Blog Notes

I’m fighting a pretty bad case of eye strain this morning, thus I need to back away from the screen for the coming hours, if not a day or two. Blogging will be slow. Entertain yourselves.

Green grass and high tides forever,
Castles of stone, souls and glory
Lost faces say we adore you
As kings and queens bow and play for you …

      Hit it!!

If you love guitar solos as much as I do … this live 1978 concert film is brilliant!

          1. Dang! For some reason I just got the urge to twist the head off a crawfish and suck HARD!

    1. Speaking of bass …

Please don’t think less of me … like it’s “un-Christian” or something … but it’s time to spin some vinyl of my favorite band and musicians (Frusciante and Flea). I know, I know, I Californicate enough of you all day long … I don’t need to sing about it.

PS … what a sweet guitar!

    1. My iPad wreaks havoc with my eyes. My ophthalmologist recommends doing what Kate is doing … refocus the eyes outside. Long distances … which are evidently abundant in Sask.

  1. Conrad Black is not impressed:

“Gabe Schoenfeld, from whose forehead a cuckoo bird emerges, screeching and flapping, whenever the name of the president of the United States is uttered in any context, has earned a new trophy for the confection of defamatory fiction with his attack on Elliot Kaufman, the Wall Street Journal, and me in the unseaworthy lifeboat of The Bulwark, to which he and others were disembarked after the failure of the Weekly Standard.”

    1. Stan priceless comment. From whose forehead a cuckoo bird emerges. Keeperrr.

  2. LoL…”Rhodes scholar” Naomi Wolf on a show to promote her book is corrected by her interviewer Matthew Sweet for her total misinterpretation/misunderstanding of a legal term which he discovered in her book.
The secondary embarrassment was almost to much for me to bear.
    I said almost.

  3. BC SUPREME COURT UNANIMOUSLY REJECTS PROPOSED ANTI-PIPELINE LAW

BC had referred a proposal to the BC court to ‘regulate’ the flow of some dangerous good through the province. Translation: shut down Transmountain Pipeline expansion.

More transparency that will likely be unflattering for the Dems…summer will likely get a little warmer for them.

  5. Kate, get a voice to text program for your computer, they work great, and you just talk, and then read for errors. A lot less “focusing” and less strain.

    1. That isn’t much help when I’ve got 4 hours of artwork after a day of driving. I was able to take the eye patch off around suppertime, so I think it’s on the mend.

  6. As your friendly neighborhood optician, I have two suggestions. First you need a reading glass appropriate for the distance of the screen. If a desktop moniter is involved it may need to be a multifocal. The eyes need to be completely relaxed to maintain normal blinking. Secondly the lighting should be muted and the screen no brighter than necessary. For Gawdsake don’t try to peek through the intermediate portion of a regular progressive for more than a few minutes, for those readers who know what I’m talking about. Cheers to all.
