      1. Then look them up yourself. Takes mere minutes to do the math. Also interesting: Federal deficit per capita is 4x bigger down south.

        1. Allan wrote “Federal deficit per capita is 4x bigger down south.”

I’m waiting for Turdeau to use this as an excuse to run higher deficits. Then Turdeau will use the money to buy an executive 787 to transport him long distances on vacation (oops er business trips). The rationale will be longer range, fewer stops, better security.

        2. Verify that the increase in government is not part of that number. Ontario is the highest indebted non sovereign entity in the world, how do you square that with your numbers.

        1. Allan S is quoting nominal GDP. It’s better to quote actual GDP (taking into account inflation etc) which is closer to 2%. Canada has not had a quarter of actual GDP over 4% in more than 20 years.

          https://tradingeconomics.com/canada/gdp-growth-annual

Other interesting tidbits – Canada’s economy is now greater than 70% “service”.

          1. Maybe Allan S is doing Liberal math, it is different. “Jethro Bodine” of “The Clampet’s” could do better ciphering than that.

          2. Actually I’m quoting neither, simply dividing the size of chained 2012 GDP for now and two years ago. BTW the trading economics site has incorrect numbers on it. Don’t bother quoting it.

          3. “Canada’s economy is now greater than 70% “service”.”

            Good. That’s the future.

          4. I am very curious how uNPC thinks we are supposed to do anything other than run a massive trade deficit with a service based economy. I don’t imagine Skip The Dishes will be making many deliveries to China.

Eventually service based economies collapse due to the capital drain caused by the requirement to import any goods, even those goods that require service, and especially goods that are required to provide those services.

Now what are we to do with all those potential employees who do not have the traits nor disposition to be service sector workers. Seems like a waste of human potential to aim for a service economy and a recipe for mass poverty and misery. Of course I have come to accept that the leftist trolls are not bothered by such things.

      2. Me neither Nancy. The links that show otherwise are copied below. An intriguing question is Norman Spector’s question, Where is Freeland?:

        https://twitter.com/nspector4/status/1081972547543916544

My guess is that she went home to New York to be with her husband, Graham Bowley, and celebrate Ukrainian Christmas. Until recently Graham Bowley had a Wikipedia page that showed his spouse was Freeland and they resided in NYC. She didn’t come home for you!

    1. And Canadian growth has ALL been in “green” jobs too!! *cough* *cough* *gag* *hurl*

In a related fable … Jerry Brown is leaving the State of CA with a massive budget surplus!! Woo hoo!! Universal health care for ALL 11 Million illegals in CA!! Hint: A leftist State Treasurer who knows how to hide the deficit. All LIES.

      1. And Canadian growth has ALL been in “green” jobs too!! *cough* *cough* *gag* *hurl*

Prinz Dummkopf will, no doubt, say something like: “Thee? Thothe jobth did need that nathty oil.” Growing the economy from the you-know-what out…..

    2. Here’s another stat. With only 50% employment participation of 37+ million people we have less than 6% unemployed. Sure.

      1. That’s because anyone who was “self-employed” and no longer can get work isn’t counted. Can’t get EI either, but that’s another story.

    3. The dow jones has increased from 17888 to 23433 (31%) from the night president Trump was elected to the present. The canadian market (tsx) has decreased from 14509 to 14426 (-.5%) in the same time frame.

    4. Show us the Canadian inflation figures. The ones that never include real cost to households. The ones that ‘fit’ within the guidelines….

  1. Did you know that STUPID PEOPLE can start wildfires … ?
    https://youtu.be/PEm5OQ8OSRQ
I am now waiting for the Smoky Bear PSA aimed at PG&E … Gov. Brown, every CA Govt. Eco-agency, every eco-NGO … who have cheered and enabled the massive wildfires due to their refusal to actively manage our forests

    1. Beautiful!
Watch out when he performs with Luka Šulić, the other half of 2 cellos because it could get zany.

  2. Groper burned jet fuel back to Ottawa. He is in private meetings today, which I assume is centered around what tropical islands he will be visiting this winter. And the Sunday Toronto Star reminds us that the greatest generation were actually racist bastards. The Star shows us ads from the 1930s and 1940s that demonstrate discrimination. No word on when the Star will demand that war memorials must be torn down across the country.

  3. I wonder if there is any more childish way to comment on a blog,, than to make some bald and unsupported assertion, then when challenged, to flounce off with a “look them up yourself!” hurled over one’s shoulder. Happy new year all.

    1. One issue I have with Canada’s GDP is it’s expressed in CAD. If you express it in USD we have been in a recession for 3 years (due to the devaluation of our dollar). Also, if you look at Canada’s GDP growth since the 1960s it is on a downward trend very similar to the drop in Arctic Ice Extent. Maybe there is a correlation there.

    2. To Eric@7:30am
And a terrific 2019 to you.
I agree with your comment wholeheartedly!
(zit is a .gov troll, methinks, …..shhh!)

    3. Eric
To which blog comments are you referring? Perhaps you could provide an example so that we can see your point?

      1. Joe, if I may reply…
Eric was referring to the comment at 1:54 am…
See the first 3 at the top at 12:18am & 12:28 am and 1:54 am.

        1. Thanks, Nancy.

I note that you, and many other SDA commenters, are very good at identifying the comment to which you are replying.

Eric at 0730 could have been more helpful.

          1. You’re welcome, Joe
I always enjoy reading your insightful and interesting comments.

(Eric’s style is impressive. In his 7:30 am comment he knitted the words that I thought about saying but didn’t)

    4. My “bald” assertion is supported by the facts. Both countries actual (not nominal) growth is just under 5% since Trump took over. Job growth is comparable too. The two countries economies have performed nearly identical.

It only takes seconds to verify what I said. The difference is Trudeau doesnt talk about it while Trump spikes the football every chance he gets.

  4. What a Moslem Diversity Massacre looks like. Erdogan President of Turkey’s boys running wild. Turkey is part of NATO. Tell us again why NATO is so important to Canadians. Lining up people against the wall and executing them. Allah Akbar. Canada needs more Allah Akbar’s, under Trudeau’s forced Migration plan you will get more Diversity. https://twitter.com/David_shapira

  5. Canada’s first female prime minister, Kim Campbell, referred to President Donald Trump with an expletive Saturday over his commitment to building a border wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

Campbell, who served as prime minister from June to November 1993, described President Trump a “motherf**ker!” in a tweet sent before 10:00 a.m. this morning — using the same profanity-laced term as freshman congresswoman Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) in her pledge this week to impeach the president.

    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2019/01/05/ex-canadian-prime-minister-joins-rashida-tlaib-calling-trump-motherfker/

Good thing I didn’t vote for that thing.

    1. How embarrassing. I am guessing she now has even fewer fans than before. Another irrelevant ex-politician.

      1. Considering how much Trump is disliked in this country (I have yet to meet anyone who likes him), she might have more.

        1. Yes, well, Canadians have been well coached by the Mass Media Propagandists 24/7. TDS on full display throughout the media partisans. No need to think for one’s self is there?
The sheep are being conditioned for a future of hard socialism, either Venezuelan or Chiner style. We have too many fools, especially amongst the young, who easily give up their freedoms, for convenience, and ‘no-conflict’.

          1. I noticed that earlier today while I was waiting in an airport departure lounge. The TV news feed was CBC Numbskull Network (what else?) and I happened to see Windbag Mesley’s show The Weakly. From what I saw, it was non-stop Trump-bashing. I’m sure the only thing he wasn’t accused of was being the anti-Christ but I’m sure that’ll be saved for next week’s show.

      2. Mulroney’s bitch was probably even worse as PM than the current incumbent if she’d had as much time in Office as Justin. Never forget it was Kim Campbell that started the whole Gun Control movement, as she just couldn’t “let a crisis go to waste”..
I always found it rather odd that Chretien appointed Campbell Consulate to California right after she led the PC’s to the worst Federal election defeat in Canadian history.

To his credit,in Newman’s book, Mulroney bitterly says that Kim Campbell completely hornswoggled him, he had no idea she was the phony she really is.

“Canada’s Madonna”. As the msm used to call her. “HURL”!

        1. Following the ’93 election Dim was reduced to poverty. She had no assets or job. A concerted lobby effort was started by conservatives to allow her a soft landing. She was a former Canadian Prime minister afterall…..

I wouldn’t doubt that Mulrooney himself was involved. Chretien was their target. Dim needed a job and da liddle thief came through with the California sinecure.

That Don Morris is how Dim got to LA.

        2. I dont believe a goddamn thing mulruin says.
too many lies to properly differentiate anything.
yo, bri, didja ever pay the income taxes on that brown envelope cash?

    3. In the ’93 election Dim Cambell had a Russian bf. He was some 6’19 something with a schlong and IQ to match. On the campaign trail in the bus Dim would be overcome with fits of passion and retire with Igor to the boudoir at the back of the bus for a game of chesterfield rugger. The ‘journos’ who travelled with Dim were left to their own devices.

How do I know this? I don’t know first hand but a friend who was an MP at the time (he lost – but then again so did Dim) told me.

      1. @10:10 am
        abtrapper:
        …why…ahhh…!
You, ab, always seem to have the juiciest political gossip around. I believe you. She took off to L.A. with a young pianist and I read they make beautiful music together. And I thought my gossip about the blond literally bumping into P.E.T. was juicy! Remember that?

So, back to Campbell, I assume it wasn’t a typo on your part when you wrote that the Russian bf was 6′ 19. So, he was 7′ tall plus 7″ ……is THAT what you meant? Nevermind, don’t answer!

        Oh my!

    4. “Kim Campbell, referred to President Donald Trump with an expletive”
Thrice married Kim 2 seats Campbell was such an abject failure at politics she never even got to the point where Canadians gave a damn one way or another about her so that part hasn’t changed.

  6. http://www.msn.com/en-ca/news/world/xi-jinping-tells-chinese-army-to-be-ready-for-battle/ar-BBRROlM?li=AAggNb9&ocid=ASUDHP
At some point in time Xi might just order the invasion of Taiwan for several reasons. To see what the US will do. To see what the rest of the world will do. To see how they stack up against their “countrymen’s” missile system. Maybe it will just be that, a big missile fight.
Anyone who doesn’t think the Chicoms don’t want to rule the world has their head in their backhole.

  7. Somewhere I saw a picture of Trudeau with a helicopter beanie imposed on his head, so fitting , so appropriate, fits his level of maturity.
Sure would create more drama to have Trudeau arriving on Parliament Hill,or wherever, and facing reporters eager to interview him as he steps down from the craft.

What will it be called, could we have a contest maybe?

          1. He’s on a roll for sure and that’s the kind of humour we’re going to need if there are enough people out of the realm of reality to vote that gang back in.

  8. Quebec woman and her traveling companion disappear while traveling in Burkina Faso.

    https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/montreal/edith-blais-missing-burkina-faso-sherbrooke-quebec-1.4967254

“Canada has an active travel advisory for Burkina Faso, recommending all non-essential travel be avoided due to the threat of terrorism. Canada also advises to avoid all travel in the area bordering Togo due to the risk of banditry and kidnapping.”

“Bergeron described her daughter as a visual artist whose “lifelong dream” was travelling to Africa. She said Blais lives a bohemian life, travelling often since she was 18 years old.”

  9. As the murders by muslims and stabbings grow exponentially in the UK the police continue to downplay the muslims involvement in these horrendous crimes. A father was just stabbed to death by a muslim on a train in front of his 14 year old son. I firmly believe that until the police back away from protecting parliament, in some cases like Pc Keith Palmer who was unarmed when he was killed protecting the politicians, this butchery will only continue.

    https://gellerreport.com/2019/01/another-stabbing-triple-knifing-london.html/

Let me ask our SDA posters would you give your life to defend these politicians who took away your weapons and left you to be a sacrificial lamb to their policies of appeasement to muslims. Maybe their attitudes would change if muslims attacked them in their parliament.

    1. Exponentially? Do you even know what that word means? I don’t think you do. Nor does Geller know…well anything really.

      1. Very few people use exponentially correctly. Many apply ‘exponentially’ to any seemingly non-linear pattern.

  10. “A new academic study finds men, on average, are more disadvantaged than women in 91 countries compared with a relative disadvantage for women in 43 countries.

“Researchers from the University of Missouri and University of Essex in the United Kingdom say their Basic Index of Gender Inequality ‘presents a simplified but more accurate picture of peoples’ well-being than previous calculations.’ The metric focuses on three factors: educational opportunities, healthy life expectancy and overall life satisfaction. The researchers calculated what they call ‘BIGI scores’ for 134 nations, representing 6.8 billion people.”

The story didn’t list the specific countries. But I’m betting that Canada is one of the 91 where men are more disadvantaged than women. (The U.S. as well?) Maybe somebody should send this to the Sock Boy. (Think he’d care?)

  11. Trump’s Terrible Record on Property Rights

    https://reason.com/volokh/2019/01/05/trumps-terrible-record-on-property-right#comment

“Nationalists, like the European far-right movements whom Trump and his most committed supporters admire, generally favor extensive government intervention and control of the economy so long as the perceived beneficiaries are members of the “right” racial and ethnic groups. Thus, they are happy to downgrade property rights (and economic liberties) that might be obstacles to government control of the economy in the interests of “the nation.”

Nationalists also are traditionally hostile to procedural protections for individual rights that might inhibit law enforcement or government acquisition of property supposedly needed for “national” purposes. The administration’s policies on asset forfeiture and the wall obviously fit that template. “

    1. As usual, Republicans are left grasping a dying past. I’ll get excited when some Atheists rise to power! Ones who aren’t leftist.

      1. Lot’s of atheists have risen to power. Castro, Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Pol Pot, to name a few. The result is always the same.

  12. Does anyone know where to find the appearance of Jordan Peterson on Life,Liberty and Levin. Ive looked on Fox and Levin website but see nothing.

    Thx
