Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Quebec will lecture at every opportunity. It’s never the other way around either. Quebec is special and want special treatment regarding their language. They have no shame in being perpetually on the dole on equalization in spite of being rich in resources either.
Ontario can’t afford to build the French University promised by Wynne at this point, she left the province with the biggest debt in the free world.
The media party will scream along with them and make it a big story. They ignore the French are well served in Ontario, well beyond how the English fare in Quebec.
Ford and Scheer need to tell/yell the facts, there are more urgent matters to contend with that affect the common good because this will be hammered on through the next election.
Never offend the French in Quebec, ignore the fact they dump raw excrement into the St Lawrence and talk about putting the pipeline through a danger to the environment.
How and why do intelligent people put up with this shit and vote for it?
The intelligent don’t put up with it or vote for it, its just that they’re so few and far between the raging half-wits.
“Bilingulism” the racket that favours french talkers for no other reason other than Pierre Trudeau said so, as it was designed. Ontario should simply do as Quebec does, in fact all Provinces should do as Quebec does and bring in their own Bill 101, declare all Provinces as unilingual English the way Queerbec declares its “official Language” as french…. If Bill 101 and subsequent french language Bills that ignore Daddys Charter are good enough for Quebec then a reverse Bill 101 and a over riding of Pierre’s Charter dictates should be good enough for every other Province, right? Seeing as the Unifor Media and the Media Guild members and the LIberal Party all agree with Bill 101 than it stands to reason that they would agree that all Provinces should be afforded the same benefits and luxury as Queerbec. Just for fun the Provinces should say they’ll “separate” if they don’t get their way, for fun… works for Queerbek.
Well both Quebec & Ontario better learn how to compete in an Open Market. The New Trade deal with Mexico will fuel all kinds of Cross-Border agreements….Mexico Boom…
What? Visiting Ontario? Since when is a phone call not enough?Francois Legault…my my my, they should translate his name literally when he travels to the English-speaking world…namely “Frank Gall.” He has some frank gall all right … his audacity, temerity, effrontery, imprudence, nerve, shamelessness, cockiness, impertinence, cheek, and insolence… he should stick to his own knitting!
“tah-bahr-nack”
Click bait…
The media lying left trying to get us all to say Squirrel…
The French haters come out….one thing though I can guarantee that Quebec will try to protect their Canadian French identity better than English Canada and that will benefit all Canadians against the illegal aliens and their liberal lap dogs…
Too true. We’re almost at the point where we can wonder what “English Canada” really means to anyone. Other than we few on SDA.
Tolerating French anything, was the first major mistake in Canadian history.
“The French haters come out…”
Yes, unfortunately they do.
The french talkers who enjoy an undeserved “special status” in this social engineering racket will whine and cry about “fwench haters”, you know the same “fwench haters” who are forced to pay for the fwench talkers undeserved and inexplicable “specialness”… well over a trillion taxpayer dollars and counting wasted on an inherently bigoted tribal language racket that only serves to divide and rewards only a special few, nice racket you french talkers got there… too bad you have to force others not of your tribe to pay for your “sepecialness”… Maybe you “special” fwench talkers can make disagreeing with Pierres imposed fwench language rackets a “hate crime”… that should stop those nasty taxpayers who are forced to pay for the fwench language racket from complaining about institutional bigotry.
As “Oui ou Non” stated, “The French haters come out…”
Your comments serve to provide a neat little QED for that.
Disagreeing with the imposition of Government sanctioned special status for french talkers, euphemistically referred to as ‘bilingualism” is not a decision born out of “hate” as you ridiculously accuse. I do hate Pierre Trudeau and his dictatorial madness, thats true. I don’t agree with 99% of what the LIberal Party has inflicted upon the first Post National State. Trudeaus imposition of the OLA was not a good thing for Canada, it is inherently bigoted, corrupt and divisive, its a racket that serves the very few unwillingly paid for by the many… the ultimate parasitic contrivance. Because I don’t like Government imposed social engineering schemes that promote bigotry and phony tribal elitism does not mean I “hate” french talkers, far from it, in fact I couldn’t care less about french talkers, just as they couldn’t care less about me. Government imposed “Bilingualism” is a racket plain and simple and yes, i don’t like it. I think you have no real argument to make in defending forced french (“bilingualism”) so instead resort to saying really dumb things like disagreeing with imposed “bilingualism” is, “hate”, a lazy, and flaccid reflexive response at best. At least you and I agree that “bilingualism” has nothing to do with English, so there’s that. Disagreeing with Government imposed inherently bigoted social engineering schemes is not a signal of “hate”, unless of course that Government imposed social engineering scheme is inherently, “hateful” in its nature and context. As for french talkers, meh, say la vee… which when translated means, who gives a shit.
“Disagreeing with the imposition of Government sanctioned special status for french talkers, euphemistically referred to as ‘bilingualism'”
There is no “special status” for French speakers in Canada; they have the same status as English speakers.
“There is no “special status” for French speakers in Canada; they have the same status as English speakers.” LOL… don’t be ridiculous… of course “bilingualism” (forced french) imposes a special status on the minority french talker… but you already knew that, you simply choose to be obtuse. If you’re going to be involved in a debate regarding Trudeaus forced french act at least try and be honest about its real objective’s and outcomes. No special status for french talkers… utterly ridiculous.
The Quebecois have not preserved their culture. They’ve preserved their place in the artificial oligarchy created by Justin’s dad.
The Quiet Revolution was a nail in the coffin of Quebec. Now, it’s time to put that corpse in the ground.
The rest of Canada can follow it.
Queerbec sure won;t protect its 300 year history as an English speaking British Crown Colony thats for sure… May as well protect its incestuous ‘franconess”… as Pierre the Turdo said about the 4 million English Quebecers, “they’ll have to find someone else to fight their battles”, what a guy. Hey, at least crazy Peeair didn’t hide where his loyalties lied.
Quebec has some serious structural problems ahead of it, the least of which is Ontario.
#1 – the fertility rate in Quebec was 1.54 in 2017, down from 1.59 the previous year and is considered to be in a death spiral as Quebecois women prefer careers over families. A rate of 2.1 is needed just to keep the population stable.
#2 – roughly one third of all the children born in Quebec in 2017 were born into families where one parent was born outside of Canada (i.e. immigrants).
If you add #1 and #2 you will understand how few natural Quebecois women are having children. This is the single greatest problem in preserving Quebec culture.
#3 – French is one of the fastest growing languages on Earth and is expected to surpass English as a spoken language by 2050. While this would seem to be a good thing for Quebec (and I expect very few people would even believe the statistic) the overwhelming increase comes from South Saharan Africa. These are the most likely people to immigrate to Quebec and they will be taking their culture with them.
#4 – The population of Quebec as a percentage of Canada has dropped substantially over the decades where today Quebec represents about 23% of the country and this percentage drops virtually every year. To make matters worse the Atlantic provinces have seen very low population increases. If Quebec separated it would have virtually all of the growth in Canadian population (and economics) to the west – not much of a strategic advantage.
#5 – Quebec as a province hasn’t really been a great neighbor to the other provinces, especially Alberta. Attempts by Quebec at separation could lead to a serious backlash from the other provinces which might ban together to isolate Quebec even further.
#6 – The United States is the other great neighbor to Quebec and doesn’t share Quebec’s cultural identity within Canada. Quebec has nowhere else to go other than to Ontario when looking for support in bilingualism. So far Quebec has been all stick and no carrot.
I pick curtain #3 Monte !!
2050 would be the perfect moment to KICK THE UNGRATEFUL SOBs out of Canadiastan.
aka “you cant quit, youre fired”
Actually 2018 is.
These are all great comments in this thread …very well thought out–
I can’t see French being the world’s dominant language because the English language has a bigger vocabulary and therefore is the language of business. ( Steve fr Rockwood @ 2:27 pm # 3)
The age of French as a dominant global language really ended with the Battle of Waterloo. It held on in diplomatic circles until the 20th Century but that aspect is over now too.
But let’s get something straight. The global status of a language has nothing to do with its inherent characteristics. What makes English the global language is a simple historical fact: the two back-to-back world political and economic superpowers since Waterloo have both been English-speaking.
“French is one of the fastest growing languages on Earth and is expected to surpass English as a spoken language by 2050.”
Doubtful. But in any event, global language importance isn’t determined simply by speaker demographics (otherwise Chinese would be the global language); it’s determined by what political/economic demographics use it and how widespread that use is.
Sorry to not follow the thread.
But does anyone know what happened to News Hub, it seems to be offline. Censored????
Perhaps if Québec is so concerned, M Legault’s government could generously propose to pay for a private French-language university in Ontario?
Or offer attractive tuition fees to Franco-Ontariens to attend Laval, Sherbrooke, UdeM or one of the UQ locations across that province?
Really like the way you think!
That suggestion appears to be an irrefutable winner.
The Plouffe family bush frog fwenchman is an anachronism from the 50’s. Finished. The modern fwenchman is likely some foreign born immigrant who doesn’t give a damn about quebekie history or culture. That’s the new reality of quebek.
Demands from the fwench traitor should be ignored. Your right in that fwenchie has been a bad neighbour and even worse given his substantive lack of character.
Visited Ottawa a couple of years ago, visited the war museum and while most of the supervisors were so called francos from Queerbek most of the other employees were french talkers from Haiti, who better to look after Canada’s English military history than some disinterested francos from Quebec and some french speaking Haitians. What a preposterous country.
The real story is contained in the last two sentences..
“The truth of the matter is that no services offered to Franco-Ontarians now are being cut, nor should they be.
Yet that doesn’t matter to a federal government or their media allies looking to blast Ford at every chance they get.”
Looking to blast Ford at every chance they get….. or that they manufacture. This University situation has existed for decades of Lib rule, and nobody gave one iota of care or ink to it. Now that Ford is Premier…”It’s an Outrage!!!!”
Remind anyone of the statues that stood during the 8 years of Obama’s reign, and nobody cared? 2 months after Trump was elected….”This is an outrage!!! One that did not matter until a few months ago!!!”
The Media is the enemy, my friends. The French in Quebec happen to be the useful idiots for this outing.
PM Justkbec opened his poutine hole about it. That’s the first indicator the cut to funding is untrue. The 2nd indicator is the putrid pond scum provincial Liberals opening their cancerous gobs. The 3rd is the MSM douchebags who repeatedly omitted or ignored reality and punted Andrew Scheer into the debate as they were bid to do by the shit eating Marxists federal Liberals.
Je ne comprends pas quel est le problème.
