I remember when I was collecting pogey more than 30 years ago. A lot of people back then thought I was a loafer and a freeloader–free government money, you know. I took umbrage at that because I wanted to work more than anything else at the time. Besides, I paid into the system when I was working before I became unemployed. Eventually, I found another job. Over the years, I more than paid back all that dole money through my income taxes.
