It’s quite astounding how Leftists throughout Britain don’t believe in democracy … when it doesn’t go their way!

Same with the Democrats in the USA.
America is a Constitutional Republic and not a democracy. It was set up that way to reduce the prospect of tyranny by the majority, the electoral college being just one of the important ideas. Democrats have spent decades trying to sidestep the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, they are so close to communism it is now dangerous.
Losers always want a do-over.
You know where I saw this with shocking clarity? On my elementary school children’s playground. I used to volunteer to help ‘herd’ the “unruly” boys at lunchtime recesses. All of em … every single male child in school … was deemed “unruly” by the female teachers who were wholly unequipped to handle them. And inevitably (read: every day) some kids team that lost, or got a touchdown scored against them, always DEMANDED a do-over. It’s what children do. Children refuse to play by the rules when they’ve LOST … fair and square.
These REMAIN-ders are children. Adult children who need their nappies changed and given a noontime nap.
Kenji, my grandboys were born rowdy and are still rowdy. The son went to their public school and reamed them out for trying to make his son into a feminine fop. They did not like it but stopped the one teacher from forcing her bullshit on his son.
There wasn’t a single male teacher at my kid’s elementary school. You wanna talk about “equity” and “fair hiring practices”? Mandate that HALF of all teachers K-12 be male. Wouldn’t that be …”FAIR” … ladies? Ohhhh yeahhhhh you don’t really believe in “FAIR” … you believe in getting MORE than men.
When Mahony became the Archbishop of Los Angeles, he made every parishioner fill out a questionaire with ten questions, and pick the five most important ones for the archdiocese. Five of the questions concerned traditional Catholic morality, the other five were liberal social action items. The parishioners of the archdiocese picked the first five.
Do over? It ain’t that simple. Archbishop Mahony ordered seminars on social conscience for every parish, and then had another questionaire. Then another. After he finally got the answers he wanted, he announced that he was instilling social action programs, in accordance with the wishes of the parishioners.
On your observation that there wasn’t a single male teacher at your kid’s elementary school, most would be lucky to have one or two. It really is too bad. That would have been a great chance for many ghetto kids to have a father figure, the lack of which is one reason why we have what we have in the ghettos.
The former British Empire is now afraid to go it alone…seriously!
The assholes featured in the video are, the normal brexit supporting democracy loving outward thinking go getting men and women of our great beautiful and soon to be free land aren’t.
No, a set of British MPs are scared sh*tless about the next election.
I saw this news at work via a report that some unelected guy in the EU saying that Parliament must not prorogue, that it was an undemocratic thing to do. This alone would have beeen reason enough to leave, proof that the EU tells Britain what to do; but it was lost in the general noise. pandemonium an panic.
Wonderful!
Isn’t that a pathetic realization, SS … !?
Trump is now the UK’s Putin.
Trudeau’s Toronto Star and Trudeau’s Globe and Mail are blaming Hitler Harper for Boris. Is there no stopping Harper.
Now us Albertan’s are learning what it will be like for us to try and negotiate our way out of the Canadian Gulag. Go UDI, Go UDI. No muss no fuss. Just 50%1 and see yah later. Kind of like an eviction of the Gulag. Get your shit outa my house and off my lawn. And no shove your treaty’s and contracts up your ass. And speak English you MF. Go UDI.
Yes. Yes. And, YES.
We have tried begging and pleading.
We have tried demands.
We have tried asking nicely.
We have tried threats.
We have tried simply taking it.
All have failed. There is nothing left to discuss, no promise that has ever been kept.
Boris is playing chess. Corbyn is playing checkers. Or maybe tiddly winks.
Prorogation is directed at the EU, not the Brits. Follow the timeline: Boris goes to Europe. Merkel & Macron tell him to pound sand. Boris goes home and prorogues parliament. Now he’ll sit back and wait for the phone to ring.
Has Corbyn blamed the Jews yet?
I seem to recall similar comments when Harper prorogued.
Progressive commies, not an original thought among them.
Well, the Queen is a WW2 veteran after all; never any question she was coming down on the right side.
There was a time when Parliament met for 2 or 3 months, once a year to pass a budget and whatever legislation was necessary. Then they started fall sittings, when I was a kid, I think. Now they can’t even take a few week break when a new PM is appointed. Some US state legislatures used to meet every second year. It’s all about the money. I used to love pay for Montana State Representatives – it was $50 per day while the legislature was in session, every second year. I’m not sure what it is now. Even town and county councils in my neck of the Alberta woods have managed, with frequent meetings and endless committees to turn part time work into $75,000 a year jobs.
The EU is like Hotel California. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave.
“The people must have a voice!” – “No, no, not THOSE people! OUR people!”
It’s telling that parliament must be shut down to allow the democratic choice of the people to take effect. Proroguing parliament was the best thing that Harper did as Prime Minister. If Parliament were prorogued 364 days of the year, we’d all be much better off.
To be fair, a lot of ordinary left-voters voted to leave the EU.
The split of Leave/Remain was not along party lines with respect to the general population.
The political parties have tried to capitalise on the turmoil, but all sides have been terrible when it comes to recognising the
will of the people.
The only people who come out of this with their integrity intact are
Farage
Johnson
The queen
Frank Field (plus a group of other labour ‘leavers’)
To be clear = ‘Brexit’ is not and never has been a party political issue

Only living head of state to have served in WW2.
