Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Trump The Establishment
Its Burnaby, ENDP voters tend to be oblivious to the candidate, they will dogmatically vote for the commie candidate, cuz hes a true believer. Richard Lee is a horrible token Liberal, looking to double dip on his MLA pension.
Jaggy is an awful mess, just a poseur of identity politics.
But I look forward to him, being far more left than Trudope, as Trudy moved far left, and he needs a foil in their race to the far left. Trudy is more vulnerable than ever, thanks to his many mis steps. Lets embrace Jaggy in that endeavour, its only good news for the CPC running to the election.
DanBC is correct about Burnaby.. Weird politics there.I’m sick of looking at him, so hope he and his weird hat are gone.
The Dippers could run a dead donkey as a candidate in that riding and it would still get elected simply because of its party affiliation.
Burnaby South voters just proved you absolutely right. They don’t call it ‘the left coast’ for nothing.
I’d rather Jagmeet than the local Librano. Let’s hope they’re 0-3
Who will be the “KING OF BS” (Burnaby South).
Whoever wins might get Svend Robinson right next door in Burnaby North. Better hide the shiny things.
Better not bend over either.
Burnaby (different riding , I think) always elected Svend so it’s likely he’ll squeeze in. To bad though, as a weekened NDP (Jagmeet is unpopular) means a stronger Lib position in the polls. Strategically, they need a popular leader to pull Lib votes and given the Green Party’s leadership, they aren’t holding up their end either in pulling leftist votes from the Libs.
This is the NDPs to lose. The Liberals had a chance but they deep sixed that chance with their Diversity Dogma. Kinda funny to watch the woman chosen for her diversity points disqualify herself because she told the truth about how diversity really works.
The Conservatives to their credit ignored the diversity dogma, or just got it wrong, and chose a Korean Canadian in a heavily Chinese Canadian riding. Still they should do better than they have done recently in this riding. The PPC could be the spoiler though.
That means Jag Meat will win and will avoid being Dead Meat! Tomorrow the Media Party will be Singhing his praises!
“The Conservatives to their credit ignored the diversity dogma, or just got it wrong, and chose a Korean Canadian in a heavily Chinese Canadian”
There’s a difference?
Got it Wong probably.
Go PPC!!!
If Jagmeet loses, the NDP will, no doubt, go with a new leader. That could play well in the fall with more vote splitting on the left. A populist NDP candidate could steal a lot of Liberal voters, as opposed to the current leader who delivers them to Justin’s door. Scheer, is in rough waters even if he runs unopposed, as he reminds everyone that Joe Clark never left the scene, he just downloaded to a younger body. Maxime, even though I like the guy, is not helping anyone, and his 4% of the vote will deliver him into political oblivion, while depriving the CPC of badly needed votes. All in all, barring a leader change at the NDP, it will be Trudeau for another 4-5 years. Maybe Western Canada will realize they’re serf by that time.
Jughead is about as effective as party leader as Audrey McLaughlin was.
Good news if Jagmeet loses to the Lib; then we are a step closer to a second Trudeau term, and separation of the west.
If Jagmeet weakens Trudeau, that is bad news. That will give morons hope that Canada can be saved, and prevent the west from making the rational decision to get out of the failed state.
The West, unfortunately, will not separate. there is NO politician that has ever stated the West wants out, not Kenney or anyone else.
Four more years of Trudeau means a flood of third world immigration, less industry , and eventual bankruptcy as Canada becomes Mexico.
As a nice bonus, firearms will be stolen by the government, hunters will probably be allowed to own one bolt action rifle which they’ll have to store at a central location, and apply for a permit each time they want to take it out hunting or to the Range.
Gun violence will run rampant in Toronto and all the large cities as new criminal gangs form and battle for turf. Some of those ISIS returnees would make really mean gangsters.
But through it all,Little Canader will remain intact, and we all rise for the singing of our national anthem at hockey games with each verse sung in a different language as we pander to the ethnics. Fortunately for me and many of us here at SDA, we will be pushing up daisies as they say, so it won’t matter a bit to us.
Hopefully, our children and grandchildren will have been wise enough to join the Liberal Party of Canada, who will look after them much as the communist Party looked after it’s people in eastern Europe in the good old days.
kevin, ewe think that Nutley will want to separate????
“Is Jagmeet done?”
Is Jagmeet dogmeat?
I can’t see Jughead the Turban losing… the people of that riding would vote for a turd wearing a hat as long as that Turd was an NDP Turd… thats why the NDP chose that British Columbia riding for their Brampton Ontario candidate. IMO Jughead from Brampton Ontario wins Burnaby BC byelection in a walk. BC ain’t what it used to be.
SeanM, on the Global news hour last night,Reporter Keith Baldrey repeatedly called him “Jug-Meat Singh”. I don’t know if this was an error or if Baldrey was just channeling his dislike of the NDP,what with his wife having worked in Christie Clark’s office for several years.
Maybe Jug-meat is how it’s supposed to be pronounced.I’m not a Sikh so can’t really say.
If we’re lucky, Jug-meat will lose and Charlie Angus can take over as leader until after the election.Angus could probably win a couple of dozen seats and split the Left a lot more than Jug-meat.
I’d love to see the PPC candidate win in Burnaby just to throw all Ottawa into a tizzy, but that’s about as likely as the Canucks winning the Stanley Cup this year.
Isn’t Brampton Ontario’s Surrey? Browntown?
I lived in that riding for 23 years before retiring out of the city. It has always been a three-way fight there and somehow the Libs and CPC always nominate such awful candidates that the NDP continue to win. Peter Julian, the former M.P. who retired from politics, was one of the better NDP caucus members and didn’t have to fight too hard to retain his seat. I saw him in the background of news coverage of Jaghmeet Singh’s riding tour, which tells me that the NDP will be going to the wall to get their vote out. I hope Singh wins actually, he should be in the House and there’s nothing to be gained by conservative political interests in having a leadership change there. With the NDP, you would think it would hardly matter who led them as their policy set won’t change much and neither will their actual chances to govern. Even Mulcair going full out couldn’t hold a lead, they won’t have that chance again for a while.
Despite having some of the lamest Conservative candidates imaginable, this riding rarely fell below 30% CPC support and that’s in the face of an anomalously large Libertarian vote that exists all over Burnaby and Coquitlam for some reason (they poll 2-3 per cent in all those ridings, way more than anywhere else in Canada, never learned the reason for this, possibly some famous libertarian lived in Burnaby back in the 1970s or some such thing).
Sort of wishing I had stayed on long enough to run as the PPC candidate in that riding, not sure if they found themselves a decent one or not, the House could use a member who actually knew something about weather and climate. I would be using the f-word a lot, not that one, but fraud. I think if somebody would just sit in a corner yelling “fraud” every five seconds, it would be the only sensible response to the government’s climate policy.
Is Jagmeet deadmeat?
I thought the Green Party sitting this one out might help Mr. Singh, but I just looked it up and the Greens only got 2.8% of the vote in Burnaby South in 2015. So not a big factor there. Last go-round it was NDP 35%, Libs 34, Cons 27.
The PPC looks like they will poll north of 10% in Burnaby South and under 2% in York Simcoe – let that sink in.
Kooks and wingnuts are seeing Bernier as their great hope. Conservatives see right through him. This is incredibly good news for October.
All it means is that the East is completely full of red tories.
I’ll never vote for Andrew Scheer or your red tory party.
I’m with you Mole. NO to Scheerdeau!!! I’ll be voting PPC when the time comes.
Be very careful what you wish for.
You may as well vote for Trudeau.
Splitting the vote on the right will return TURDEAU for another term.
10% voted PPC in Burnaby. As CPC votes, the candidate would be a strong second.
Ok, Scheer ain’t the ideal righty leader. Stop the Puritanism, the real goal and need is to turf TruDOPE immediately, he is far more damaging than whatever perceptions of Scheer are out there.
We must be rid of Turdeau first. Max will never be PM, but Trudy might as well send his fellow Quebecer a truckload of wine as a gift for keeping him in power.
Think, Fellow Quebecer
If it wasn’t for People’s Party I will vote Christian Heritage Party.
I’m not voting Conservative and I’m sick and tired of people bashing the hammer over my head to say otherwise.
Fix your damn party and make it something worth my vote.
LOL gotta love those salt CPC partisans telling me what I have to do becuz TEAM. Just makes not voting for them all the sweeter.
Amazingly low turnout – less than 20% in all three ridings, Burnaby in particular has a populous that just is not engaged in canadian politics.
What a disappointing night.NDP win Burnaby, LPC wins Outremont, CPC wins York-Simcoe.
Not a surprise in the bunch. Now let’s how how Jug-Meat performs in theHouse.
It’s not all bad. Lefty voters that saw Angry Tom as too centrist last time, voting for Trudy, will return to vote ENDP, with Jaggy going full-on leftard to outflank Trudy, much as we are seeing in the DeMarxist race. Things are just getting interesting.
Beer and popcorn time.
PPC got almost 11% in Burnaby but did very poorly elsewhere. Combining PPC and Cons, they were still 6% behind the NDP but well ahead of the LPC. The PPC could be real spoilers out west come November.
“The PPC could be real spoilers out west come November.”
Scheer brought it on himself. All he had to do was not split the party. He just couldn’t resist. Scheer is Joe Clark without the personality.
Is the Puritanism worth another four plus years of a TruDOPE destruction?
That will be the gift of Max to TruDOPE! Fellow Quebecers looking after each other
Yes. That’s the long game. We can take some more Trudeau. Can’t take not having a serious albeit imperfect alternative.
