        1. As a UNB prof at Fredericton, I would, in the summertime, take a stroll up through St. Tomas University — a small liberal-arts university adjoining the much-larger UNB campus. St. Thomas is known for its leftist views, and the undergrads at St. Thomas graduate well indoctrinated. Passing by these undergrads on a summer afternoon, lazing around the quadrangle chatting with each other, I would silently think of them as the “eloi” — lazy, dumb and useless. I imagine many humanities and social science majors on campus thtoughout North Amrtica are eloi.

        Soon after my father died, I started dealing with his bank branch as part of settling the estate. I made the acquaintance of one of the tellers and I found out that she was like those two women in that she liked to travel and go to exotic places.

        I’ve often wondered if she realized that many of those “exotic” places have residents who may wish her harm simply by being who she is. I got the impression that she really didn’t quite understand that concept.

  3. Morocco hasn’t executed anyone since a 10 year moratorium on capital punishment in 1993.

    They might revisit that, given the 10 years has long since passed and to send a message to other jihadi-rapist murderers.

    Then they could get the punishment they deserve for the awful things they did to those girls before killing them, as if mortal sin is their religious duty. Maybe for the Church of MS13. What they deserve is a slow tortuous reciprocal death, with certain offending parts removed first in the most egregious manner possible. No, they’ll probably just chop off their heads or hang them.

        Sounds nasty and brutal doesn’t it? Especially without context. The context was, the “they” to which the quote refers would hate anyway and, believing they couldn’t be converted, the hated would need to make them too fearful of the hated to act on their desire to harm the one(s) they hate.

        If you make a display of being easy prey, the predator will choose you. You may not be to blame for the nature of the predator, but if you don’t make any effort at deterrence and/or defense, perhaps you are somewhat responsible for becoming their choice victim. And if you don’t teach your children this, you are part of the reason your children make these mistakes.

        History has taught us everything we need to know about the range of human behaviour and will continue to repeat the same lessons. Not everyone learns, and refusing to learn doesn’t cause reality give up trying to teach.

    Clearly, the Swedish state broadcaster is near the moral equivalent of the Islamic retrogrades who perpetrated the killings. If that crime had been committed in Sweden one wonders if the sentence given to the perps would be any more than that handed out for breaking the jihadi-enabling law preventing exposure of the gruesome savagery inherent in a significant number of the followers of Islam. Such exposure might cast doubts about the wisdom or intent of the political class and their ilk regarding immigration policies. If this had happened to Canadians, the Spawn and his personal state broadcaster would be no different.

  10. In the words of Patrice O’Neal….”the big shut up is coming.” He used it in reference to race, but I think it will apply relative to Islam. Europe has a history of apathy until the 11th hour, then it gets massively bloody. Historical reference rarely shows a long term gradual change when Europe is concerned. The way the state run media (obviously with encouragement from the state) warned people about, actually, sharing this travesty in a public forum sort of supports the above. They know that they can’t afford a valid catalyst because it will be like a large snowball rolling down hill.

    I’m still of the opinion that Europe isn’t totally lost. However, when the pendulum swings back the other direction you’ll want to spend your vacation on another continent.

      There’ll be arguments made that we can seal it off, don’t let it come here, but as it was with the Nazis and the Communists, if you let them build up material wealth and indoctrinate generations with a supremacist ideology that includes exporting their beliefs to the rest of the world, you’ll always be trying to deal with the threat from there and you’ll always have some of your own trying to deny the reality, saying it’s not that bad and we don’t have to work so hard to defend and deterr, we should try some “go along to get along,” and when that proves to have been a mistake, you’ll wish you had decided to “go over to get it over with.” I don’t say this because I like it, (and I’m too old to get sent,) but because I see it as the lesser of two bad options.

No. Ruthless efficiency in killing them, identify the dead if possible, inform the families if possible that their sons are dead, that remains are disposed of in sanitary fashion without the rites of their religion, no information ever to be released on gravesites, and we intend this for every one they ever send against us.       1. Latitude, the state-owned media also tetmed the beheading of one of tbe girls was a “neck injury”. Even the establishment media jumped on the propaganda network for that remark.

        On a related matter, CBC News only ran one story on the twin murders, back in mid-December. The corrupt Globe and Mail has completely censored the story. So much for our national media.

I was trying to watch the linked Paul Watson video on youtube but I had to stop for a laugh break when he got to the example of the woman who went to Haiti to “…raise awareness about violence against women …” Don’t tell me, I’ll resume viewing when I have regained my composure, but I’m sure Watson is going to tell us something happened that includes violence against a woman and … it’s her.

    I would just like to take this opportunity to say to Kate that I very much appreciate her not loading up this site with all these friggin ads like so many (most!) other blogs seem to do nowadays. It’s maddening. The page starts loading, and then poof! – the page reloads. It’s why I spend so much time on Twitter nowadays.Twitter doesn’t have that problem.

      And the horrific story of these two girls is one I haven’t read as looking at their faces and knowing how innocent and naive (nay, stupid) they were is too sickening. There are too many of them out there – not the killers, the naive westerners who think we are all alike. AND THE DAMN politicians who won’t allow them to be taught!

          Our contemporary society has decided that “evil” is all in the eye of the beholder, therefore “evil” no longer exists. That’s EXACTLY what these girls believed. Because that is what our “highly evolved”, “post-Christian” culture taught them.

      2. During my time as a post-secondary educator, I attempted to tell my students, many of them who were kids fresh out of high school, that the real world won’t necessary welcome them nor acknowledge them as the wizards and geniuses they believed themselves to be.

        I did that because I was young and stupid like they were at one time and I hoped to instill in them a sense of caution and to be careful once they graduated.

        Instead, they scoffed that none of what I described would ever happen to them because they were such wizards and geniuses and that the real world would welcome them with open arms. Worse was that my departmental superiors often took me to task for telling them that, claiming that I was being “negative” and that, by doing so, I was discouraging them from learning the course material.

        I crossed paths with some of my former students over the years and some, I believe, had come to realize that what I told them wasn’t malarkey. Of course, none of them ever thanked me for telling them that.

        Like the punchline of that old Fram oil filter TV ad said, “You can pay me now or you can pay me later.”

  17. Should I be concerned that the first baby born in Toronto in 2019 is a muslim….naw. Many years ago an imam was asked whether Canada would be at war with islam, his response was “No, we will take you over by demographics.”
