    1. Yes, this is a wonderful gesture. I can’t imagine he has a huge bank account also. Well done sir. But this happened Sept 11th. Why two months to report?

  1. The ugliness is what makes this story so sweet to the senses.

If only the Federal Government would take notes and stop their Grinchness’ and total lack of respect and honour towards our Vets.

  2. Talked to a soldier selling poppies yesterday and I asked why I don’t see any soldiers in my travels as I would have loved to treat them to a meal. He said since Cpl Cirillo and WO Vincent were killed they have been ordered not to wear their uniforms in public. I thought that didn’t help Fusilier Rigby in the UK when the 2 muslims butchered him.

  3. I spent most of the 1980s in the British Army. Policy was to not wear uniform out in public on our own if we could avoid doing so because of the terrorist threat (Irish.) It does help when you get out and about, but at the gates of a barracks or base it’s not hard to identify a soldier in civilian clothing, and if you are a terrorist bent on murdering one, you may to let the desire to do so overcome caution about making sure your target is really who you think. Back then PIRA was a pretty careful and professional terrorist organisation. Today’s Islamist jihadis are nowhere near as picky.

  4. Great to hear that offer to pay their dinners.Contrast it with our so-called leaders we just don’t have the money to pay them.Meanwhile buckets of cash for treasonous terrorists and illegal migrants, shameful.

  5. I usually try to be more measured in my posting but I must say that it’s a FUCKING DISGRACE watching Jnr. and that O’Regan twerp strutting around in France today. Using dead Canadian heroes as a photo op while they treat todays troops and veterans like shit.

I just felt sick watching them posturing at Vimy and making sure they knew where the cameras were.

    That’s all.

      1. I concur. As a veteran that was my very thought watching Trudeau posture for the cameras. His words, carefully crafted by a speechwriter, were okay but his tone and delivery drool insincerity. (Look how fine my rhetoric is. I’m so filled with gravitas. Look at me. Look at me. Look at me now.) I guess we should be thankful Mr. Dressup isn’t costumed in a WWI uniform.

  6. Great story.

Great restaurant. Has been an east end Ottawa favorite for decades.

Went to school with Robbie, think his kids run the place now. If you are in Ottawa, worth the visit. Lasagna to die for, pizzas are sublime.

St. Laurent Blvd at the Queensway.

  7. Great story it is so nice to know there are GOOD people out there. THANK YOU ROBBIE for making it a beautiful day for the veterans.

  8. This is why all my lefty friends hate Americans and all my righty friends love our American neighbours.
