It seemed obvious that the point of the Russian collusion narrative was to distract people from the fact the Obama White House was engaged in activity that would have made Nixon blush. If there was a conspiracy, it was the media running cover for the crooks in the Obama administration.
This understanding blinded people to what could be the most important part of the Russian collusion story. The Left really believed it. They really thought there was a secret conspiracy between Trump people and Putin people to work some secret magic to alter the 2016 election. They did not know the nature of this magic. In fact, it was probably supernatural, but the Left was sure it was real. This is something people outside the Progressive hive are just starting to realize. The Left really is that crazy.

These are people who not only don’t know which bathroom the 127 genders should use but that we all should acknowledge and celebrate the “fact” that there are 127 genders.
Move the goal posts and conflate, conflate, conflate. I have no problem believing that Russian trolls were making mischief, regarding the election and in general, on social media. And, I expect that they have done the equivalent for decades, prior to the advent of social media. Whether the trolls were directed by Putin personally is another question. To the extent they were coordinated, I think their goal was to undermine faith in the electoral process and in whomever got elected. What I don’t believe is that their mischief was geared to elect Donald Trump over Hillary. I don’t believe, for a minute, that Putin and Trump are on the same page. The alternate hypothesis, that Putin had something on Trump and favored his election, in order to influence American policy by extortion, is at least a bit more believable. It falls on its face when confronted with reality and Trump policies: fracking and foreign.
I disagree, Trump and Putin are both easy to understand; Trump is USA first, Putin is Russia first. Easy to understand, predictable, stable, behavior. I believe that both Putin and Trump find the other easy to deal with, because you always basically know what their general goal is going to be before you even get to the meeting.
The fact is that this trap was set for any Republican and not specifically for Trump. Obama and his deep state minions undoubtedly had spies in every Republican candidate’s campaign.

The real collusion was in the Obama/Clinton cabal, with Clapper, Brennan and Comey doing the grunt work.
It was less that, and more about shaping the primary so they could efficiently apply their resources. Think back to when it was clear Trump would be the candidate for the general election. He couldn’t get rid of Cruz until an unsubstantiated story popped up out of the blue. Cruz’s infidelity.
In hindsight, it’s pretty obvious that Fusion GPS planted the story using their string of journalists they had on the payroll. Simpson, when he testified (and lied point blank before the committee) refused to turn over financial records. Eventually, he provided a portion of them which quickly became obfuscated from the public. Once it was clear Trump would be the candidate, they went to work placing “spies.” The timeline works impeccably. And, on that note, I still think Carter Page was a willing participant which explains why he was never truly pursued by Mueller, and his civil suit seems to be on hiatus.
we all know how it came about what we don’t know is why the American people have allowed their country to be turned into a third world bananarama freaking republic. the DNC are as crooked as a snake and the democrats would destroy the constitution if they are given the opportunity. when a lie is the basis for all the actions in the past two years I will suggest that America is screwed and I just came back from my perch in Florida. the economic activity is freaking incredible but they are unable to see the destruction being perpetrated by the left and they continue to ignore the massive debt and unfunded liabilities in the 100’s of trillions. add to that a million illegals crossing the southern border every year and sucking off the government welfare system and hey all that is left to say is goodbye.
Will Americans ever know the extent that the FBI, DOJ and IRS were used by the Demos? Trump could have a field day by doing the same investigations as Mueller. Hillary Clinton should have at a minimum been charged with violating national security. I would suggest that if the Obama era people avoid prosecution they will be emboldened to repeat the process or that even some Republicans will do the same. It is a slippery slope. We all see what is happening in Canada and should not have to ask whether it can happen.
As a Boomer it was brought home to me quite clearly in the past couple of weeks that my world does not exist anymore. A heart to heart talk with my son and his wife made me realize that the younger generation is more tolerant of ‘grey’ politicians and truth. They are not politically aware and their perceptions of truth are grounded in an education not based in reality. My parents grew from an era where they knew how to build and repair almost anything. I always felt guilty that I did not learn enough from them. My kids are faced with a different value system all together. A system of values that in a large extent rejects a lot of what I consider true.
The long march through the institutions continues apace. Trump, with all his flaws, is just about our only hope but it will take more than four or eight years of Trump to reverse the tide. A lot of damage has been done. Maybe Trump can start changing the minds of enough people to make a difference. The cowardice of our own side is as much a problem as the insane ideas of our opponents, however.
The Deep State under the control of the Democrat Party does exist. We have the same thing in Canada with the Laurentian Elite family compact controlling the country to their benefit.

My advice to every Trump and member of his administration? PHONE/REMOTE INTERVIEWS ONLY. Do not be in a room with any of these people.

Yeah. I”m watching friends in real life proposing that Mueller wrote this report as a feint and he has another shoe to drop. They can’t let go.
I suppose these are the same people that get a glazed look in their eyes when Uranium One is mentioned, something that Mueller was up to his eyeballs in involvement, as well as Hitlery and crew.

Let us do a bit of thinking here. What if there was a Russian conspiracy that fed information to the Democrats. What would be the Russians end game? Logic would say create chaos in the US post election. Guess what. The Russian plan worked! The democrats are Russian dupes and have been creating exactly what Russia had hoped would happen. Chaos in the US hamstringing the duly elected POTUS.
One thing I’ve noticed is they’ve gone radio silence on anti blumpf Facebook posts. Seriously it was several per day every day sometimes more and now… Zero.
Russia has always wanted the US presidential candidate that favoured a stronger US military and a stronger NATO to win.
That candidate was Trump.
And Russia always wanted increased energy dependence and less dependence on Middle East oil.

Stan, you nailed it. I have to admit that although I never believed the Russian collusion narrative of the left, I never stopped to ask that one simple question: “Why the hell would Russia want Trump in power instead of Hillary?” A: They wouldn’t.
Russia also always wanted Poland to acquire new US made weapons.
I knew it from the very beginning. The idea that Donald Trump would hire Russian hookers to piss on a hotel
bed was so laughable that no sentient being could believe it. This was the entirety of the Russian “dossier”
that was the pretext to spy on the Trump campaign via fake FISA warrants.
We now know that the piss tape story was composed in 2007 for uses against another political enemy. It was
shelved because it was not needed since the Democrat candidate won election or re-election in 2006. Never
