  1. It’s worse than that.

White Rock beach is the worst beach in the Vancouver area, being mostly rocks and with only a few limited access points to get down to it (yes, down…the surrounding ground is all elevated). Problem is, ALL that land you are looking at is (or was) railroad property. The railroad did NOT have to grant access to the beach. They did NOT have to agree to slow way, way down to accommodate people crossing their tracks to get to the beach….they did all that as a PR move. They could legally close those crossings tomorrow and blast through there *on their own property* as fast as they want.

Ignorant people acting like this could theoretically result in the beach being permanently closed and White rock becoming a ghost town.

  2. Let’s boot the Indians, Somalis, Jamaicans and Muslims out of the country.

Then perhaps all Liberal, NDP and Green Party voters!

    All in favour?

  3. Old White Rock was a fabulous place.
In the 70s, it was quiet, the beach was great when the tide was out, mostly sandy.
It used to be just small homes, not the overpopulated condo/apartment hell of the extension of South Surrey as it is now. There used to be forested separation. That was yesteryear.
The Fish n Chips shacks were plentiful and yummy.
    Now its gourmet hell.
    Just another suburbia to avoid.

    1. The Fish n Chips shacks were plentiful and yummy.

Last time we were there (prolly 7 or 8 years ago) Moby Dick’s was still damn good.

      1. Might be the only one left. In the 70s and 80s, there were a dozen mom and pop fishnchips places.

  4. I guess the old saying, “White Rock is never having to say You’re Surrey”, no longer applies.

    1. Hmmm, good idea, but how do we get Rosie, Whoopi or Hillary on the train tracks for this to work??
