Why this blog?
Until this moment I have been forced to listen while media and politicians alike have told me "what Canadians think". In all that time they never once asked.
This is just the voice of an ordinary Canadian yelling back at the radio -
"You don't speak for me."

Interesting. Of course Trudeau was not involved in the decision since it was his day off. I’ll bet Liberals were sweating bullets. I will look forward to seeing details.
So did the CBC give more airtime to a 17 year old Kavanaugh’s groping or to a 28 year old Trudeau groping. Just wondering.
Alleged groping Curt. Don’t let the Media speak for you please.
And of course your point is well taken. Trudeau is protected from ‘liberal privilege’. Kavanaugh is ‘innocent till proven conservative’.
The press gave Blasey-Ford’s lurid fantasies gavel-to-gavel coverage.
I wonder will the Canadian media give such attention to credible accusations of molestation by the prime minister by whichever young man is the first to insist on his day in court.
The one optic the democrats can’t get around….they are attacking a 17 year old kid
“Slandering” not merely “attacking”.
At age 17,Kavanaugh was undoubtedly a lot more mature than a 28 year old de facto Prince of Canada, who at that point had never done anything of note in his life. Justin is still reeling in shock that a Canadian woman wouldn’t want to be groped by him.
What a f***ing fiasco is the U.S. system of vetting a SC nominee, whether we like the incumbent at the time, when a PM nominates, the person is IN with just a bit of show by a parliamentary committee to rubber stamp the nomination.
The first nomination by Justin in Oct. 2016: “To further meet our commitment to openness and transparency, members of the House’s Justice and Human Rights Committee and Senate’s Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee – as well as representatives of the Bloc Québécois and Green Party – will be invited to take part in a Q&A session with the nominee, moderated by a law professor, on October 25.”
Michael Avenatti wasn’t invited.
Indeed, don. The brazen hypocrisy on display by the media reactions to these two stories is epic.
In Trudeau’s case, the assault claim was clearly credible and wasn’t even seriously refuted by the Liberals. Yet, Trudeau is enthusiastically defended by the media.
In Kavanaugh’s case, there is zero proof, ONLY allegation. As a matter of fact, all the evidence that can be found is in Brett’s favor. ALL of it! Yet, Kavanaugh is enthusiastically attacked and defamed by the media.
Irrefutable proof that ‘the left’ don’t give a flying f*ck about guilt or innocence, or even the lives of sexual assault victims, it’s ALL about smearing and destroying conservatives.
on the general topic of groping and what that leads to, how is billy ‘doc huxtable’ cosby doing?
I remember when the story first hit here @ SDA. the accusers were mocked, dissed and ridiculed.
now look.
“the truth will out”.
Ha! Adds and language warning… but it’s a thing of true beauty especially if you watched Judge Jeanine Pirro.

That policy sounds familiar. At the post-secondary institution where I used to teach, I knew of colleagues who never failed anybody, partly because there was an unwritten rule that everyone who was accepted by that place should be allowed to graduate.
One of my colleagues had a certain student who showed up for lectures for the first few weeks of his course, disappeared for the remainder of the term (except for, maybe, exams), and hardly turned in any work, but still managed to pass with 50%. Some of her classmates weren’t very impressed by that.
I, on the other hand, had no qualms about recommending that someone get a failing grade for poor performance or not doing any work. I saw my students as adults with adult responsibilities. If they had problems in completing their assignments, they had a duty to see me and plead their case or make other arrangements. If they didn’t, I figured that they made their decision and they should deal with the consequences.
Sadly, I was often over-ruled.
it just doesnt work in the long term.
businesses learn that grads from school X are an unknown (pun intended) by word-of-mouth and their own experience. *then* word gets out attending school X is a waste of time and money because for some ‘mystery of the universe’ you cant even get a friggin interview let alone the job with their diploma. so the herd goes elsewhere and school X goes extinct.
I taught for 2 yrs at one and 1 year at another and got let go because I would fail some of the little darlings,
they BOTH went kaputz for the above reason after about 3 – 4 yrs or so.
the only place this effect doesnt happen is, is, is . . . public schools !!!

If you need a bunch of laughs: Norm Macdonald ripping Hilary.
Another conservative web site posted an article calling the Kavanaugh inquisition a form of “moral panic”. It mentioned the day-care sex-abuse hysteria that took place during the 1980s and early 1990s. It is worth Googling that phrase with “wiki”: the encyclopedia does call it a “hysteria”for that it what it was.
According to the Wiki entry, the media started to turn against the accusers around 1987. As well, a number of investigative books came out in the early 1990s exposing the fraud. But I wonder if the current moral panic will be exposed in full. The Democrats organized the fraud, and the media have gone full tilt endorsing the fraud. Rex Murphy has a great column in the National Post exposing the media corruption.
This should get interesting.

https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/scheer-on-his-climate-plan-supply-management-and-the-push-towards-legal-pot-1.4114365
An article in which Andrew Scheer proves he’s nothing more than a dorky looking version of Justin Trudeau.
Quote:”I am defending a principle that protects our rural economy, that protects family farms,” Scheer said.”
Yep,little Mom ‘n Pop fam-bly farms,Andrew,he gonna SAVE ’em. Just like Justin!
This is not a defense of Scheer, but just the observation that keeping the meme of supply management = Quebec sacred cow makes it that much more damaging if dairy gets thrown under the bus to get a NAFTA deal.
To place this in context.
A concession on dairy would be seen in Quebec the same way the NEP was seen in Alberta.
There would no longer be any safe liberal seats in Quebec.
Yeah, sure BOO, HOO. Twelve BILLION in Equalization, says it all. It’s EQUALIZATION, so STF Quebec on dairy. This is no where near what the NEP did to Alberta & the western prairies! The message is we aren’t paying you any more, so suck it up. I don’t care that Andrew Steer is still playing in this playpen, but voters will have the final say on this. Vote Bernier. The Libs get back in & you all can go to sleep again while they continue to wreck the country. Cons will wake up, or they will go out of existence. Steer is a Power Corp plant, oh wait….he’s just a plant. Sure, go ahead vote for The Dork.
Two (2) years. That’s all I give this place before it implodes. Prepare for it. Pot laws will kill this place, count on it.
“This is no where near what the NEP did to Alberta & the western prairies! ”
Of that I cannot agree enough.
It’s not about reality it’s about how Quebec feels about its sacred cow.
Word is a deal has been reached, and the timing is suspect.
Word is that we conceded on dairy.
Waiting to agree until after the evening news is done suggests they don’t want this released in a way that could effect the Quebec election … Let’s see what happens.
That’s the plan
https://nationalpost.com/opinion/conrad-black-canada-hasnt-noticed-but-quebec-nationalism-is-coming-back?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1538148372
Nobody in the media seems to have noticed but this seems to be a natural result of a federal Liberal government.
Quebec is not the province it once was. The province can become as nationalist as it wants. Where will it turn, rather than inward?
The population of Quebec represents less than 25% of Canada and it’s falling every year. There are more people living in B.C. and Alberta than in Quebec. It is the slowest growing of the five largest provinces.
In the political world there might be a return to provincial voting (e.g. like the reformers in the west and the BQ in the east) but so what?
Quebec separating… Ho hum.
The reason for this is that Quebecers can’t seem to grasp that getting goodies from the government means you get more government in your life.
And it keeps happening because the ingrained idea that goes back generations that the ROC owes them.
The reality now is that a majority government can be formed without any seats in Quebec.
Blackmail doesn’t work anymore.
All good points being made, but I a merely pointing out confirmation of a theory I have had since the late 90’s that contrary to media narratives that everyone must vote Liberal because they are the only ones that can handle the separatists, it seems that separatism is only an issue when Liberal governments are ruling.
Obviously I would never be invited to a CBC panel with these kinds of observations.
IF we ever smartened up and shut down big sections of the bloated federal bureaucracy, the effect will include a trend to actual productive work in la belle Provence.
And a chance at an actual productive life is or should be a human right. And would necessarily imply limits on government power over the individual. Just like property rights, It’s sadly missing from our trudopian “charter”
A productive life is good for the person’s psyche, and would lift tens of thousands out of victimhood cesspits. Of course we cant have that, because politicians and bureaucrats live very well of the misery of others. It allows for endless do-gooder schemes that rarely if ever achieve much positive. They mostly only manage to perpetuate misery. Let’s pick just one example; been to a reserve lately? I’m sure you can add other stellar achievements to that list.
In Q, they might finally lose that nagging subconscious awareness their prosperity is achieved mainly through extortion, of AB/SK oil and gas “transfer payments”.
Their achievements are built on a self deceiving lie.
As long as we have that thing called Equalization there will be no incentive to manage provincial coffers responsibly.
Quebec is on multiple Equalization teats in perpetuity.
As has been famously/infamously, (depending on your political bent), Atlantic Canada is a culture of dependency and will continue to support the party that keeps them that way.
“…a chance at an actual productive life is or should be a human right. …” A chance at it, yes.
“…politicians and bureaucrats live very well of the misery of others. It allows for endless do-gooder schemes that rarely if ever achieve much positive. …” Ah, but those schemes do achieve much positive. Unfortunately it’s in the lives of the politicians and bureaucrats living very well off the misery of others.
Prime ministers from quebek will continue to give the province disproportionate advantage.
The hard core fwenchman is gradually facing extinction. His day of dominance is over. We can only hope the separatists have one more run left in them….and this time they succeed.
Any bets that Prinz Dummkopf will let him stay and continue to culturally enrich Canada?

It’s time to cut Quebec loose, they have been controlling the agenda for far too long. Let them go and don’t bail them out when they fail. A province that votes to outlaw English does not belong in Canada, scrap this bilingual B.S. As a french Canadian I am embarrassed by what our governments have allowed Quebec to get away with.
