Megan Rapinoe Taken Down a Few Notches

Megan Rapinoe, an outspoken member of the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team, has been rather pleased with herself of late. Joel Engel decided it was perhaps long overdue to educate Ms. Rapinoe about some basic facts:

Correct us if we’re wrong. But our understanding is that most or all of you and your teammates came from middle-class homes (or better) and were allowed and encouraged to take up organized sports at early ages. All (or most) of you went to college and I’d be surprised if any of you paid full-tuition.

This is . . . not the norm around the world. It should be! But this is a form of privilege that’s been granted to you by dint of your birth and we kind of thought that you’d (1) be grateful for it, and (2) would recognize it for what it is and be humble about how many of the women you competed against in France did not have the same advantages.

Because let’s be honest: If you’re a female soccer player, being born in America is like winning the lottery. The U.S. women’s teams have now won four World Cup titles, four Olympic gold medals, and eight CONCACAF gold cups—that’s the kind of domination that no national team in any country in any sport, male or female, has ever achieved. Something must be going right with America and our support of women’s athletics. USA! USA!

  1. Is this like people sneaking across the Mexican border to enter American concentration camps? The place might not be that bad after all.

    1. Russia had to build a wall to keep people from fleeing.
America is having to build a wall to keep people out.

  2. Let’s have FULL equality. The US women’s team should play in the men’s qualifying rounds.

No qualify, then no women’s World Cup.

    1. When the transgenders take over women’s soccer how much will they be paid?

  3. Where do I even begin?

Women control a good 80 percent of consumption in advanced economies. The amount of that they actually earn honestly is vanishingly small. The wonders men might have worked with the resources wasted on women’s frivolity staggers the imagination.

Do the Bulwark really think women are even capable of gratitude to their long-suffering fathers, brothers and (ex-)husbands for making their pampered lifestyle possible?

If they were they wouldn’t have spent the last hundred years (just in the States) voting for every mad scheme the globalists dreamed up—alcohol prohibition, gun confiscation, expropriation of their ex-husbands by socialist governments, their alleged rights to abortion, adultery, and miscegenation, a lush welfare state to pay for the bastards of “single mothers,” all without consequences to women and all at the expense of the men who do all the real work and pay all the taxes.

The Never Trumpers at the Bulwark don’t understand that women, with very few exceptions, don’t know when they’re well off. They’ve been like this since Eve’s day.

If they did, the men of the Western world would still be free today, and President Trump would have been free to enjoy a peaceful retirement from a distinguished business career, and not have been handed the thankless task of undoing the damage done by the sorts of women now lining up to lie about he raped them, as if he couldn’t have had them for pocket change.

What might I have said to Megan? Ah yes.

In twenty years the artificial uterus will be practical, breaking women’s monopoly on reproduction, and removing most of the last of the reasons the men of the Western world, who built and invented everything and got nothing in return but abuse, still see women as anything more than just another evolutionary cul-de-sac eating at their substance, as long overdue for the dustbin of human evolution as the Negroids the sisterhood use as playthings behind their men’s backs.

Start thinking of good reasons why you ought to be spared a trip to the dogfood factory, miss, because playing soccer about as well as a fifteen-year-old schoolboy is not going to cut it.

  4. I don’t care about her lesbian sexual preferences…but don’t piss on my flag you A-hole
If Rapinoe is insecure in her life choices, better she drowns in her own puke…
It is always that single Straw that breaks the Camels back….

  5. After the US men won GOLD in the 1924 Olympics … Rugby was dropped from the Olympic Games … because America dominated, beating France and was HATED so much riots broke out in the championship game.

In 2005 Women’s softball was dropped from the Olympic Games … because the American women CRUSHED every other nation, and the Marxist Olympic movement just couldn’t tolerate that kind of US DOMINANCE.

The US women have DOMINATED Olympic soccer since it was introduced in 1996, winning GOLD 4x out of 6 Games and getting SILVER 1x. If the US women return to top of the podium in 2020 … I expect the Olympics to DROP women’s soccer … or radically modify it to harm the US women.

The idea that America needs to … “do more” … to include women in sports simply ignores reality. US sportswomen have been granted extraordinary access to both sport and sport as a means to college admission. All the “activist” commercials run by NIKE and VW in these games … implying that MORE has to be done for US women athletes is bloody sickening.

Its the same thing with “racism” in America. Just when America had fully absorbed MLK Jr’s message about the content of ones character and America had become a TRULY colorblind society (evidently) by electing half-black Obama TWICE. That very same Exhibit-A of America’s acceptance of all races … turns around and calls us all RACISTS. Turns around and calls the PO-leece RACISTS.

Megan Rapeinhoe is behaving like the FIRST half-woman athlete to ever win GOLD … in her best Obama-cloning voice. She dares “lecture” an “tolerant” America about how “intolerant” we are as a nation. If you ever want to see the poster child of the UGLY American … there shim is!! Arrogant. Intolerant. Uneducated. A credit to nobody.

  6. The author is incorrect.

Canada dominated men’s hockey for far longer and to a greater degree for decades.

And the US dominates in women’s soccer because none of the traditional soccer playing nations are interested in it. Participation levels for females in those countries is a small fraction of that of males. Were any of them to be as interested in women’s soccer as they are in men’s the US team would have trouble even qualifying.

  7. Rapinoe had a golden opportunity to promote her team and her sport. In fact, wasn’t the team complaining that male athletes earn multiples of female athletes because men’s sports exponentially out draw women’s. Instead, she opts to insult half the country with her cheap political stunt. But, what do you expect from a self aggrandizing SJW? It’s always about them, about their pet grievance, and every damn thing has to be political.

  8. The great irony in this, unintended consequences they may be, is that within a few years, all womens’ athletic records, trophies and championships will be held by transsexuals, who have the bodies of men no matter their hormone therapy, surgery or inner belief.

Only fascists support their counterintuitive nonsense, imho.

  9. The USWNT coaches threw Alex Morgan under the bus to promote the TDS Rapinoe.
Rapinoe and Morgan tied with six goals for the Golden Boot, with Rapinoe winning on a tiebreak. Morgan scored six goals from the field. Rapinoe scored half of hers on penalty kicks, including one earned by Morgan. Previous to this tournament, Morgan took most of the PK as she is the most logical choice. Rapinoe is a wing and not used to shooting at the goal straight on.
And the writer of the article is right. The USWNT is composed mostly of privileged middle class (or better) whites. There are two WOC on the team, only one of whom played.
P.S. If the USWNT doesn’t like the difference in bonus between the men’s team and the women’s team for winning the World Cup, talk to FIFA, they are the ones who decide. But don’t get FIFA mad, or else they may stop the mandate requiring national organizations to sponsor national women’s leagues. That is the only reason there are women’s leagues and thus local teams. The previous two U.S. women’s soccer leagues, without such sponsorship, folded for lack of interest.

    1. OB, my friend … you sound like a soccer family. Your wife must have been the prototypical soccer mom. Tiger mom AND soccer mom? I had a few of those on my youth teams. That’s quite true about A. Morgan. I must admit I was very annoyed at the woman commentator continuing to run-down A.Morgan as being “off her game” … it almost sounded as though she was targeted for criticism. BTW … how can the FIRST tie-breaker NOT go to goals scored on the field over PK’s? That’s rubbish.

      1. No actually, my wife doesn’t like sports at all, and my children are more like her than me. When I was young, I was really into sports, watching and playing. I played basketball (at the Y against people a foot taller, I had a 36 inch vertical but that still left me half a foot below the rim) table tennis (probably my best sport but not against other Chinese) football (pick up games but I loved playing on the line against people at least 50 pounds heavier) tennis (like table tennis, the only thing I ever had was the top spin forehand) pool (I thought just okay but I won a tournament once at the school pub), and bridge and chess, competitions but not really physical sports. I didn’t play much soccer growing up here in the fifties and sixties, but it should have been my best sport. And I try to understand games I watch more. So I can talk about women’s soccer, and I can tell you there is a real difference in skill level. I watched their World Cup, and I can tell you only the U.S. tries to reverse the field with an aerial pass, and even it can only land the pass somewhere close, and “complete” the pass only because the U.S. player got to the ball on the ground first. Even U-15 boys do that regularly, especially if you talk about the academy teams of the top European clubs.
There is no doubt Morgan is the best player. The other clubs made sure to have someone mark her whenever the U.S. had the ball, and she was always doubleteamed whenever she had it. And they got away with playing very physical with her. The most egregious fouls only resulted in a common foul. By and large the tactic was successful as the U.S. only won by one goal each game between Thailand and the final. But that was also why the other players had more space. The announcers never seem to realize that.

        1. Fascinating background. My table tennis skill is somewhere between that of a 4-5 yo child (not raised in China). You surely would have been a quality soccer player, because you have the ability to “read” the game. Perhaps the most important characteristic of a top soccer player is “match intelligence”. Yes, you can learn it … but it is mostly inborn. You see the patterns of movement on and off the ball, you read the tactic of your opponent, you read and anticipate your teammates movement.

Soccer is a fluid game, and difficult to understand by most Americans who are used to “set” plays in both football and basketball. Soccer is much closer related to hockey than to football or basketball. Many of the positions, players, and movements are analogous to hockey.

I’ve been quite critical of the women’s game, and especially the mismatch between the US women and their opponents. But I must say the US women are getting much better at basic skills such as trapping and settling balls at their feet. It is virtually an automatic, unconscious skill in the men’s game. So much so, that the men can easily control really hard hit balls at pace effortlessly. I was impressed by the US women’s ability to play and control much stronger passes than their opponents.

I’m not a huge fan of how direct the US women play, esp. when targeting A.Morgan with long flighted balls forward (esp. with her tight double marking). Much better chances were created when Morgan was moving laterally through the box to pick up passes and/or crosses from … that purple haired teammate.

          1. Talking about the USWNT, Breitbart has an article on the parade held for them in NYC. They quoted two players extensively, and I was mystified because the names were unfamiliar. It turns out one is a reserve keeper who never got into a game in France, and the other was a reserve who only came in as a reserve in the Chile game, that’s the game when the coach started the second string. So she just survived the final cut. Another loud mouth player not mentioned started that Chile game, and played in two others. Those are the most vocal players.
The team may be taking a bad rap in the misguided desire for team unity. I haven’t heard any of the other starters come out in support of that purple haired creature (in fact Morgan said the TEAM has yet to decide), and I have seen all the other starters conduct themselves respectfully during the national anthem. Team unity, or they have just been bullied into silence.

          2. Yes, bullied into silence. As we well understand, these people are crybullies. Moaning about “injustice” as they unleash their own brand of “injustice” upon you!!

However … personal opinions need to be separated from “team” opinion. I blame the coach. A proper coach would not allow the TEAM’s reputation to be sullied by a few loudmouth activists. But, I suspect the coach agrees 100% with everything MEgan Rapeinhoe is saying. The coach eveidently believes the TEAM has an obligation to be activists in addition to soccer players. IMHO that only diminishes the team and the sport.

I strongly defend Rapeinhoe’s FREE SPEECH rights … but do NOT support her personal opinions tainting the team and the sport.

  10. Never let an embittered, Lesbian butch, Trump hater speak for the whole lot. Time to get a life, honey. Income equality? The women’s soccer team raised about 130 million (?) the men’s , some 6 Billion. Do the math, girls…………………. or whatever you identify as today.

  11. Indiana. So true same as Canada’s women’s hockey team they can sometimes beatTriple aaa boys teams with no body contact .What a joke!!

  12. Megan Rapinoe is a hero for her tolerant and compassionate attitude towards dRumpf!

  13. So it is 1980 and I am back at a small, primitive camp McCall from being on a Special Forces exercise. We are filthy, dirty, stink like dead goats, and very hungry, as you can never pack enough food and most of us haven’t eaten in days. It’s midnight and raining but there is hot food waiting for us. I’m last in line. Outside. My tin cup is filling a bit from the rain. A couple of shadows join up behind me. Not us. Officers. The short Colonel had spent 5 years in a cage, in the jungle as a guest of the Viet Cong. I say hello, and say they don’t have plates and you’ll need your canteen cup. The Colonel says that they’re not eating, they just wanted to be last to make sure there was enough food.
So, I don’t look at athletes other than with contempt.

When I see a fat person trying to walk the neighborhood, or a post surgery therapy, or a busted up old guy or gal in their 70’s, puting in 8hrs, that I respect.

  14. An ex coach of the womens US team said he’d have his team play young males to hone their skills prior to big matches. It was extremely effective up to a certain age of the males. THIRTEEN. Any older he found it lost it’s ‘effectiveness’.

    1. I asked a competitive coaching friend to have his team of U10 boys play my U14 girls as we were preparing for State Cup … it was a total and complete embarrassment for my girls, despite the fact they were roughly twice the size of his boys. He was a very good coach and admittedly had his boys playing exceptionally beautiful soccer … but their speed and aggressiveness made my girls look like they were standing still. Oh well … my goalkeeper got a lot of work, anyway.

  15. FYI the Bullwarkshit is a NeverTrump cesspool where morons still have wet dreams about President Hillary turning Iran into a glass parking lot.
