Best Canadian Blog
2004 - 2007
Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Telling the truth is dangerous these days. Arm up and man up.
An aside. It has become increasingly difficult to get people to think.
Old white guy….that is not an aside, but rather the crux of the matter.
Isn’t it within the power of the prime minister to call a general election? Or did the UK HIgh Court also take that away from him?
No. Cameron didn’t have enough people to form a government, so formed a pact with the Liberals. The price (one of the prices…) was a law changing that. It used to be that the PM could do that, or failing that, the Queen could. The PM could also pick the time of the election. Under the new (2010) law the Queen loses the power to dissolve parliament and call an election, and the PM loses the right to call an election when he wishes, unless 3/4 of parliament agree to it.
OK, thanks. I was not aware. I’m not sure if that’s good or bad, but it does seem like a good lesson in what happens when you lie down with dogs in the name of keeping power.
The first thing Johnson needs to do if he gets a majority is to again require the government to maintain confidence of the House. The present system of the opposition making governing extremely difficult while not allowing an election is not sustainable. The unanimous Supreme Court ruling that even took power away from the PM to have a Parliamentary break was beyond stupid and needs to be fixed by either abolishing the Supreme Court or limiting its power over the democratically elected government.
Man oh Man!
That first few minutes was beautiful to watch!
Just like Andrew “Tiger” Scheer, eh?
LOL
Just wait until he stands up in parliament and demands Canada leave Alberta (or is it Quebec?) 🙂 just kidding.
I always knew that the Liberal Democrats were as slimy as our Liberals but treasonous as well. In the UK right now, Boris is as good as it gets.
The hour calls forth the man: Churchill, Nelson, Alfred, BoJo, Bernier
Robert if you would trust a pol from Que you deserv turd jr.
Quebec has good and bad people. Quit being so one dimensional.
Trump
Bernier – Mr Fiscal Imbalance who worked for Bernard Landry of the Parti Quebecois? That Bernier? The man who was a proud separatist?
I’ve seen this guy on SDA many times but I don’t know his name. Anyone know?
He’s one of my favourite Brits.
Theodoric Sargon of York? Medieval MP?
A quick read of the UK Supreme Court that was created in 2009 (was previously the purview of the Lords) of what seems to be an UN International Court controlled by the EU….What did England think they would DO..The Queen consented and the Court Kicked the Queen in the butt & pissed all over her…Yep! that will work out just fine…..
I meant the guy doing the commentary not the politician.
Has he got a web site as all I have is his Youtubes.
Watch this video (and a linked one of Boris Johnson savaging Corbin) and weep when you compare this with what passes for debate in Canada’s House of Commons. The English language at its finest.
