  1. I have seen zero indication from “The Energy Industry” that it has the balls to even speak up, let alone fight.

  2. The energy industry will not return until Canaduh is in the rearview mirror. Nobody with any money or brains is going to invest actual money in Canaduh’s energy industry. Usually, investors look for some type of return on that investment. I am pretty sure 2 Trudeau’s have made the point very clearly, it is Ottawa’s oil. Unless the Liberals are counting all of the money, there will be ZERO money. Canaduh has run its course, and came up wanting, TWICE !!!!!!

    NEVER AGAIN !!!!!!

  3. Elections matter.

When people don’t take them with any serious thought, you get what we have now.

    1. Elections matter except in a place called Canada. Were the election deck is stacked and you do not have 1 man/woman 1 equal vote. Canada is set up that Quebec and Atlantic Canada run the table to their advantage every single time.

  4. The only way Alberta can win is if Albertans demand a Binding Referendum for a UDI Mandate. Either fix it right or get the hell out of the Gulag called Canada.

  5. Recently, I chatted with my next-door neighbour at the house I inherited. I openly advocated for Alberta separation. She understood my point, but insisted that this joke of a country needs to stay together, despite the fact that it hasn’t been working for at least the last 50 years.

With people like her voting, we’ll be stuck with this catastrophe known as Confederation.

    1. I usually tell people who “want to keep Canada together” that in that case they have to be willing to send more money to Quebec.

Then many of them start to think.

      1. I mentioned what Quebec’s premier told Kenney with regards to the danegeld, sometimes known as equalization, payments. My neighbour merely shrugged her shoulders with a sense of fatalistic resignation.

Better the status quo for her than the risk of true freedom. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how the rest of the country will vote and keep Prinz Dummkopf in power.

  6. Kennedy wants to be pm one day. Because of that he will never put Alberta first. He needs to go.

    1. Kenney is an educated Jesuit just like PET was educated by the Jesuits. How did that play out? Which reminds I better scoot over to his Twitter page and plant my boot again.

  7. As the days – and years – pass, I become increasingly convinced that Alberta has to pull the pin. I’ve voted small – c -conservative for more than five decades with little to show for it. Quebec and other hangers-on to the east of us will continue to milk this cow. I have lost confidence in the CPC as being interested in upsetting the status quo. The dairy cartel in Quebec bought off Scheer to enable him to beat Max and gain the leadership. And just recently, Trudeau returned the favour and bought off the Cartel to gain theirs. If Scheer has a voice, let alone a voice in support of Alberta, I haven’t heard it. Trudeau and his Liberals are guilty of the most egregious ethics violations and most recently, throwing billions of dollars at adoring fans in election promises. And we hear crickets from Scheer. Time to leave.

    1. You voted conservative for decades, as did I. I was a card carrying member for a long time before I realized that these fools are no more conservative than the most devoted freaking NDP socialist. All parties in Canada are socialist. I am willing to give Max and the PPC a shot at it, they cannot possibly be worse that the shit we have been exposed to for my well over 7 plus decades. If they screw up then turf them next time around. I may not be here but am willing to take a chance.

      1. I give up on Conservative Parties during the Cat Lover Harpers Day. It went PC/Reform/Alliance/PC/CPC. Harper was a Liar and a tinkerer, a typical cat person. Always conniving and lying and weaseling. He got his airtight majority then pissed his pants and stood in them. He could of sold off the CBC, an cut them all to the bone instead he thought I am the Great Man I will never fall. He increased debt and screwed everyone he could. He had a majority and no balls and no backbone. He did as his clone the Sheerer will do work for the Liberal Communist Programs just as if the Liberals were still in power.

        1. A lot of investors and small business owners didn’t think too highly of him, either. His first finance minister, Jim Flaherty, first supported trust units–when there was an election in progress–and then did a 180 on us after it was over. Then, he made it difficult to transfer assets between accounts, particularly retirement plans, claiming that people who did so were tax cheats.

The only reason I voted for Harper was because he would have been best for the country. Others than that, I might not have bothered.

      2. I have to agree OWG…Also a Card carrying memeber who ripped it up/sent it bak to them after the Dairy Fiasco that saw a virtual unknown levitate into the leadership. Stelmach redux ffs.

I want out and have wanted out since 1981.
I too will vote Max as will my wife..workin on my two kids.

  8. The only way to beat Canadian communists is to literally “beat” them. Use sticks, rocks, hammers, whatever is needed to pound some sense into their tiny ideologically screwed up minds. It will come to this eventually.

    1. Make this election “The Red October of Elections” Old Man. Buy Newfy seal clubs and club them like seals. Every time a Trudeau or Climate Whore Barbie show their face in Alberta show up with tar buckets and feathers as a protest. Just so as the RCMP do not gun you all down with H&K MP5’s tar and feather a mannequin likeness of Trudeau and his Soiled Dove Climate Barbie. They are both Whores of the Church of Manmade Global Warming. No disrespect intended to any working Ladies of the evening trying to make an honest dollar.

    2. You’ll know we’ve turned the corner when it is at least as bad for your health to be a communist in North America as it is to be a Christian in north Korea. And that is plenty.

  9. The energy industry surrender monkeys remind of the German business elites who thought they could control Hitler.
They were both wrong. The Trudeau Grits are out to destroy the energy industry first, then the resource industry.
Why? To knock off the Western economic predominance, to justify paying off their cronies.
Just so he can crow about battling climate change and claim his watermelon credentials
Not for economics or actual national leadership, because, unlike sliming, they’re too hard to fathom..
His statement last week that carbon taxes could stop Canadian wildfires, at our paltry 2%, should have disqualified him for office.

Instead he will probably win, for three reasons, notwithstanding his monopoly of sycophantic media and fiscal parasites:
    1. Times are kind of good, except for slow growth, but slowing world economy and boomers bailing, so no fiscal wiggle room.
    2. There are just enough complacent and ignorant voters to vote for a guy who has no clue and has lied them again and again.
    3. “Real conservatives” under their libertarian crybaby leader will try to turn western separation into a self-fulfilling prophesy.

  10. Conferences and speeches don’t get’er done. I have yet to see Kenney DO anything concrete to aid Alberta’s energy sector.
Gang Green is winning and all Kenney is doing is whining. As of right now, I’m not seeing a dime’s difference between Notley and Kenney.

      1. How about some of the things he promised to do to BC and Quebec in his victory speech in April?
Did you listen to his victory speech? Look it up and review it. Kenney has done zero arm twisting to these enemy provinces.

  11. A good February cold snap and power outage with transportation shut down in Hog Town and Montreal complete with frozen bodies on the news would do much more to stimulate reality thinking than any government program from Alberta. You’ll never win the hearts and minds of greens as they are religiously devoted to suicide for all humanity. It’s the mindless mushy middle who need stimulating. They walk among us and unfortunately vote.

  12. I haven’t seen any backbone from the Industry or even Kenney for that matter. Nothing is going to change. Scheer in power? Zzzzz welcome to Trudeau lite. Hand wringing, and studies galore, while making Paul Martin look like an energetic man of action in the rear view mirror.

Kenney was a member of Team Harper, and spent years doing essentially nothing while wearing the faux Uber Conservative costume. CBC still funded. immigration still up. Ruled by minorities and special interests, and no pipelines, all the while allowing themselves and all Canadian Conservatives to be labeled, marginalized, and attacked by zealots.

The Conservative Party has gone back to the days of Joe Clark and stands for nothing but appeasement of those who would never be appeased. The country is simply, moribund and lost.

p.s. remember when the raises to politician salaries was promoted because we needed to attract the best and brightest? Opportunists turned up instead.

  13. I really hope Scheer wins a majority in the upcoming election but the indicators don’t look so good . The term mindless mushy middle pretty much sums up what will keep Scheer from changing the curtains at 24 .

    1. “The term mindless mushy middle pretty much sums up what will keep Scheer from changing the curtains at 24 .”

You might want to squeeze the adjective cowardly in there too, Bill…..

      1. Beyond wet; positively drenched. His clevere Machiavellian scheme is to pretend he is Liberal to confuse the Liberal voters who might actually vote for him in error. Of course, few Conservatives will vote for him.

      2. Beyond wet; positively drenched. His clever Machiavellian scheme is to pretend he is Liberal to confuse the Liberal voters who might actually vote for him in error. Of course, few Conservatives will vote for him.

  14. Well seeing as the deck is stacked against the west deriving a benefit from their resources unless they continue to pay for protection then the way forward is achieved by leaving confederation or waiting for the confederation to go bankrupt when it runs out of other people’s money.

  15. P.E.I. has a HOC representative elected with every 24,000 citizens,
while Alberta has a representative for every 129,000

Even if Alberta had 100 million people, they would still have to surrender 25% of the seats to Quebec.
Ontario and the Atlantics would then take their share of seats guaranteed by confederation.

All said and done, 100 million Albertans vote Conservative and the other 30 million vote Liberal, Alberta loses, over and over again. That is the reality, then to slap them while their down, the Liberal PM appoints their senate representatives, and staffs the SCOC with Eastern appointees.

The deck is stacked, time to walk away from the table, while you still have cab fare.

    1. You explained it very well Indiana Jane. But you left out a lot.
All the courts are stacked as well. So you can not even win in court. There is not one adult man or woman in Canada that has every been allowed to vote on any of these Nation altering programs forced upon us.
We were never allowed to vote yah or nay on our Constitution. Even 3rd world countries recognize this basic universal right, to obtain the consent of the governed.
The joke of a Constitution is nothing more than the rules issued by a Sovereign of a Foreign Country to their appointed Gov. Gen. in 1867 on how to administer a Colony. Then in 1982 a Marxist named Pierre Trudeau added his Marxist ideals on the top and said here is your Constitution. End of discussion.
We are not allowed to elect our own Head of State. Our National Flag, another cruel joke. Now maybe Canadians would have selected it anyway. But on the day it was picked for us by I believe it was 8 Liberal MP’s while the Commons was in Recess. It was a done deal. Even tho they did not even have enough MP’s for a Quorum.
At one point in Alberta the RCMP was even locking Alberta farmers up for selling their own wheat to Americans without Ottawa’s permission.
There is so much wrong with Canada that can never be fixed. Bilingualism forced on us without our consent, Multiculturalism forced on us without our consent. The list is way to long to even begin to tabulate it all here.
Taxation, criminal levels of taxation. Taxes take more of the average Canadians income than the necessities of life, Food, Clothing and Housing.
The rules and laws and regulations on our backs is equal to a stack of paper 14 stories high, over 550,000 Pages of Rules. You are always guilty of an act or an omission.
It is a prison. A Gulag. No freedom of speech, no right to defend life and limb, No property rights.
It is long past time for Albertans to force the hand. Albertans need to start a grass roots drive to force Premier Kenney to hold a Binding Referendum on a Mandate for a UDI. Because although Ottawa did pass the Clarity Act after Quebecs last Referendum in 1995, the Clarity Act and the SCOC are all stacked. All part of the plan to draw you into negotiations to wear you down and drain your resources. There is a solution and it is the Hammer. Take up the Hammer of a Democratic Vote on a Binding Referendum for a Mandate for a UDI. That is the Hammer. It must be done with no outside interference allowed, shut down the CBC in Alberta during the whole process, because Ottawa owns all of the media in Canada now as well. We owe this too ourselves, our children, our grandchildren and our posterity. We owe it to all Canadians to smash the lock off the Prison Gates.
“If you love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”

      ― Samuel Adams

  16. “Capitalism always will win eventually as the only economic system aligned with the universal human ambition for more.”

Not quite. It always wins as the system aligned with the goal of national survival, of granting the nation to ability to fight modern wars, and win them.

    1. I think Max is the ONLY man to vote for, if you are an Albertan conservative. It is going to take a couple of years to recover from our economic depression. More left wing politics, we might never recover. If we get a flood of new 3rd worlders here during those 2-5 years, we will NEVER recover. At the very least, Max does not want to open the floodgates. as the other 2 apparently do. If he does happen to break through in Quebec, he could possibly be PM. Populism is catching on worldwide, and this country needs a little waking up, at any rate. Talk me out of it.

  17. The answer is clearly no.

To defeat someone or something, you have to fight. I see no evidence that Kenney, or anyone in the energy sector even acknowledges that there are any problems or that anything needs to change. That none of them have thrown a single punch, haven’t raised their voices, heck, they don’t even appear to put on pants before going out in public.

There is no possibility of victory, when you won’t even field a team.

  18. The “energy industry” isn’t some monolithic beast that is going to champion the Alberta economy. It’s made up of businesses that are simply going to do what is best for themselves. In the case of large multinationals, there are a dozen or more jurisdictions around the world fighting tooth and nail to get those businesses to spend more resources in those countries. Why tie up your management teams and reputation battling the establishment in Canada when the establishment everywhere else in the world welcomes you with open arms? Those guys are gone. The junior oil and gas industry is dead. Most of the younger entrepreneurs in that game have long moved on to other things. You’re going to be left with a handful of companies owning pretty much everything that is left. The end of life caretakers.
I’m too old to move but if I was a 20-something or 30-something in Calgary I’d be getting out now.

  19. “Justin Trudeau wants to shut down the same industry, which he regards as a threat to the environment and a menace to the inalienable rights of native people”

That paragraph is Smoke & Mirrors regarding the Oil Industry,,, It is the INAILIENABLE Rights of Indians that will destroy Canada…
In 2016 the Supreme Court of Canada ruled that Metis’s are Indians & are considered an indigenous people with Land Rights (same as treaty Tribes, Manitoba, Sask, Alberta & parts of Ontario are ALL METIS lands)
How could such a loaded Question get Legal Consideration by any Court unless Jody & Turdo made sure the SCOC held that the same UN definition was defined for Metis…Agenda driven law

The NW Rebellion by Louis Riel has nearly disappeared from History.. Just a mere resistance without reference to treason….
“The North-West Rebellion (or the North-West Resistance, Saskatchewan Rebellion, Northwest Uprising, or Second Riel Rebellion) of 1885 was an uprising by the Métis people under Louis Riel and an associated uprising by First Nations Cree and Assiniboine of the District of Saskatchewan against the government of Canada.”

There is a game at play, better get heads out of butts, watch the Courts
