1. Brilliant. Replace Natural gas piped into homes and businesses with electricity generated by natural gas. That ought to save them.

   1. Don’t forget all the electricity losses in the transmission lines, transformers, and distribution lines. Most modern furnaces are 90-93% efficient. I don’t think that the California electric grid is that efficient, especially when the NIMBY eco-fascists make Californians get their power from Arizona and points East.

      Let’s see, 90% efficient natural gas furnace versus 98% efficient electric furnace fed by a grid with 10% electric losses that may be Shutdown because the wind blows.

      1. My ollllld Furnace is 90% efficient … and the new model I am planning to install is 96% efficient. And I just changed my WH to a tankless which is 96% efficient. My gas bill has dropped to $8.00/mo. … my electric bill at PG&E outrageous rates is about $175.00/mo.
         Eliminate Nat. Gas and my $8.00/mo. bill will easily balloon to $100.00/mo. So you can BET that PG&E will once again prove what an incompetent WOKE Corp. it’s become … and happily go-along with the CPUC.

         BTW … the PG&E’s primary mission is to deliver AFFORDABLE, RELIABLE, and SAFE energy to its customers. The CPUC’s primary mission is to PROTECT the consumer from a predatory Utility monopoly. Neither are performing their primary missions, but have been serving the MYTH of Global Warming instead. It used to be that the LEFT were on the side of the Consumer. Now they toss the consumer under the wheels of the CAGW bus.

      2. My first thought also. Why supply 100% of the natural gas needed to the point where the power is needed, when you can burn 120% of the natural gas 100 miles away to supply 100% of the power at the point where the power is needed? Not the mention the added benefit that the line losses become heat in the power lines – warming up the great outdoors!

         So burning more natural gas, and electrically loss-heating the surrounding environment… are they trying to prevent global cooling?

2. They’re insane. But Brown has always been crazier than a sh*t house rat.
   There was a theory put out there some time ago that these idiotic policies from Blue States are purposely done to drive residents out seeking less restrictive conditions in Red States such as Texas etc. – Once there, these supposed freedom loving idiots slowly begin to impose the same stupid Liberal policies that drove them out in the first place eventually turning a once solid red state to blue.
   I used to think that theory was nuts…I’m not so sure now.

   In the U.K. last year, 28,000 more per-capita died of the cold than in the United States – a much bigger and in many places, much colder place. But I’m sure none of the dead were in government, and none of those in government had problems cranking-up the thermostats in their cozy homes and offices, while ignoring the misery outside.
