. of course if one million people actually have it in china that would be about 0.015% of the population of China.

    At the beginning of the outbreak, the Chinese authorities said the virus was not spreading between people – but now, such cases have been identified.

    Scientists have now revealed each infected person is passing the virus on to between 1.4 and 2.5 people.

    This figure is called the virus’ basic reproduction number – anything higher than 1 means it’s self-sustaining.

    We now know this is not a virus that will burn out on its own and disappear.

  5. The Globe and Mail news coverage on the caronavirus, today, is upsetting to me. The following are at the top of the corrupt paper’s main page. First there is the York School Board story, where the school board warned worried parents not to be “anti-Chinese xenophobic”. Second, the G&M has a propaganda piece saying the corrupt WHO says not to worry, that the coronavirus is not spreading. Third, there is an opinion piece from the Globe’s quack health reporter, Andre Picard, saying we should not worry, since more Canadians die from the flu. That’s it. The Globe had been publishing a series of good reports by writers Vanderklippe and Li, in China, but today is the first day in a while no report from them is available.

    I woke up early this morning (5 am Atlantic time), and Europe CNBC had on this British analyst just back from China. He said the situation there is terrible, and the Chinese government is in the process of “shutting the country down”. He says that, given that China was heavily in debt before the outbreak, the effect on the world economy could be bad. Today I am buying some more of a corporate bond ETF (for safety), to make my small-retail portfolio even more defensive.

    The SARS epidemic of 16 years ago infected 8,000+ people worldwide. This moringa the infection count is 4,500, and the pandemic is just getting started.

  7. Something’s seriously wrong here. Remember Ebola? Swine flu? etc etc? Welp they was mass hysteria in the press about those but now that we have a serious disease here it’s crickets.

    For sure the Canadian press have been told to cool it to avoid panic while the elites prepare the bunkers.

    1. The previous Ebola outbreak was actually helped by a secondary asymptomatic strain that spread much much faster than the killer one. This second strain actually inoculated the population and help it burned out. I don’t think we’re going to be that lucky with this particular bug.

The only question left to anybody with any common sense is whether the virus was released by accident or whether this is a deliberate act of bio-terror designed to show the uselessness of western democracy and the superiority of both the Chinese people and fascism with Chinese characteristics.

    (Look at us! It takes Americans 10 years to build a hospital for fear of disturbing the habitat of some frog. The great Chinese people under the leadership of the beloved Chairman Xi can do it in ten days!)

    And the CCP would indeed do this to their own people. Chairman Mao made plans in 1948 to murder up to 50 million kulaks if they resisted the revolution, at a time when China’s population was perhaps 600 million. About that many may have died during the Great Leap Forward. The coronavirus isn’t likely to kill nearly that many—not in China anyway.

If China decides to exercise its fifth column in Canada (like this story suggests, or by adopting Huawei 5G, which we might have to do to get the two Michaels returned from captivity in China), I’d say we’re pretty much done.   17. One can safely assume that a Wuhan fish market has been in existence since there was a conglomeration of people, who lived by the sea before there was even a village/town/city of Wuhan. Further, we can assume that the food handling hygiene (or lack thereof) has probably been the same since “forever”. Since I don’t believe in spontaneous generation, one has to assume that something “new” was introduced to the area.

    A number of links to people responsibly reporting the terrible REALITY of the scope of the ‘Wuhan virus’. It is actually too late to contain the outbreak. The Chinese authorities appear to have known since possibly November how serious this flu was. Their inhuman regime held off reporting to the WHO until last week. The anti-human WHO dodges doing what they are overpaid to do by dropping the ball. Canada’s trough feeding government is still letting planes in from China without restriction.

    Everybody, especially in Toronto and Vancouver (shut up, it’s where I live) should be buying well fitting face masks, lots of disposable gloves, and wash their hands constantly. Those supplies will disappear fast enough. Don’t touch your face with your hands, because the virus can enter through the mouth, nose, and eyes. Clorox bleach or other effective handiwipes should be everywhere in businesses, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. Bring your own. I believe the Medical establishment is not being properly warned either. Instead of deplorables, we have become the expendables.

    These are not panic procedures. Just common sense in a country with a ruling class that considers the taxpayers and other inhabitants as unworthy of freedom and beneath contempt. It seems only rational that Chinese communities in Canada will be hit first. Like many other ethnic groups, they live in the same neighborhoods, send their kids to the same schools, and likely have family and friends who travel to China. That “racist” word has lost all meaning. Stand in front of a mirror and keep calling yourself a racist until you don’t care.

  21. Here is a report from the field, so to speak. My friend is a Chinese doctor who now lives in Alberta. She had worked for years at emergency ward in a mid size city in province that borders with Hubei, so she still knows a lot of medical staff back home. Wuhan is a capital of Hubei with metro population around 20 million. Her info – directly from her friends and colleagues – is that the doctors believe that about 10% of the entire population of Wuhan will get infected, which is about 2 million people. This, of course, does not include people who left Wuhan prior to the blockade. She also estimates that perhaps about 4% of the infected patients will die – this would make the possible death toll in Wuhan alone some 80,000. This is anecdotal evidence only, of course but coming from a trusted, professional source. The advice being given in Wuhan is – if you feel you have symptoms – do NOT go to hospital, stay at home as hospitals cannot handle the volume of people. Finally – she strongly admonishes against believeing any official Chinese government announcements insofar the coronavirus.

    If and when I know more I will post it again.

    Stay safe – if you are in infected area, use N95 mask, overdose on vitamin C and ginger, use rubbing alcohol to clean your hands after you touch anything. Supposedly, the virus can survive up to 48 hours outside of the carrier body, meaning if an infected person coughs, the virus stays alive on surface where the cough drops landed. Hope it helps.

    1. Epidemiologist from Harvard on CBC confirmed the “6 different versions” of the virus. It mutates a lot but he also said that it might “only” be a 5% death ratio. He said SARS was 10%. He also said that the WHO f**ked up and “the cat is out of the bag”. In other words, its out and emergency measures need to be taken.
      I wonder how he can say the death rate is probably only 5% when he admits that its mutating quickly.
