The Oscars. A celebration of movies that nobody went to see, and won’t go to see. But hey, they are about social justice issues and Trump or something so that is all that matters.
Hollywood is the cultural arm of the institutional left and no level of depravity, propaganda, hate, poor taste, humorless “comedy”, or feigned adoration for retrograde music could disappoint or surprise me or give me the slightest interest in their endeavors. A good movie would be the rare exception to the flow of cultural detritus flowing from Hollywood.

I urge Nicolás Maduro to allow humanitarian aid inside Venezuela’s borders peacefully. People are in need of life-saving medicines, children are subsisting on one meal a day, and a peaceful delivery of food and supplies is to the benefit of all.

Every Hollywooden so-called Bio-Pic depicting conservatives portray them as; mentally unstable, unhinged, angry, abusive, low IQ, monsters who allllllmost destroyed the planet. Sadly, this is where our general population is learning their “history”. I found the Churchill crap film to be another example … portraying Churchill as an utter pig and chauvinist who was artificially, and accidentally thrust into leadership. As a looney fat man who took delight in exposing his genitals to unwelcoming subordinate females. And don’t get me started on Hollywood’s depiction of Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, Nancy Reagan … on and on.

The Hallmark Channel’s offerings present values that are completely in line with Christian middle America, and they beat the CW in the ratings in every single time slot. If anything, I would think we could use more Hallmark Channel, not less.
My wife would agree. She watches it when she is not watching HGTV, flips back and forth. Meanwhile, I’m watching FoxNews or one the sports channels.
Haven’t sullied our family room with the Oscars for many years, maybe a decade or more. since they produce not much beside leftist filth. Any decent movies are rarely nominated for any Oscars.
Even if Hollywood was making movies worth watching, a show full of them telling themselves that they are wonderful and the movies they make are wonderful wasn’t ever worth watching. Unless maybe you had the telly on mute.

As a ham, the only Oscars I pay attention to are amateur radio satellites. The first one in orbit was OSCAR 1 (Orbiting Satellite Carrying Amateur Radio). Since the launch of the first one on December 12, 1961, there have been 100 officially given the OSCAR designation.
As for that other Oscar, who cares?
