Oregon: Eight Democrats at the request of the Humane Society of the United States have introduced a bill that could ban all contest related to the take of fish and wildlife. This could include fishing derbies, big buck or bull contests, coyotes derbies, etc.

Of course, since this was proposed by the Democrats, these hunts will be abolished but then probably replaced with ones targeting that most elusive of animals, the American Republican. I suspect a Republican cull is the newest election strategy of the Dems.
There are lots of Republicans, it’s the conservatives that are elusive (small “c” , LARGE “C” or Paleo-).

Really though. Is it that big of a deal? I’m a fiscal conservative and I for one don’t see the point. Hunt and fish because you want to eat it but to have a small navy on a lake with fishing poles in the name of getting a trophy is just plain gauche. I assume the lakes are stocked by the organizers?
While fishing Derby’s are nothing I would care to partake (I prefer the solitude of small stream) … I don’t see the harm. In fact, I would argue that the vast majority of hunters and fisherman are far better conservationists than the whole lot of urban-bound PETA members. I suppose I should ask you; how many fishing boats should be allowed on a given lake at a given time? Do you have a number in mind, that tips your sensibilities from recreational boating into naval operations? Kinda reminds me of questioning how much $$$ is too much $$$ for a single person to earn.
PETA’s motto of: A fish=a wolf=a cricket=a little girl … has become mainstream. And is poised to become the Law of the Land. Yes, EVIL has taken up residency in the halls of our government. Sorry, animal lovers … your insane obsession for pets and wild animals over the well-being of mankind is just SICK IN THE HEAD.

Funny ain’t it.For years local governments used to promote these derbies.
For they give great public value and hence protection to the wild spaces and the animals living in them.
Communities would protect and cherish these recreations and recreational common areas.
But Democrats (Our progressive comrades) and PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals) want you confined to the malls.
People who know how to hunt and fish, scare the hell out of these control freaks.
My patience and tolerance are limited,every day I find these scolds,nags and busybodies nudge me ever closer to treating them in kind.
