There’s a pretty simple reason: board games are a really hot property right now and there’s money in them. All of the geek subcultures that have been hollowed out by SJWs are the ones that are economically moribund: tabletop RPGs, comic books, cosplay, F/SF lit, conventions.

I have a theory that Marvel tilted strongly to left, knowing full well that nobody would buy their horrid comic books. But they can sell their rights to their uber-left stories to corporate Hollywood, to make big-budget movies. Marvel gets all of their revenues from pro-Democrat Hollywood these days anyways.

Oh, and incidentally there is only one (1) bookstore chain in Canada, and that is Chapters/Indigo. Been there lately? The whole middle of the store is pillows and shawls.
By the way, did you know that there is not a single Canadian publisher who will even talk to you unless you already have a government grant for your book? Canadian publishers won’t print unless the whole run and the shipping is covered up front by the author or by a Canada Council grant. That is de-facto government control of publishing.

The old adage of those who don’t learn from history are doomed to repeat it show true in the case of Marvel and their SJW tilt. I recall that DC in the late 60’s early 70’s did almost the same thing by twisting various characters (in both character design and dialog) into neo hippies and anti-war activists. Sales crashed in that case also and Marvel picked up the slack and then some. I remember reading financial analysts of the era explaining it as being very simple as Marvel at that time was writing for the audience that bought comics, not for people they just wished to impress.
There are too many who don’t learn from history, they doom the rest of us to go through its repetition with them. Just hope what we have learned helps us to survive and plant the seeds of recovery.
Marvel has always had a leftist bias thanks to the efforts of the self-hating Hellenist Stan Lee, who openly indulged the self-pity of the scum of urban America, while making his arch-villain a Jew (Magneto) who meant business about securing the right to exist of his people.
How Marvel long endured beyond the 1960’s is beyond me. If one day we find out it was secretly bankrolled by Soviet intelligence till 1991, I won’t be at all surprised.

The problem wasn’t the moderators as much as the in-your-face pushing of the SJW agenda of the publisher. During WW2 and Cold war Marvel comics made for a great propaganda tool. Doubt there were any stories about Anglo bankers siting on the board of the BIS & bankrolling Hitler. After the war, Marvel reverted back to the SJW cause. Great jig.
