  1. I understand that a Goldendoodle or Labradoodle are crosses between 2 dog breeds, and not recognized as individual breeds, and therefore mutts. But, I don’t get this joke.

      1. I’m 45 and moved countries several time growing up (had to leave dogs behind when changing countries.) and have had 5 dogs – Pure breed Cocker, Pure breed Dachsund, mutt, Pure breed cocker, mutt. The mutts where always the best. The pure breeds tended to have various health issues. The last cocker spaniel had thyroid problems his whole life and spent lots of time at the vet (we loved him anyway and his death about 2 years ago was devastating.)

  2. The vast majority of my filthy rich clients have _ _ _ _ _ _ _ doodles … simply because they don’t shed on the furniture, but aren’t REAL poodles. I have to feign my joy and wonder as they introduce me to their “designer doggies”. I just see Frankendoggies … one step away from Zombiedoggies.

    1. My dogs shed only during the season. The first season is January to June, the second is July to December. easy to get use to.

  3. Sure ‘doodles are mutts, but we are grandparents of three of these mutts and they are adorable.
There are lots of great purbreds and lots of great mutts. This weekend we are mutt-sitting “Jynx” for friends for 2½ days and am pleased to do so. She’s well behaved. Listens. Heals well. And she’ll get me out walking. All good.

  4. Weren’t all the currently-recognized breeds the result of selectively breeding other types of dogs with the desired traits, and then breeding the pups from the litters, which expressed those desired traits?
