While I agree with your assessment, I don’t think there are enough liberal voters left in Alberta to cause any type of swing effect like that save in maybe 2 ridings in Calgary. Liberal is a dirtier word than socialist in these areas.

An example of “you wanted this, you’ve got it”… maybe 25 years ago, on a drilling rig in the NWT, there were three satellite phones, two of which had broken because the locals had been permitted to use them to call their friends and family, the one remaining phone was critical for emergencies, a supervisor was going off shift and remarked “…and keep those Indians off the phone”. Well there was outrage, “racism!”. So the man was fired and sent home, and the locals are suddenly all standing around with their mouths hanging open… “oops”, “teeheehee”… because they actually got along great with the guy and liked him… they hadn’t considered the possibility that they would get him fired…
Back in the day – I’m sure some of you remember this little exchange. The Mayor of Calgary, addressing somebody, likely the Press, blurted-out ” – And it’s a d@mned strange thing when I’ve got more Frenchmen in my jails than Indians!” There was instant white-hot rage from the PC-crowd, and loud demands for him to retract and apologize, to which he answered “Why would I, it’s true!”
Why can’t we all have plain-spoken politicians like that?
Democrats don’t want more “democrats” voting in counties that Democrats are already winning. Democrats want these “new democrats” sent to Republican counties, or even better swing counties. Democrats winning with 90% rather than Democrats winning with 60% is of know value in a Electoral system. Democrats want to win more counties, not win their counties with a large percentage.
I have a brother who is almost certainly a psychopath, and he’s exactly as described. For example, a math (or, if you prefer, maths) teacher in high school informed the entire class on the first day that he assigned homework each Friday and collected it the following Friday. He also informed them that he didn’t grade it – he just reviewed it to see whether the class was learning what they should. He further informed them that any student who didn’t hand in the homework would fail the class. My brother refused to hand in the homework, did very well on the tests, and failed, whereupon he told me that it wasn’t fair.
I do wish that the speaker had been clearer that he’s talking about the consequences to the psychopath, not the consequences to others, which, based on my experiences, psychopaths understand quite well.
