Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

‘First comes shock, then denial, then navel gazing, followed up with depression, and arrogance, finally anger.’
They are now in the shock, and denial stage.
Just before the elections I hope their anger and arrogance will destroy them.
In an interview yesterday George Papadopoulos says it looks like Mueller set him up and then tried to entrap him. At worst, Mueller investigated him for conspiring with Russia while Mueller was fully aware that every contact he had was an FBI, MI6, or Australian Intelligence agent. The FBI was also running stings on Carter Page, Roger Stone, Paul Manifort, and likely others. Roger Stone said he had difficulty remembering his “Russian” contact because Stone wouldn’t talk with him when he was offered information. The FBI also likely set up the Trump Tower meeting trying to entrap more Trump associates. In the end they entrapped no-one and Mueller knew it was all a setup but spent 2 years investigating nothing.
now find out if those 30,000 emails were really yoga instructions….
Order the NSA to give them up.
Now Comey, in classic CYA fashion, opines well maybe there was obstruction, given all the non-facts and his lapses of integrity.
His higher call continues to be himself. He’s would make a good flip candidate imho to get at Brennan, the real crook.
Their culpability is directly proportional to their shrillness of defense, with spitting traitor spewing Brennan best of breed.
Apparently Trump ordered Hillary’s emails released, even though they weren’t. Her idiocy became his fault.
Newsflash, the whole world has Hillary’s emails, but they can’t open up on her, yet, or risk revealing the sources and methods.
She was the Sec of State with an open server at her residence; like give me a break, who’s kidding who?
They were foolish and sloppy; they were arrogant; now they are laying smoke for their retreat and advance on another front.
Can the likes of Schiff, Green, Swalwell, Hirono and others last much longer at their present influence?
Too bad so sad for them, since Mueller has reported, the dominoes are lined up well, with bad Dem hair days imminent.
It should be in everybody’s interest, except for the ludicrous ones, to get to the bottom of this abuse of power and process.
The American body politic has been dealt a blow which has left a mark, and there must be a reckoning before reconciliation.

I doubt that there is the slightest feeling of remorse from that sector of the institutional left that masquerades as media/entertainment. To them, this was a great distraction and successfully drawn out form of harassment of the Trump Administration. It doesn’t mater one iota that it was blatantly fraudulent. Their remorse stems from Trumps election and it justifies any activity (arguably) shy of assassination. Their people have been cut deals and will get away with crimes that others are paying for thanks to a corrupted justice system. The US had their Trudeau 1.0 in Obama and similarly, the institutions of the state will never be the same again. Trump, a loose canon populist will continue to be the target of the institutional left in every way imaginable until they can engineer the “legitimacy” of one of their own in office again.
The globalists have no qualms about murder. As long as Trump is alive there is the chance they may be able to discredit him. Even if it could not be proven that they asasinated him, his infallible martyred ghost might even more difficult to deal with than he is.
Other than this little quibble I am in full agreement with your statement.
My gut instinct told me that Barr was the man. Barr was the AG we needed all along. OTOH … 2-years of a farce, built on a lie (multiple lies) and Deep state corruption needed to play out. Hence MY President patiently bided his time while the witch hunt played on and on and on. Well … look out now … I still believe that Barr is both a highly skilled and experienced Deep State veteran … and a constitutional patriot. I believe Barr will happily make his own personal legacy … restoring constitutionality to America and her bureaucratic public servants. And to further weed out the bad actors embedded in our government from the 8-year long legacy of Obama.

What is at root to this whole Russia-gate affair is the firmly held belief among a majority of the Democrats that Trump could not have legitimately won that election, he being such a repulsive figure in their eyes. They therefore sought a credible (in their minds) explanation, and when offered the Russian collusion story, embraced it to their core. They still hold the revulsion to Trump, and will have a very difficult time letting go of the belief that he stole the election. Many never will get past that idea.
You nailed it Woodporter.
Thanks. I want to add that in no way do I say that there are not nefarious actors in this. There are plenty of those, who didn’t necessarily believe the whole Russia-gate narrative, but used the gullibility of those who did to provide the cover for their misdeeds.

Excerpt:
“Russian espionage and political meddling.
OK, anybody surprised? This humble blog wrote a long time ago (for example, here and here) about Russian interference in our political processes. This has been a long, long, long standing effort by Moscow, both as the capital of Russia and of the late-USSR. Moscow, please note, was doing it when Bernie Sanders went there on his honeymoon. The Soviets/Russians did and do this a lot, and not just in the USA. They have ample espionage, influence, and sabotage operations throughout the West. Did it prove effective in altering the election results? Please. Russia did not make Ohio, Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida, Pennsylvania go for Trump. Russia did not make Clinton take a three day break in the final phase of the election, and so on. All of that you can assign to Hillary Clinton’s very bad campaign and to Donald Trump’s very good campaign.
Let us also never cease to remind the Demo/Progos that the 2016 Russian interference took place on Obama’s watch. What did he do about it? Not much. In fact, as it turns out, Obama and Clinton used the excuse of Russian interference to justify spying on Trump’s campaign and to have the CIA, NSA, FBI, etc.–not to mention the media–serve as extensions of the Democrat Party.”
